My biggest gripes about the system itself is how the original NES ports are not replicated on the classic, so you can't use your original NES controllers, how there is no cartridge slot, how they used micro USB which is terrible, and how there is no A/V out for CRTs

You probably should've looked for an NES in the later style box with the red border, since that's the one they are recreating.
NES Classic replicates the 1990 NES Classic Series system's box really well, this one is an older box, so it doesn't replicate it as well.
The NES Classic is exactly 1/4 of the original’s size, and its controller is roughly 1/3 of the length compared again to the original.

Never owned an NES, first console I owned was the SNES. I can't deny the impact the NES had on the gaming industry though.
I remember having one in the house as a little little kid but it was my brother's. We kinda shared the SNES and then the N64 was really the first system that was completely mine
The NES classic is great as a starter or for simple past experience, but the original is even better for full blown retro gamers and people that still owns a CRT TV in 2020. I'm also willing to bet that the classic edition is even smaller than a NES cartridge.
Definitely picking this up. Just a shame it is sold out until 2017 in Norway
+LRZN it's sold out like crazy everywhere. I think there are some stock refreshes in the US, but they're disappearing seconds after going up
Kevin, are you planning to continue your "best games of..." series? I absolutely loved those vids and I miss them... it'd be great to see another video in that series!
I'd love to but they just weren't doing great. I am planning on revisiting them though, maybe even restarting from the start or counting backwards with higher production quality. Something I'll be visiting again next year once big name releases and all the hardware stuff slows down

consider getting the classic once they're regularly in stock again! It's a great sampling of some of the system's best, some of which are pretty expensive to track down these days

An a Real NES Console VS an Emulator with only 30 reinstalled games. And the worst thing, those roms are modified, this is not the real NES experience what everybody deserved since the beginning.
Ohhh look !!!!! ...... it got the same NES design but too smaller, and it's original Pad somehow, and everybody fell in love with it.
And now that Emu cost till Now $4000 around. Mmmmmm no.
Those chosen titles. Over almost First Party titles as it totality. So where are the great Third Parties titles? Not even only MegaMan II, Castlevanias and Ninja Gaiden. There are a more and many many good and a lot of games.
Not even a real Kid deserve on to play with this emulator. Children deserves a real NINTENDO EDUCATION with the REAL NES CONSOLE along with it's CARTS and Zapper. Instead on emulating them.
