I used to go to the Bristol Farms in Manhattan Beach all the time when I was a kid. For some reason my parents liked eating at the cafe inside the store, they had a full service menu.
$5 for a cookie is mad but man I gotta try that Levain cookie. On the daily I’d probably choose Bristol tho because it also looks delicious and it’s cheaper 😅
I got a cookie for Lidl for £0.45p yesterday and it was delicious. Probably not as good as them but the fact I could buy 10 for the price probably makes up for it
I've had Levain before. I don't remember paying over $5 for a cookie and they're usually more domed than the one in the video. I can tell you they are incredible
These are the kitchen staples you'll need to make the best chocolate chip cookies of your life: Butter: This classic chocolate chip cookie recipe starts with two sticks of butter creamed with white and brown sugars. The blend of sugars creates a perfectly balanced flavor. Eggs: Eggs add moisture and act as a binding agent, which means they help hold the dough together. Vanilla: Vanilla extract enhances the overall flavor of the chocolate chip cookies. Baking soda: Baking soda acts as a leavener, which means it helps the cookies rise. Water: A bit of hot water creates steam as it bakes, working with the baking soda to puff the cookies up. Salt: A pinch of salt enhances the flavors of the other ingredients, but it won't make the cookies taste salty. Flour: All-purpose flour helps create gluten, which adds structure to the cookie dough. Chocolate chips: Of course, you'll need semisweet chocolate chips! You can use dark or milk chocolate chips if you prefer. Nuts (optional): Walnuts are optional, but they add nutty flavor and a welcome crunch. How to Make Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies Step-By-Step Here's a very brief overview of what you can expect when you make chocolate chip cookies from-scratch: Beat the butter and sugars, then beat in the eggs and vanilla. Dissolve the baking soda in hot water and add to the mixture. Stir in the flour, chocolate chips, and walnuts. Drop dough onto a prepared baking sheet. Bake until the edges are golden brown. How Long to Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies In an oven preheated to 350 degrees F, the chocolate chip cookies should be perfectly baked in about 10 minutes. The edges should be golden brown and the cookies should be mostly set (they'll continue to set as the cool). Bon appetite!
Is it just me or does anyone else get excited about a big beautiful chocolate chip cookie, I got giddy seeing those..............cookies are your grandmother, that fantastic nostalgic love with smells and tastes that transport you back to much better times.
Try Gideon’s cookies in Orlando Disney Springs. I went there on my 4 day vacation on the first day. Went back 2 more times cause my family loved it so much 😂
love that you're out here doing this stuff for the people that it matters to! i love your videos. the food itself doesn't appeal to me much, but i love that you are always fair and optimistic in your reviews. great stuff! your personality is awesome!
I think I actually went to Levain Bakery back when I was on a trip with my former school. We went there on Manhattan, N.Y., when we were just walking. That was the best memories I've ever had. Definitely worth going back there again
Brooki bakehouse charges 7.00 per cookie and 38.00 for shipping from Australia to the US. And they weren’t even that good. I was so disappointed. Glad you are on the side of $ too! ❤
oooo those look sooooo good! sidenote: i had a friend whose name is Levain, don't remember the if that was how she spelled it, but wow. nice to hear that name again
As Asians, we learned to make Levain-style cookies and had to cut a great deal of sugar from the original recipe since it was overwhelmingly too sweet.
Levain cookies are the absolute best. No way Bristol Farms even compares. They are expensive, but they are definitely worth it ! It’s best to get them fresh from the bakery in New York . But who the hell wants to go to New York in 2024, it’s just not safe.
I’ve had both before. Levain was clearly the superior cookie. It wasn’t even close in my opinion. Personally, I wouldn’t factor cost per bite to determine what’s the better cookie. All about the flavor and texture to me
Levain I must be a good cookie. Usually people are in the comment section talking about how they would never pay five dollars for a cookie. But I don’t see that here.
It’s has gotten to a point where a single cookie is nearly $6 USD. I understand the effort and prior expertise that has gone into the recipe, business, and labor of baking and maintaining consistency but it seems unreal to me that a single “gourmet” (code for not absolutely garbage and minimally portioned) cookie from any old coffee shop or bakery is more expensive than an entire loaf of artisanal bread.
LOL My wife makes the best chocolate chip cookies! She only makes them once or twice a year, usually around the holidays. If she made them more often than that, we would all weigh over 500 lbs.
Size doesn't equal density or mass, you can have the most biggest hollow cookie. levain cost more because it's actually more and filling and most importantly....good
Levain cookie tried it three times best cookie I have ever had no doubt super crunchy and there’s like a hint of banana and there’s some walnuts in there too I recommend trying these cookies no regerts very different very delicous
Both are high quality cookies. Really cannot be dissatisfied with either of those.

@veliechoesdo it
idk if you've ever had it, but those best damn cookies I've had in my life
@veliechoesdo that too
Best cookie I’ve ever eaten. 🍪
love me that levain gooeyness. once i had a pretty undercooked one and it was basically warm cookie dough with a crispy outside. perfection
Never even heard of these places, but the levain looks bomb
It is freaking delicious... Especially the chocolate chip with walnuts! And I don't even like walnuts.😅
@@nca4794 fr almonds and walnuts in chocolate, and pastries or both usually don't taste bad and i don't like them either
Sooo good! Very rich. Can’t eat a whole one in one sitting.
First time i heard of one was in NYC. It was really good. I recommend.
Same
I can tell just by looking at leviathan that ITS A BEAST
Same. I was thinking when he chose Bristol that Levain definitely should've taken the W with the taste over the other cookie
@@Awesum he went with quantity over quality...
@@ballinforjesus3645I mean he is counting the pricelist too other than taste

Levain is the best looking cookie I’ve ever seen
Bristol farms look dry af Levain looks way better
I love how bro always looks so happy, always makes my day
easily the best part of his reviews. i don't really care much about the food itself, it's his personality that pulls me in!
He’s a lil ray o sunshine 😂😂
Sometimes it’s not about the dollar but more the quality
Both cookies look great.
I like how he wears his seatbelt while reviewing foods
Cause the right cookie will💥 knock yo a$$ Out!! 🤣
That's how he avoids police harassment
Just off looks that Levain looks fire.
Bristol is a fire cookie!
Both are delicious cookies, so it's a win-win. 🍪
Giving the W to Costco on this one.

The way he starts nodding after a couple of chews never gets old.
Those two cookies are BEAUTIFUL
Thank you for choosing and not just going for the typical “well, in the end, which one is better is up to personal preference”
Bristol cookies are so good man.. and they’re always still warm
These prices are criminal for a cookie.
Then make a batch yourself
its america. if you live in asia yes this is very expensive cookie in that size.
Costco replaced the churro with the giant cookie for $2.49.
