I don't know what I'd do without Seth. He's like a father to me.
He is you
You sir are an imposter!
Peter Griffin He owns your life, you could tickle him but he may erase you.. So that's a no no
Peter Griffin Seth MacFarlane is awesome
He sure is buddy!
Alcohol actually saved a guys life..... I can't believe I would live to say those words
A famous guy at that
who knew alcohol could be used for good for once i guess
1:54
so obviously we should all get piss drunk everyday
+Sams Tech Tips if that guy died . We would not have family guy , or American dad . Or the Cleveland show or Ted and Ted 2
Plot Twist brian and stewie actually go back in time to tell Seth to miss the flight Boom.
+Di Ci MIND FUCK
wow
YES!
well, actually according to chaos theory, if in an alternative history version he had been in that flight 9/11 might have never happened
Gustavo Oliveira true. And Harambe would still be alive
Only in America you can make jokes about the Holocaust, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Hurricane Katrina, the JFK assassination, Pearl Harbor, Columbine, Sandy Hook, racism, cannibalism, pedophilia, rape, abortion, murder, cancer, people with disabilities, cripples, incest and countless other things with no backlash, and yet one 9/11 joke is when people decide to say you're taking it too far.
AYYYY LMAO
HAPPY PERSON so fucking true. Even family guy is shameless w the racist/sexist shit (its comedy&I love it, fuck PC brigades) but even they have to be extra careful when talking about 9/11. Fucking bullshit
Never seen so much taboo in one comment :')
MXV Damn, I could cut my grass with your edge
HAPPY PERSON
cough cough 2996 deaths cough cough
“9/11 was an incident that happened in America...”
*CROWD LAUGHS*
They were Laughing because it was common knowledge, so Seth didn't need to explain it people
Yeah that statement was funny as hell... So why wouldn't they?
It’s almost been 20 years...
Gee I Bet He Was Thinking More People Would Agree With Him.
"I suppose taken out of context that probably wouldn’t look very good, would it?"
Since 9/11 Seth Macfarlane has had to his credit two successful ongoing TV series and one successful movie, he's hosted the eighty fifth academy awards, he donated Carl Sagan's papers to the Library of Congress, he got Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey off the ground and won a Peabody for it, he's sang at Carnagie hall, the BBC Proms and met all his childhood heroes like Patrick Stewart and Frank Sinatra Junior.
This is the man who escaped 9/11, the one who walked away, pursued his dreams and lived.
I'm not much into his brand of comedy but he is a titan.
*whispers* "Ricky Spanish"
Ricky Spanish don't you mean three successful movies. Ted, ted 2, and a million ways to die in the west.
Andrew Eccles I don't think the other movies did well at the box office.
Grammar Nazi (whispers) "Ricky Spanish"

they say alcohol kills people but in Seth's case it saved him on 9/11
how he could have survived right?
Angle Johnson did u even watched the video???
marlb0r015 I know a guy who survived the first crash and got out the building
Not know know but I did read about it
JJKM 17. Yeah no not buying it, the second that plane hit the tower everyone would be instantly vaporised by the powerful explosion
My god. Missing the 9/11 flight would haunt me forever.
ZEZERBING Haunt? I thinking being a survivor on a 9/11 flight would haunt you. Missing it would hopefully relieve you forever.
+Jeff Barrett there's a thing called survivor's guilt. It's a psychology thing that affects people who narrouwly survived a disaster.
MyChico333 Survivor's guilt is someone who survived an event. Not getting on the plane in the first place does not qualify. Being on the plane and surviving is different.
WHAT SURVIVORS? 2 OF OF 3 PLANES WERE USED AS AN EXPLOSIVE SWORD FOR 2 BUILDINGS
Alexandel Sosa he wasn’t saying there were survivors. He was speaking hypothetically, just using it as an example, to make a point. (IF the person had been on the plane and survived.)
I've never been so thankful for alcohol..
Thank god for alchol
dayum you so fine I wanna skidaddle your skadoodle
When I liked this, the number of likes was 911.
Good for u
You are very sexy.
All i hear is a pretentious Brian talking. I can’t unhear it.
Having Tea With the Devil same
Yes right
Me too! 😂
How is Seth pretentious.
@@Dragular i never said Seth himself was pretentious, i said all i can hear is the voice of pretentious BRIAN.
Wait so r we just gonna pass up the fact that Seth got saved by like 10 minutes of errored time..?
+Callum Berriman If that happened to me I'd be shocked every single minute
alcohol saved him..
He's spoken about it a lot and has said that he missed flights more often than a normal person would. For you and me this would be shocking but for him he had (and maybe still has) a tendency to be late for flights. So it is true that maybe if he'd been given the correct time (15 minutes earlier) he'd have been there just in time...but it doesn't shock him as much as it would us, as something conspired against him fairly regularly. It was one of many flights he's missed.
Kevin skipp now he HAS to miss a shit ton of flights he must be paranoid as fuck
Callum Berriman what?
So basically.. thanks to alcohol we can still watch shows as Family Guy and American Dad?
Dennis de Jong That's one way of putting it, yeah.
Dennis de Jong weed
And Ted also
Yea basically
The Cleveland Show was good, not Family Guy but still good when it was on Netflix.
For anyone who doesn’t watch the whole video:
If anyone can make jokes about 9/11 it’s Seth. He was booked onto one of the planes that hit the towers which he missed due to a hangover
Sure. If he was booked on the flight along with Mark Wahlberg....where are the official FBI/FAA interviews documenting why they both were supposed to be on the plane but missed it? There are none I checked. And why were two serious Hollywood "players" flying commercially anyway? Wake up .your being lied to
His travel agent messed up his schedule too.
So because he was lucky to miss a plane it’s ok if he makes jokes about an event where thousands of people died the worst possible way? Hard to say who is dumber you or him. You both should have been in the towers that day with your families
Flash news : anyone can joke about anything.

