    Hey man, I really like your videos! I am a 13 year old and i've been riding for about 9 months now. Ever since I was 7, I wanted a dirt bike. I asked for one every christmas, every birthday, and I finally got one. I knew how to drive manual before I even sat on a dirtbike, and my dad got an 1990's yamaha RT100 two stroke. The day we bought it, I had no gear except for a bicycle helmet, bike gloves and glasses. I tought myself that night then and there how to ride a dirtbike. And I have to say, You've tought me some stuff I dont know. Your videos cost me 1000$ less than i wouldnt had to pay for. Now I race motocross on my RM85 race bike, and after watching your tutorials it runs better than ever. Thanks a lot!

    Great video man that's good advice. Knee braces are next on my list too, forgot my knee pads at home one day and went riding anyway and ended up going down on sand when I whipped the bike around and bumped my knee cap into the end of my hand guards lol... Hurt for a while and work wasn't too fun for a month or two. Completely agree the best money you can spend in this sport should be on equipment

    • @dirtniron

      @Jacob-wr7ch Před 7 lety

      Enduro Skills I literally have every single piece of riding gear you could imagine… except knee braces. I'm pretty disappointed at how expensive a good pair of knee braces are. They're worth as much as my pit bike! Right now I have no knee protection. I was thinking about getting some cheap ones until I can save up to get the good ones. But that'll just set me back that much more and I don't have the best job so I don't make the most money.

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  Před 7 lety +2

      once you get the bike first of all set the sag to your weight, then if the bike is still too tall go ahead shave your seat first, then if needed get a lowering kit. dont lower your rear shock by raising the spring up, it would make a big changes to bikes handling, same goes for the forks, dont slide them up in the triple tree too high it would also do big changes to handling. Manufacturer set the correct angles and lengths of the suspension to give you most of stability and traction, while still keeping the bike nimble. You can perhaps move the forks slightly and see what it does to your handling, but dont lower it like 1-2 inches. Once you get the lowering link you would need to slide them up more, to compensate. It would also change the handling, but I think thats less noticeable .

      Casey, that is something you need to get ready for,If you have dirt bike you will go down for sure, it doesn't have to be too bad though. I think dirt bikes are safer than street bikes, you dont have other drivers that will cause your accident, many street bikes accidents are caused by someone else.. this element is way smaller if you ride a dirt bike, also the crash on dirt bike tends to be little softer, you are not hitting pavement or concrete.. take it easy my friend!

    Alright. I grew up around 4wheelers but never rode a dirt bike. I want to buy one soon. What's the difference in 2-stroke and 4stroke? I weigh 250lbs and I'm about 5'11". Should I get a 450? Being more on the heavy side. Or should I get a 250 bc I'm new. Thanks for everything

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  Před 7 lety +5

      +Hannah Johnston 2 stroke is lighter and feels more nimble, less rotating mass. It's cheaper to maintain. It has vibrations and somewhat violent power band. 4 stroke is smooth, good to learn on, very linear power delivery. What about 350 4 stroke? KTM or Husky.

    • @andrewkleeman446
      @andrewkleeman446 Před 6 lety

      Get A 250 Two Stroke They Are Light And Reliable And Overall Good For Beginners

    • @TacticalHamsterDance
      @TacticalHamsterDance Před 5 lety

      I weigh 105 kg and started on a 250 4-stroke but I never felt a lack of power. 300 or 350 would be good as well, I think. Personally, I prefer 4-strokes because the power delivery is predictable for a novice unlike on two-strokes. If you're worried about maintenance, you can buy a dual sport such as DR-Z400...

      @Redbullgivesuwings Před 5 lety

      250 is cool but after i rode a friends 450 i had to have one wr 450f so much power its up to u but let me tell u 250 did me fine crf 250r it had big bore kit and it did me just fine it felt a gear behind my friends at top speed and acceeration on the 450 is wicked if u shift right.... its almost scary but thats the thrill to me shifting 1st second third fourth each time u let the clutch out and twisting it pulling ahead of u u hold on tighter the air applying resistqnce the front wheel getting lighter until u finally each 5th seconds go by but it feels like minutes u hit high revs on 5th the bike just cant pull no more faster and u let off shifting back down nice and easy shesh thats the feeling i love if u like it then go with a 450 save ur self some time in the future i was raised in a 4 stroke family never rode a 2 stroke above 80CC its been 2 years I know but i wanted to say this ahah
