I agree with you 100%. I don’t understand how you can tell someone to go back to work after watching a plane pummel through the building right next to you, killing hundreds. To pretend it didn’t happen (telling her coworker nothing was wrong with the other tower??) it’s just bleh. Crazy to think so many might’ve been saved if we’d known it was intentional earlier, not some airline failure, and if the workers been allowed to leave and not told to stay.
Edit: late but I see y’all’s reply and agree. My comment was kinda emotionally charged, that’s mb, thanks for correcting me.

While I 100% agree that there should have been no incentive to get people back to work, you have to realize things were very confusing at the time. Most people didn't even know it was a plane that hit Tower One and instead thought it was an explosive malfunction or similar. You even have stories from people a few floors below the damaged area thinking it was an explosion, because who in their right mind would think it was a plane? People who saw the plane on the ground were actively making comments on videos that implied they thought the plane had a malfunction or something happened to the pilot, not a terrorist attack. Many news stations at first thought it was a bombing and some would report that people were saying it was a plane but to hold all statements with consideration until they could verify what it actually was. The only reasonings I can see for the Port Authority to tell people to go back to work is that 1. They thought this was a one off incident that posed no risk to Tower Two 2) It's a common disaster policy to keep people in place to prevent further causalities 3) Putting people back to work would calm the growing panic in Tower Two and 4) Yes money is also a factor. From everything I've read, listened too, and examined shows people just trying their best with the unexplainable which is why I feel looking with compassion at the actions of that day is necessary.

My mother worked in the second tower. She was 28 at the time and had just got back to New York from a business trip the day before. She had went up to the 98th floor where she worked and went on with her normal work day when someone had told her a plane hit the first tower, she didn’t believe them at first but then panic broke out so she took an elevator down to the lobby, she had just left the building when she heard the 2nd plane hit. My mom would tell me that the only way she could describe the sound of the plane hitting was “it sounded like the world was ending” my mom never looked behind her, she didn’t want to see the chaos that was happening. She says she doesn’t remember anyone’s faces that day besides one woman who she saw in shear terror. The lady pointed up and said “they’re jumping” my mom kept running and didn’t stop until my father picked her up on the Brooklyn bridge. My mom said after that day she felt blessed to still be alive and wanted more kids. I was born 13 months later in October of 2002. It’s crazy to think that if my moms buisness trip was just a day longer I might not have ever been born.