Seth was very lucky, i admire the way he can joke about it

BlueLion101 Yes ikr its weird.. Omg... Seth is 43 and I can't believe there are younger boys and girls having a crush on him... DISGUSTANG!!
Can you imagine hearing about that once it happened and the chills you would get when you found out it was your plane?
A huge mix of happiness and survivals guilt. So yeah, it would be a huge range of emotion
He actually did hear about 9/11 while at the airport. So I'm assuming he never took that second flight.
Sooo family guy wouldn't have existed past 9/11 because he was hungover and missed his soon to be hijacked plane by ten minutes..... DAMN
Dave Banner Nice. Let's wish death upon someone because we hate a TV show. You're a swell person aren't ya?
I think he is saying it is just a crazy turn of events, not that he hates the show.
ThatGuyYouKnow You have extremely poor reading comprehension. He want saying anything along the lines of which youve stated.
ThatGuyYouKnow Jesus Christ, how is it _that_ difficult for you to understand what he commented? A first grader could understand it.
Americans will believe anything that's on the tele
9/11 is a wound that we must get over together as a nation. The tragedy is not funny, but bringing humor to it should not be that great of a deal. It is like if you fell off a bike doing something stupid and ended up with a big scar, joking about the scar doesn't mean that it wasn't painful at the time. It means that we have healed from it. The best way to go against the terrorists is to laugh at their face when they want us to be terrified and hide in our own home.
no man don't be stupid, muslims are very sensitive people
you want another oil embargo?
its sad to say but we are big babe's sometimes .
+Henry Cheng i dont get what the big deal is, it happened years ago, i say get the fuck over it
+sim61642 What does what he said have to do with Muslims(1.7billion people), he said terrorists... oh I get it, you;re one of those.
+Why you gotta go there why would anyone else wan want to terrororise america
most muslims just want to live in peace
Can't agree more, it's either bitch, or strap plastic explosives to yourself
A new teacher at my school saved this guys life. He went to school in America with seth. When he was older and was teaching he invited seth to talk at his school. The kids were older kids (I think they were called freshmen or something) and took seth out drinking on September 10 2001. He woke up on september 11th and missed his flight
What is the teacher's name?
Drinking saves Lives
Seth really didnt change alot of his voice for Brian did he?
no not really. it is the closest one to his normal voice. I have actually heard he loves lots of lines with him because he doesn't get as much of a sore throat lol
WWII Channel I think he uses Brian to express his true feelings.
Brian is the best character can't believe he was killed off
clarkymann again?
He's not supposed to.
Its excatly the same, the difference in microphones is probably what makes it sound a bit off
Thats a crazy story at the end. Both he and Michael Jackson couldve been on that flight. Both "spared" by the same reason, oversleeping.
yeah, what a coincidence...
And mark wahlberg
And Michael J. won in the ultimate oversleeping awards... Too soon?
Really hmmm strange isn't
May be made up story I guess then
@@MiscreantRose it's been 11 years.
Still yes.
I hope he gave his travel agent a big bonus for screwing up the time he was meant to be at the airport. If he'd got it right, Seth probably wouldn't be alive now!
Every time I hear Seth and Mark Wahlberg talk about them missing the 9/11 flight I always get Final Destination vibes like somewhere Death is just looking at Seth like “one day” 😂
Well done to my fellow Aussie Rove (The Host) for asking the question, and then allowing Seth to tell the story & answer the question uninterrupted! Some of those American TV show hosts could learn a thing or two from you
You're right. I hate the formula all those US hosts must have. That they stick to
see? drinking alcohol could turn out to be good for you!
I think this wouldn't sound right out of context, either... :-)
it was not because of alcohol it was because his travel agent messed up his schedule
Henry Sullivan did you hear what seth said. he said he over slept because he was hungover. yes his travel agent fucking up had a small part but alcohol also had a part of saving his life.
Yep
Will I Am stared at him for like 2 minutes.
Uzumaki Naruto he was probably just realising he is not worthy enough to be sat beside a genius
Forgot I ever watched this lol.
clarkymann lol
How have the past 2 years been?
whyw e mentioning will i am again?
Almost losing Seth to 9/11 makes you wonder what other brilliant minds have been lost in other tragedies.
Michael Jackson
Mark
Aaliyah she was also in a plane related accident in 2001 But not 9/11
Alcohol kills Seth
Seth: but why?
Alcohol: you forgot 9 11?
Seth: oh yeah sorry
Its so insane to think of the odds of that happening. Not only Seth mcfarlene, but Mark Wahlberg also was supposed to be on a plane that was involved in 9/11, but he switched his flight last minute and went to Toronto. What the hell are the odds. But I'm just glad family guy is still around
And to think Seth Macfarlane was suppose to be on flight 11 but he missed it because of a hang-over!
wrong timer
Was Will I Am pissing anyone else off during that interview?
me
+Fran MC
Will.u.leave
Fran MC he was not amused at all 🤣
Fran MC if someone sitting quietly pissed you off then you have some serious issues
2:30 the other guests have literally no reaction to the most shocking and frightening news you could possibly hear. Seems a lot of people are dead inside.
I found that insane as well
So that’s why Stewie also says “you know I was supposed to be on one of those planes”
right omg
And Brian also
So Seth's agent could have been tipped off to schedule his cab ride 15 minutes late and save him?
Underrated comment
drummerjstone illuminati
Bush and Bin Laden both liked Family Guy and decided to spare his life.
Obscure Entertainment I could honestly see that being the case. Lmaooo

