    I have driven both the Corsa & the Fiesta. Both are equal in my opinion when it comes to driving them however the Fiesta cannot compete with the Corsa when it comes to the interior. The old-fashioned 'nokia' style interior of the Fiesta is trumped by the Corsa's more refined Intelilink system.

    The Corsa is a decent car, just look at how many are used by the driving schools and rental car companies. It's not as enjoyable as some others, but it does what you expect it to. Most of us drive shortish distances in urban areas and it's a car that does this adequately.

      @ralphsaad8637 Před 7 lety +12

      I have an Opel (vauxhall) corsa and my mum has an audi A1. I actually think that the interior of the Corsa is better. The A1 may look sportier with leather seats and all... but that's it. The dash is one of the dreariest ever. I actually don't recommend the A1. It's a really good car but it's also a bit overpriced considering what it has to offer. You could get a mini for that price, which is faster, more luxurious and better looking.

    I have Corsa 5dr, SE level, diesel (95hp) registered in May 2015 and it has split folding (40/60) of back seat and back of it isn’t metal but upholstery (same as floor in boot). So not all of them are like this one.

  • @cjp9596
    @cjp9596 Před 9 lety +7

    The split seat is such a useful thing, it's bizarre that Vauxhall have chosen to omit it so far up the range. The flat boot floor and fold-flat seats from the previous car were one of its strong points.

      History, Vauxhall was an established brand in the UK.
      GM bought them way back and started producing 'Opels' there, but no one knew that brand, presto, the Opels were called Vauxhall.
      Probably the same story with Holden.
      On the island of Ireland it's pretty messed up. Ones registered in the South (Republic of Ireland) are badged 'Opel', the exact same car on the other side of the border in the North (Northern Ireland, part of the UK) has the Vauxhall badge.

    Out of all the reviews I've seen for this car, the Onstar system fails to get a mention almost all of the time. A feature that other hatchbacks don't have. The Onstar system acts as a free Wi-fi hotspot for your car, plus Iphone and Android mobiles can connect to the screen on the dashboard. Basically, I can stream music all the time without using the data on my phone. The model I've purchased also has a hill start assist system and the clutch is easier to use than the car I learnt to drive in (Ford focus Zetec 2012).
    I have also driven my older brothers new ford fiesta red edition which is also a great car. Admittedly his car has far more power, the seats are nicer and it has a rear view camera for parking but he is paying roughly 60% more than me over the next three years if you include insurance and servicing, on top of the finance deals.
    The reasons for buying a Corsa over other hatchbacks really comes down to the cost, but the features aforementioned really do make it an enjoyable car to drive and a great first car. I'm really looking forward to picking up a limited edition model this week.

    Also they have clearly left room for a facelift model in a few years time. For example the front fog lights that are currently facing at a downwards angle at the end will then change to the angle going upwards in the facelift model.. Hence the term "Facelift" This is a common marketing trick purposely done by manufacturers to make the same model of car look "fresher"and therefore attract more customers back that can get one over on their friends etc by having the newer looking model.. But it's just a marketing gimmick. so I'd wait for the "Facelift" model in about 3 years time before buying one of these.

    the front looks good but the back looks like a badly squashed astra and that 1.0 3cyl turbo engine sounds all good with 115bhp there about but its £30 year to tax which is not alot but compared to the 1.0 ecoboost engine in a fiesta with 125bhp is £0 free to tax even renault's 0.9tce is £0-20 tax even on a sandero its the same so really its a bit of a poop engine

    Disappointed that after 8 years in production now they didn't bother to re design the platform! feels like a bit of a cop out to me... Not that I'd ever consider owning a modern Vauxhall in a million years anyway.

    • @CheeseTheAnimator_onGoAnimate

      agreed, Vauxhall should've redesigned the platform and not have been so lazy. But i've see GM do far far worse with the eighth generation Chevrolet/GMC Suburban, they didn't change it that much for nearly 20 years (1973-1991). GM isn't gonna do something that stupid again.

      Did BMW 1 series bother to redesign the platform after 10 years on the market? Nope.
      BTW I like how plenty of English people think the French cars are quality but hate Opels lol... Why? They are pretty good since Insignia I reckon.

    Hmmm, I get corporate nose's but the Adam front end just does'nt suit the Corsa! Lets hope this does'nt spread to the other Opel/Vauxhall's. Also the Fiesta is nigh on unbeatable this gen, Ford has a tough job in replacing it in 3-4 years time!

    I had a Corsa before one of the older models and never again. It was the worst car I had ever owned and was so happy when I got rid of it. The horrible gears, noisy gutless engine and it even started leaking rain through the footwell. Even if this model is a big improvement the rivals do it better and this looks boring as well.

      Super_Slav The fact we've had two over six years (one 10 years old when we sold it) without a single fault would beg to differ. Also, considering nearly everything mechanical in Jeeps was Mercedes until 2011, they can only be as reliable as Mercedes lets them!

    I don't like it! The car that replace is better looking! The front grill is to small and narrow and the lights are... I'll be gentle and say very weird ruin the whole front... The back lights are more Meriva then Astra but could accept it.
    The interior is quit nice but this is not enough!

      Doesn`t matter so much how the car looks. It`s actually made to be a city car? think at how economic might be this car and cheap to run. If you want a fancy car just buy an Audi, BMW, etc, Stop being so rude...Overall a very good car

      Actually it looks aggressive and it is looking great. Mine is 2015 1.0T and has split rear seat. Energetic, luxury features such as blind spot sensor, engine auto stop start, advanced self parking assist that you can't even find in 2018 VW Polo. And engine super smooth and quiet. To me it looks perfect.