🪡 THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God saves man from the destruction of this old world"
(John was born of promise, just as Isaac was born to Abraham. John was born of promise, and the angel gave him his name. At that time, some wanted to name him after his father that was Zacharias, but his mother spoke, saying, "This child cannot be called by that name. He must be called John." This was all commanded by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was also named according to the commandment of Holy Spirit, He was born of the Holy Spirit, and by the promise of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God, the Christ, and the Son of man. What exactly is the difference between the work that Jesus did and that done by John? Although John also said, "Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand," and he also preached the gospel of the kingdom of heaven, his work was not further developed and only formed the beginning. In contrast, Jesus ushered in a new age and also brought the old age to an end, but He also fulfilled the law of the Old Testament. John only prepared the way. John was a great prophet (Elijah) who initiated a new basis for the work of Jesus and prepared the elect; he is the forerunner of the Age of Grace. Because of this, determining the difference of their own identities can only be done through their work, because it cannot be said that a person's outward appearance is his spirit, nor can a person know the true testimony of the Divine that Spirit. Here it can be determined whether John is God or not. Jesus' work was to begin, continue, finish, and fulfill. And so, Jesus did the work of God Himself, and He is God Himself and directly represents God.)
      Almighty God said
JOHN was BORN through the PROMISE, just like ISAAC was BORN to ABRAHAM. He PREPARED the WAY for JESUS and did many works, but he is not God. Instead, he was a prophet because he only prepared the way for Jesus. His work was also great, and only after he had prepared the way did Jesus' work officially begin. ☀️
In essence, he only labored for Jesus, and his WORK was SERVING the WORK of JESUS. After he prepared the way, Jesus began His work, work that was newer, more specific, and more detailed. JOHN DID ONLY THE INITIAL WORK; JESUS DID MORE NEW WORKS. ☀️
JOHN DID A NEW WORK, BUT HE DID NOT DELIVER A NEW AGE. JOHN WAS BORN THROUGH THE PROMISE, and the ANGEL GIVEN his NAME. At that TIME, some wanted to name him after his father Zacharias, BUT HIS MOTHER SPOKE, saying, "This child cannot be called by that name. He must be called John." ☀️
It is ALL COMMANDED by the HOLY SPIRIT. JESUS was also NAMED by the COMMANDMENT of the HOLY SPIRIT, HE WAS BORN by the HOLY SPIRIT, and THROUGH the PROMISE of the HOLY SPIRIT. JESUS is the GOD, the CHRIST, and the SON OF MAN. 🙏☀️
John's work was also great, but why was he not called God? What exactly is the difference between the work done by Jesus and that done by John? Is the only reason that John prepared the way for Jesus?
Or because God has ordained it?
Even though JOHN also SAID, "Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is near," and he also PREACHED the GOSPEL of the KINGDOM of HEAVEN, his WORK was NOT DEVELOPED and only BUILT A BEGINNING. ☀️
In contrast, JESUS DELIVERED a NEW AGE and also BRINGED the OLD AGE to the END, but He also FULFILLED the ORDER of the Old Testament. ☀️
The work He did was greater than John's, and besides, He CAME to REDEEM ALL mankind---He did that PHASE of WORK. John only PREPARED the WAY. Although his work was great, he had many words, and many disciples followed him, his work brought no more fruit than to bring a new beginning to man. Man never received from him the life, the way, or deep truths, nor did he gain any understanding of God's will through him.
JOHN was a GREAT prophet (Elijah) who INITIATED a NEW BASIS for the WORK of JESUS and PREPARED the ELECTED; he is the FORERUNNER of the AGE of GRACE. ☀️
Such things cannot be recognized simply by looking at their normal human forms. Especially since John also did some great work and, moreover, he was born by the promise of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit supported his work. ☀️
Because of this, determining the difference of their own identities can only be done through their work, because one cannot tell from the outward appearance of a person his spirit, nor can a person know the true testimony of the Divine that Spirit. The WORK that JOHN DID and what JESUS DID are NOT SIMILAR and DIFFERENT in NATURE. Here it CAN BE DETERMINED if JUAN is GOD or NOT. JESUS' WORK is to BEGIN, CONTINUE, END, and FULFILL. ☀️🙏
Jesus took each of these steps, whereas John's work was no more than a beginning. IN THE BEGINNING, JESUS SPREAD THE GOSPEL and PREACHED the way of REPENTANCE, THEN BAPTIZED PEOPLE, HEALED THE SICK, and CAST OUT DEMONS. ☀️
FINALLY, HE REDEEMED HUMANITY from SIN and COMPLETED HIS WORK for ALL AGE. He also PREACHED to PEOPLE and SPREADED the GOSPEL of the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IN ALL PLACES. It is the SAME as JOHN, whose DIFFERENCE is BECAUSE JESUS DELIVERED a NEW AGE and BRINGED to PEOPLE an AGE of GRACE. 🙏
THE WORD CAME FROM HIS MOUTH about what MAN should DO and the WAY MAN should FOLLOW in the AGE of GRACE, and in the end, He FINISHED THE WORK OF REDEMPTION. Juan could never perform such a task. And so, JESUS DOES the WORK of GOD HIMSELF, and He is GOD HIMSELF and directly REPRESENTS God. 🙏
Human understandings say that all those who are born of promise, born of the Spirit, confirmed by the Holy Spirit, and who open new ways out are God. According to this reasoning, John is also God, and Moses, Abraham, and David..., all of them are also God. Isn't this a big joke?
From "The Mystery of Incarnation (1)"
Fulfilled in "When I looked up, someone handed me a book wrapped in a scroll. I opened it and I read on both sides the prayers, lamentations, and curses." (Ezekiel 2:9-10). ... "His garment was stained with blood. He was called the "Word of God" (Rev. 19:13).

I never really took the time to consider how difficult it must have been for 9/11 survivors to simply exist in this city afterwards. Besides the visual reminders and never being allowed to forget, whether they wanted to or not. The sensory triggers, such as loud noises, burning smells, random screaming, sirens, airplane engines, etc. must have been (and probably still is) tortuous. The financial firm "Cantor Fitzgerald" occupied floors 101-105 in the (north) Tower 1 (first tower struck) with a staggering loss of all 658 employees who were present in the tower on 9/11, the greatest loss of life of any company occupying the WTC.