so we can thank seth's travel agent that family guy is one of the most lovable but screwed up animated family shows of this millenium other than the simpsons
The Simpson> South Park> Futurama> American Dad> Every Tv animation series> Family Guy.
Even though i like (no homo) Seth Mcfarlane.
Ivan Acevedo
How is american dad better lol :D
Turns out when Stewie went back to make sure 9-11 happened, he made sure Seth MacFarlane missed his flight.
ecart2 Is way better :)
Yes
its so nice to hear the little similarities in his voice and his charecters
When Seth brings up 911, he feels weird. He was originally going to be on a plane to new york. He was lucky he was not on it.
So Alcohol saves lives. How ironic.
Yeah but don’t use that reason to drink and be an alcoholic
that was a great family guy episode.
MoXy my favourite
it’s one of my favorites honestly I watch it so much
I love how effortlessly Seth shifts into the voices from the show.
The crowd is laughing and they don't even understand why. Seth is not even making a joke, he's just explaining a story line.
Some people here get it wrong:
In a newer episode Brian and Stewie GO BACK to an episode from 1999...you understand it now?
He sounded like Brian in this interview
Sean he uses his actual voice for Brian

This guy is a genius!
You wouldn't know by watching his shows.
Nothing Really you are the dumb one here if you don't understand all the shots/side jokes done in family Guy
Chesse#1 CZcams I understand them. They just aren't clever nor are they humorous.
@@nothingreally6680 yeah they’re funny as yell
@@nothingreally6680 well his works are still successful whether you like them or not
I think the point is to understand from Seth’s experience is that you shouldn’t get throw an adult temper tantrum if things don’t go according to your plan you miss the plane because your Lyft driver got lost, your seat gets reassigned, you miss out on something you really wanted to do to help a friend or family, the security guard won’t let you in, the police officer pulls you over. Someone messes up your reservation. Remain calm this “absolutely terrible horrible person” could actually be saving your life.
But you could also look at it from a different view. There probably was someone that might have missed the flight the night before and then took the flight that went into the World Trade Center.
My teachers, principles, advisors, counselors: “Don’t drink, alcohol can’t save you from disasters”
Seth: *Observed*
Seth pulled the no u card
I now know stories of 528 people that missed that same flight
America is too touchy over 9/11. In the UK we had our own 9/11 style attack which we don't talk about anymore because it's met really relevant.
Cribsmas Morn. Lmao your 9/11 was so huge that you called it your 9/11, the irony
James Hetfield I called it 'a 9/11 style attack.' Also, that's not irony
James Hetfield He said that to make it relatable to Americans who don't know anything about the outside world...the irony.
Cribsmas Morn. Well that was considerably smaller. 9/11 remains the biggest terrorist attack ever and completely changed the world.
TheEpic22 actually slavery was. Look up the term terrorism. Now apply that to origin of slavery happening in America. Starting with Columbus and the Indians, afterwards sailing Africans over.
Love how family guy pushes the limit and if we cant joke about past tragedies then we will always feel down we need to laugh and think of better things
When I listen to Seth, I feel like Brian is doing his voice behind the scenes
