immobilizer problems Golf Mk4 1.6 (98)

- Tried everything but no luck but, i left the key in with the egnition on (immobilizer flashing) and some how it just went on its own
"electrical contact cleaner inside the key barrel manage to solve this issue"
Also try spraying electrical contact cleaner inside of the key barrel worked like a charm ;)
Fix this by turning immobiliser chip around inside the key and then re-trying worked fine ever since
Try lock and unlock the doors by using the key remote and that should cure it.

Same here bro. It gets off. But can you tell me what could be the actual issue? Why it goes off after banging the dash? You got any permanent solution?
Because I am worried sometimes it didn't get off in future then I will be stranded 😅😅

Hi, I have same problem. Can you tell me if this will happen again in future? Because in my car it's coming again and again, and I am worried to get stuck when i am somewhere out of town.
Any permanent solution? I am ready to spend money too.
mine does that too. I would say 10% of the time. I usualy just re-insert the key and it works. The keys have a chip inside which give data to the car that its the matching key. However in my case it does it with both of the keys I have so I would guess its the keyhole that sometimes cant read the key chip becuase of bad contact

What was it ?
it had something to do with the responder ring around the key barrel and the key but buy using the electrical contact cleaner some reason just made it work again spraying it direct into the barrel alot of dirt come out maybe it allowed it to get close enough to respond
You should also use the svitol if it's not there, you'll know by contacts
