It's good seeing Mike again. He was one of my Supervisors way back when he helped get the Children's Justice Centers started in Utah. Great, knowledgeable, resilient, solid man, and don't know how people like him stay in this fight. I'd retired after teaching school for 35 years. But after 3 years tracking child abuse cases, I was totally wrecked. Going to work up in the mountains during the Olympics I think saved me. Thankful for people like Mike King!

I did my best to support Mike Kings children’s justice program because of my own experience being abused by my father who hated me but didn’t hurt my much younger siblings… I began Bvlogging online with my book I’m wanting to write called “On My Way Home”…but my sister keeps telling me that it’s in the past and WHY even think about it… but how does one forget being brutally beaten, se3xually abused in the worst way possible but told was my fault… how can a 5 years old child know what s3xy behavior is… @14 I was kidnapped kept 2 nights, drugged & aRpD…by 45 year old monster that came back to murder me bcuz I told what happened…. He told me that I was not dare tell… I had my arms around a deer that befriended me but he was using a rifle and tried to shoot me… missing me by inches but my deers right flank was hit and she ran into the woods leaving a trail of blood and I never saw her after that… has been over 60 years ago and I still weep for my precious one and only friend.
I spent months alone with my bio donor who was always gone gambling while my siblings lived with foster family while my mom lived 150 miles away attending the RN program… leaving me alone like this has a devastating impact on me as I felt totally abandoned.. no phone,TV, radio or even food really broke me… but my entire family has turned against me as they were taught to hate and blame me for everything that happened in that family just because I was conceived at the wrong time…
It’s crazy how my parents both blamed me 8 months before I was born and is when my parents began to abuse me and my uncle began s3xually abusing me when I was almost 7 years old but when I told my mom about what was happening SHE flew into angry rage at me and blamed me for my being too s3xy she was screaming that she was going to lose her baby all because of what I was telling her… I was terrified by what I had told her as to why I was wetting my bed each morning when she and my grandma were taunting and threatening to tell my entire school about my bed wetting… was my 1st week of school and I was so upset and distraught that they were going to shame me plus I was terrified that my mom was going to lose her baby that was due in a week… she held her tummy while telling me that I was killing the baby because of what I told them…
I ran out of the house and sat on the steps.. burying my face into my lap as I was sobbing praying and begging God to save the baby and for my telling my mom that I was being molested in the bathroom by my dad 22 year old brother Howard… I was the one who suffered the consequences of what happened…& my abuse became worse than ever as now my dad blamed me for causing trouble for his family and he began beating me any chance he could… slapping, hair pulling, kicking and punching me worse than before I told on his younger brother

What you and Adam have to offer is showing that talking is good, showing your survivors of the trauma of dysfunctional family relationships, your podcast will help billions know that they’re not alone with having dysfunctional families, I’m a nurse working in a ward environment and never judge families for being dysfunctional as tbh most families have some sort of dysfunctional relationships amongst themselves, I too have a dysfunctional family, I’m 2nd oldest of 11 kids, both parents were violent with me from an early age however dad left after I left following my last beating which left me requiring hospital treatment aged 17, mum mellowed as she got older so the younger half of my family don’t believe the awful beatings I got on a regular basis, but back to you guys, what your both doing is incredible ❤your helping others who are going through trauma from being abused or whatever believe that they can survive and talking about it can be therapeutic, loving this podcast, love Mike King. Such an intriguing topic with a great trio of people. Each with much to contribute. The Yellowstone trip bothered me too. Although I found that Tylee hadn’t died there. Wish I could remember the fact of why I came to that conclusion during Lori’s trial. I’m glad Lori was given credit for being a good mom before the cult behavior. I’ve never seen Adams family as horrible. Only two things bothered me when Lori was young. When she called her dad a spiritual giant and her and Alex’s sexual behavior, even if they were joking. Seems like a lifetime of sexual power and religious fervor. A bad combination. Thanks to Mike, Adam, and Rex!

Another theory about Lori killing Tylee is that Tylee got mad and said something possibly threatening to expose the "truth" about Charles' murder and it was more of a crime of passion, but your theory that it was planned before the day trip to Yellowstone (one of the most well attended national parks--proving Rex right that no one is a mastermind here) gives another perspective to consider. I guess both can be true. Tylee threatened Lori directly or indirectly and they planned to kill her. Although, from some of the phone data shared Monday, April 29, in court, I wonder if Lori is not solely responsible for Tylee's murder, i.e. a crime of passion; and she then called Alex and Chad to clean it up. There were a lot of phone calls and text messages for a planned event. The sheer volume of communication lends itself to shock and adrenaline--not that there isn't adrenaline even when a "plan comes together," but it seems more than that. I think also what gives a little more credence to the crime of passion is killing Tylee first. Lori knew that she was dependent on Tylee for JJ's care. Of course, Lori did many stupid things during the course of this killing spree, but
Adam gave me a light bulb moment for sure: that Lori might have though Joe's death was answered prayers giving her a direct line to God's "1-800-Smite-4U" hotline. The arrogance. And then Mike added to it with regards to the monetary reward for the efforts: insurance. So, maybe she didn't poison him, but she believed she prayed him to death and on top of that given money for her efforts. The lunacy of it all.
I think that while internally, Chad and Lori had reasons to know that they were full of sh!t, they externally communicated in this language of pseudo-religion to see how far it could go because they both needed to be not only validated, but revered. Both of their lives show that: pageants, public speaking, etc. OF COURSE, we all want to be revered and we can write a book and not kill our children, but just like for some who use marijuana and wind up addicted to meth and others can use marijuana and never touch another illicit substance, some people are prone to addiction and the adoration that they felt was their drugs.
It was mentioned that no one killed, in this case, because they were bloodthirsty (I believe was the word used), but there are speculations and conclusions being drawn from Alex's "dark" proclivities that indeed he may have enjoyed the killing part too. I can see that theory. I think though, perhaps, a fuller conclusion would be that because he had such shame attached to those proclivities that he needed to be a hero and he would do whatever he needed to do be a hero. I think Adam has said this before too.
Possibly going to post this on Mike's channel too. Thanks for letting me rant.

I am convinced that Melanie knew and conspired to have Brandon killed who was her estranged husband at the time. Agree that others need to be held accountable...

“No one is spared but we are all blessed,” said Rex. That could be our definition for a silver lining optimist. And I will tell anyone. Alex Cox is one of the most compassionate people I have ever known.

Pity he didn't spare some of that compassion for Carles, Tylee, JJ, and Tammy. 😏

Laurie was drawn to Chad & his books & thoughts, because of what was lacking in her life.

Absolutely LOVE Mike, so please do more with him. The Yellowstone video was very telling. I'm a journalist by trade, and I like NPR also because I feel like they are one of the most unbiased media outlets you can find, but my ultra-right-wing-nothing but Fox News-watching family members say NPR is liberal...so I feel I can't win, at least with them. Lol.