I love how Seth's natural voice is literally Brian.
All I'm hearing is Brian voice
Seth as a writer talks about his life events through Family Guy. His way of healing from the past is to create these types comedy to express his feelings. I think if you put yourself in his shoes you then start to think about what you maybe would have done. Many of us would like to say that I would have tackled the terrorist and killed him. I have had two events that people would say they would have stepped in and prevented it. One was back in high school and there was a fight but one kid was stabbed to death. A lot of people claimed to run to the victims aid and control the bleeding but that was far from the truth. What happened was they say the fight, they encouraged the fight and when the stabbing actually occurred the guy who did it ran away and the victim was left on the ground and no one helped they just watched him bleed to death.
A second even was in College and there was a rumor that someone had a gun on the 1st floor and I was on the 4th. There is only one exit. I stood there and didn't move because I didn't want to run into the person who had a gun and shot. While everyone left I was the last one to leave. Most people didn't leave until they were told to.
My point is this you kind of want to say you would do something during a tragic event and not do anything but regret it later. Now Seth missed the flight and people died on the flight so I bet he sits back and thinks man I could have stopped it like this and made this part of Family guy and express his feelings of wanting to time travel and prevent it.
Booze saved Seth MacFarlane!
Na illuminati probably called him.
You can clearly see he lying by the way he moves and talks. #staywoke

I can just see Brian sitting there doing all the talking lol
I would have been scared for life knowing that I barely dodged a death bullet; I'm glad Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg didn't get on that doomed flight otherwise they would have certainly died as well. It's still sad that many others aboard Flight 11 along with those on the other three flights, the Twin Towers and the Pentagon did not make it out alive.
You genuinly believe a plane hit the pentagon?
thehewguy If you slow down the footage enough and look close enough you can see a plane just before impact and after the crash they did find some plane parts around the area, you can see some photos of a plane's parts scattered around the area.
mate.
you have been duped
thehewguy Well you can believe in whatever theory you believe in while I can believe in the plane hitting the pentagon because I'm not into changing other people's beliefs since obviously neither of us was there to see what happened in person :)

Man I can’t stop picturing Bryan lol when Seth talks

2:30 the way will is looking at him priceless:)
I'm so glad he's still here!
Who else would share my dark humour?
He created the show, but most of the ideas that are put into the show are from his writers, but he does contribute to them sometimes. Seth mainly voice acts and edits. He is still a highly intelligent individual.
I had no idea Seth was supposed to be on one of those 911 planes. If he had been, we would only have 2 seasons of Family Guy. No Ted movies, no Million Ways to Die in the West etc. etc. Thank God he was spared on that day to help the world laugh a little.
We almost lost peter, quagmire, brian, stewie, Dr. Hartman, Carter Peuderschmidt, Stan, Roger, Tim the Bear, Tom Tucker, and whoever else I'm forgetting
Imagine life without Seth.

