- What’s up everybody. In todays video, I will be attempting to add a 220v 50amp outlet to my garage at the lowest possible cost. I want to use a custom wall oven as a powder coating oven and need this higher voltage outlet. This is a temporary install as I am planning on having a metal garage building built installed next year which is why I did not want to invest a ton of money on this install.
My goal is to install a rotary transfer switch by tapping into the current 6/4 wire & 50amp breaker that goes to my current kitchen wall oven. The goal is that I can use a transfer switch to switch power from my kitchen oven to my garage oven.
Overall the install went good and everything works.

This is a great video! Thank you for taking the time to detail your process. I have been wanting to do this to my garage as to add welding capabilities. We also repurposed a double oven to make a large powdercoat oven.
Nice 👍🏼
Couldnt you just wire ground and neutral together instead of going through the switch ?
