PIN UP ON CURLY HAIR
Here is a style for women with curly hair that enables you to keep the hair curly while making it look beautiful and refined.
Step one
Start with naturally curly hair. Hair can be also set with a curling iron or a diffuser. The idea is to let the curl to be as it is. If the curl is curlier that is OK, and if it is looser that is also OK. What is key, however, is to be very gentle while holding and styling the hair.
Step two
Start at the root. Grab a small section of curl and scrunch it up. Then secure it either U-pins or grips. The idea is to let that curl build up from the root out.
Step three
Once again, grab a small section of hair, scrunch it up, and then secure it with pins. Be sure to pin right where your fingers are holding the hair. Then begin to pull it apart and loosen it. It should not look too tight-the idea is to let the variety of the curl express itself in this look. At the same time, the look has symmetry, making it look more refined.
Step four
As you work, do not be too tense or force the hair. You still want the curl to be full. Use just enough pins to hold the hair to avoid over-working and flattening the curl.
Step five
Once all hair has been pinned and the initial shape has been formed, take pins and secure any hair that is flopping or falling out. Grab the hair and pull it apart.Secure the hair at the nape of the neck by pinching and twisting it up and then securing it with a pin. Do not be afraid to touch the curl; let it have some texture.
Step six
Once the desired shape has been achieved, spray in some hairspray or place some shine product in the hair. Remember that the curl will not be completely smooth-it will have some fuzz and frizz, and that is OK-it is natural.