I just noticed that Lauren Graham was on this interview aswell! Gilmore Girls is my life! What a fantastic interview

"im 10 minutes late to work"

What delayed her?
I don't know if I would have survived life this long without continuous seasons of family Guy.
Seth had the balls to make a 9 / 11 joke live on TV
He's practically a survivor
When I hear Seth speak I always imagine him being Brian
Gives me chills when the audience laughed about 9/11 0:21
My neighbor was supposed to be on flight 11 to go on vacation in LA. She already had her ticket booked but due to business needs, her boss asked her to go a week later instead and she agreed…
Wow the odds of the producer of family guy being the guy late for the flight before it left. Family was destined for greatness and to continue airing.
family guy is just a weapon to dumb down the youth, they needed seth alive because he would, and has played a gigantic role in dumbing down the masses.
Seriously because last time i checked up on the matter family guy is extremely anti government and presses heavily on the negative aspects of our cheaply made society and the darker side of today and past history. It does all this while still making you laugh. The truth is hidden under comedy.
Justin Seaman i don't think it 's a coincidence that jackie chan, mark wahlberg, and seth macfarlane, and others happened to sleep in on the day they were supposedly set to fly on one of those planes, you can disagree with me all you want, but i in my mind i believe these ppl had some knowledge of what was going down, wouldn't doubt if they were contacted by some zionist jew and payed off or something, since the zionists own mainstream media, and were supposedly behind the 9/11 attacks.
***** and tv shows like family guy
Yeah there are dozens of celebrities that take flights in and out of New York on the daily. Although I do agree a isolated segment of the US government coordinated 911 I don't think the celebrities who missed tiger deaths were part of some elaborate scheme to save then. Just fate.
This is insanely weird hearing Brian’s voice from an actual person
Mr booze did save peeps after all
Fun fact my friends dad is a musician who was late to get on the 4th flight that crashed into PA
Will I Am seems like a fun guy to hang out with......
hes usually funny, idk what was up with him here
His laugh when he was talking was very awkward
+jemert96 I think he was getting a feel for Seth. Sometimes it takes people time to realize the person sitting next to them isn't a pompous egomaniac, but actually cool, down-to-earth, and funny. LOL. I get that reaction all the time! :XD
Joe Coe embarrassing to hang out with in public given the way he dresses
In another timeline Seth died and that world does not have Family Guy
Family Guy was already around at the time. It just would've ended at season 3. American Dad wouldn't have existed though. Pretty crazy.
isn’t it weird that 10 minutes is all it takes to change the world
Wow, the story of him missing that flight is insane.
Seth seems really down to earth.
What if while on the way to stop themselves from telling their earlier selves about 9/11 they get Seth McFarlane to his flight on time and the show never was written or produced?
Coincidentally I'm watching this video exactly 6 years after it was uploaded. Go figure.
I can't imagine sitting around logan airport, mad you missed your flight, only to find out it just crashed into a building. Marky Mark was also supposed to be on that same flight and he also missed it for some random reason.
Wow, it sure is good that Seth missed that flight. That must be such a weird feeling to have afterwards.
I'd love to go on a drinking binge with Seth MacFarlane! I bet he drifts in and out of his many voices on a whim, not to mention a drunken singalong! He has an amazing voice!
That’s some great quality for a vid in 2011
HD was already around in 2011. It'd actually be impressive if this was 2001 or 1991.
I love love love watching him do Stewie's voice. It just makes me happy :)
While that episode of Family Guy is entertaining and there is a serious point to be made about context and not tampering with the past this episode actually serves a greater purpose in how we study history.
Something that has become a bit more popular recently is the counter-factual, which is when people look at a historical event and try to imagine what would have happened if you changed on key factor. This is actually un-constructive because there aren't the means to balance all the variables of a particular event and if you know anything about chaos theory you'll realize that even a minor change in the initial values (in this case the initial events that, for example, started a war, or the initial speech that got a movement off the ground) can lead to a massively different and often unexpected outcome.
And in the wider context it shows how limited our knowledge of what COULD have been actually is and so theorizing about a past without someone like Joseph Goebbels or where Lee Harvey Oswold missed (I know there are dozens of other theories about that one but I'm just using the official story for an example) is entertaining and fascinating but actually unproductive when it comes to actually studying an event.
And that's also a point that is made (whether accidentally or intentionally) by any show or film where someone has to deal with the consequences of tampering with the past.
The world needs people like Seth to balance out the stupidity.
yeah
Man that comment was 11 years ago. Funny how it became much worse
@@BaineBloodhof yeah
My mom had a friend who had the EXACT same situation as Seth he was drinking the night before and missed his taxi to the first plane that hit.
