So I see what you say, then I also read in Exodus 33:11 where it says, "The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend." This is in the SAME CHAPTER is "no one may see me and live." So apparently there are some things you're missing. And I read Genesis 15 where it says, "After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision..." Then I read Isaiah 6 where it says, "In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple." Then I read Ezekial 1 where it says, "In my thirtieth year, in the fourth month on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God." It's almost as though God in the Old Testament took on- human form? Where have I seen that again? Oh yeah, the New Testament as well. So....hmmm. Something tells me you're not taking into account all of the Biblical data when you attempt your interpretation.

The end of the age of the Old Covenant was in 70 AD. Islam was invented in the 6th/7th century. That fact alone proves Mo was a false prophet. The "humanity" verse is one of the most taken out of context verses in the Quran. It makes it seem as if it's bad to kill a person cuz if you do, you kill humanity also. What Muslims won't do is read the verse before and after that humanity verse. It's basically the Quran quoting the Torah and it's telling Jews and Christians not to do that but the next verse is where we are told what God tells the Muslims to do which is; 5:33 "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,".

IMO the problem with the "great-making attributes" argument is that merciful vs. unmerciful, just vs. unjust, etc., are cultural norms. If you grow up in a culture where (for example) being adept at deception is considered admirable, then it's not honesty but guile that would be the "great-making" attribute; cf., The Greatest of Deceivers™. Similarly, in cultures where mercy represents weakness, being unmerciful would be the "great-making" attribute. In order for this argument to be persuasive among Muslims, you have to appeal to what _they_ consider to be great-making qualities--and that can be a challenge, because while Western Muslims may be inclined to recognize Western standards of greatness, other Muslims tend to define greatness in terms of whatever is attributed to Allah and Muhammad. Remind them that Allah calls himself the Greatest of Deceivers, or cite examples of how Muhammad made treaties with people and then broke them, and they're likely to find those things admirable, not abhorrent. (And if you refer to the Bible for God's characteristics, to show where Allah falls short (hint: everywhere), then every contradiction is cited as "proof" that the Taurat and Injeel have been corrupted.)

The term 'son of God' is a commonly used term by the Jews and it is just used for someone close to God. Loads of people in the Bible have been called sons of God, it is not exclusive to Jesus! Also the idea of the Trinity and Jesus being God incarnate came primarily from Saint Paul. Yet you never seem to question him on his claim although he never met or saw Jesus. For the point about love. In Islamic theology God doesn't love the sinners, and the wrongdoers. You might say therefore Mohammad pbuh and the muslims don't know God because God loves everything and everyone. But then also say that because God sends sinners to hell he doesn't love them. And therefore jesus peace be upon him was deficient in his knowledge of God, same with Moses and anyone else that claims God would punish his creatures. How can infinite torment be love. And wouldn't the suffering in this world disprove God's totally unending love, since God is the lord of the heavens and the earth. Who could intercede when He decrees His protection over His creation. I feel your missing something critical, God is the Master of the Day of Judgement and is the Lord of Justice just as he is the Lord of Mercy. And this life is only a test, there is a purpose to it. To grow in our qualities of mercy, and justice, and forgiveness, and strength, and perseverance, and so on. If we develop nothing in this life and only follow our desires we have become an animal. We would have nothing to show for this life except our ingratitude and sins. Would God treat the righteous as he treats the wrongdoers.

There are two books in the Old Testament (Daniel and Zechariah) which say vision and prophecy were going to be sealed up or cease at the end of the age of Old Covenant Israel. The end of the age of the Old Covenant was in 70 AD. Islam was invented in the 6th/7th century. That fact alone proves Mo was a false prophet. He came along long after vision and prophecy were sealed up. Mo was another megalomaniac, like Joseph Smith, who attempted to out-perform Jesus, and like Joseph Smith he failed.

The "humanity" verse is one of the most taken out of context verses in the Quran. It makes it seem as if it's bad to kill a person cuz if you do, you kill humanity also. What Muslims won't do is read the verse before and after that humanity verse. It's basically the Quran quoting the Torah and it's telling Jews and Christians not to do that but the next verse is where we are told what God tells the Muslims to do which is;
5:33 "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. IMO the problem with the "great-making attributes" argument is that merciful vs. unmerciful, just vs. unjust, etc., are cultural norms. If you grow up in a culture where (for example) being adept at deception is considered admirable, then it's not honesty but guile that would be the "great-making" attribute; cf., The Greatest of Deceivers™. Similarly, in cultures where mercy represents weakness, being unmerciful would be the "great-making" attribute.
In order for this argument to be persuasive among Muslims, you have to appeal to what _they_ consider to be great-making qualities--and that can be a challenge, because while Western Muslims may be inclined to recognize Western standards of greatness, other Muslims tend to define greatness in terms of whatever is attributed to Allah and Muhammad. Remind them that Allah calls himself the Greatest of Deceivers, or cite examples of how Muhammad made treaties with people and then broke them, and they're likely to find those things admirable, not abhorrent.
(And if you refer to the Bible for God's characteristics, to show where Allah falls short (hint: everywhere), then every contradiction is cited as "proof" that the Taurat and Injeel have been corrupted.)

The term 'son of God' is a commonly used term by the Jews and it is just used for someone close to God. Loads of people in the Bible have been called sons of God, it is not exclusive to Jesus! Also the idea of the Trinity and Jesus being God incarnate came primarily from Saint Paul. Yet you never seem to question him on his claim although he never met or saw Jesus.
You say Jesus is God, yet many times in the bible Jesus prayed. Why was Jesus praying to himself?

I just read the Koran & it seems to be 2/3 based on individuals & situations found in Old Testament Judaism & 1/3 based on individuals & situations found in the Christian New Testament. For the point about love. In Islamic theology God doesn't love the sinners, and the wrongdoers. You might say therefore Mohammad pbuh and the muslims don't know God because God loves everything and everyone. But then also say that because God sends sinners to hell he doesn't love them. And therefore jesus peace be upon him was deficient in his knowledge of God, same with Moses and anyone else that claims God would punish his creatures. How can infinite torment be love. And wouldn't the suffering in this world disprove God's totally unending love, since God is the lord of the heavens and the earth. Who could intercede when He decrees His protection over His creation.
I feel your missing something critical, God is the Master of the Day of Judgement and is the Lord of Justice just as he is the Lord of Mercy. And this life is only a test, there is a purpose to it. To grow in our qualities of mercy, and justice, and forgiveness, and strength, and perseverance, and so on. If we develop nothing in this life and only follow our desires we have become an animal. We would have nothing to show for this life except our ingratitude and sins. Would God treat the righteous as he treats the wrongdoers.