Never blindly listen to authority in emergency situations. Especially if that "authority" is your workplace. I was working for Chase Bank at the time as a bill collector for auto finance and I was on an automatic dialer for the north east. I remember feeling awful about saying "Hi I'm calling about your late payment" while all this was going on. Our managers told us to get back to work even as the towers were falling. I told myself nope no way. So when the caller picked up I just hung up the phone. Point is... companies only care about their numbers. If they can tell you to get back to work they will. To be fair though, some of that could have been on instructions of emergency authorities. Maybe not what your boss said specifically but there was guidance to not evacuate the south tower after the north tower was hit because of course no one knew this was a multi-plane coordinated terrorist attack. The thinking was probably to not clog the streets or underground so that evacuees from the north tower could get out. Also, no one knew at the time the tower would collapse. The buildings had been rated to survive 737 hits, just not 767’s. But that’s only a detail we could gleam later. At the time most were reporting it was a small plane that hit the north tower.

The kingdom He brought down and set up in the highest in the sky so that it can occupy His creation in the universe and engrave on it the entirety of His Holy name "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD" 💐 fulfillment of (Mat. 16:18) "And I say as for you, you are Peter, on top of this rock I will build my Church, that even the power of death will not prevail over it.". ... and "The Letter to the Church in Philadelphia" (Rev. 3:7-13). ... And fulfillment of "The New Jerusalem" 💫 "The Spirit enveloped me, and the angel led me to the top of a very high mountain. He showed Me Jerusalem, the Holy City, coming down from heaven from God." (Rev. 3:7-13). ... " For the time has come in the house of God for the beginning of judgment in the house of God." (1 Peter 4:17). ... It is fulfilled that God Himself is our Pastor in (Rev. 7:17) 💐
"For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their PASTOR. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water; and God will wipe the tears from their eyes"
📩 Calling and leading the sheep of God to His glorious Throne "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD"💐 to submit again to His authority so that He will continue to teach, guide and protect even in plague, famine and wild animals will not be moved by it and completely win this final battle with the big red dragon!
"They say with a loud voice, "Salvation comes from the Lamb, and from our God who sits on the Throne!" (Rev. 7:10). ... and it will be fulfilled that will be established above the sky/CZcams in (Isaiah 2: 2 / 9:6) "On the Last Day, the mountain on which Jehovah's temple stands will stand out above all the mountains. All nations will flock there. " . . . "For a baby boy is born to us. The rule will be given to him; and he shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." 📨📨

And a huge part of that was because of people like your friend. I can't imagine having to direct that many people, many of who are in a panic, some of which are wounded, out of a building complex that is under a terrorist attack. And the firemen having to walk up those stairs, that is some real crazy badass shit.

If they knew the structure relied on trusses to stabilize the external metal shell, they likely wouldn’t have declared their building “safe,” as at the very least, the top of that building would be coming down, and possibly harming the adjacent building. Even the architect said that they didn’t plan for a kerosene fire or a jet impact destroying 10 floors of the core, including all the trusses stabilizing that section of the building.

Building security never told people to stay in the towers. In fact building security actually activated the fire alarm in building two and made announcements telling people that they recommended to evacuate building 2 but if they would like to stay that was also fine as they also said building 2 was secure there was no need to evacuate but it would be very n best interests if people did anyway.

Just yesterday I saw a video here on YT about the restaurant that was located in the North Tower, on the 106th and 107th floors, called "Windows on the World". They were at the restaurant's breakfast service. In the video it is clear that no one above the impact site survived.
It's incredible how she knew the escape route, via the stairs, but the person taking her to the elevator helped her. In any case, in an emergency, elevators are not the best means of escape. But in this case, no one knows if she would have been able to climb down all those floors using the stairs.

Well, Mikaila certainly made the best decision of her life not following instructions to go back to work. If you want to hear about the most incredible story, look up Brian Clark. He was on the 89th floor of Tower two (south tower) when the plane hit. He helped people, make it down through the impact point and made it home via public transport most of the way and was home by 1:15pm. Everything worked out for him, as if a higher power was looking after him, including what seemed to be a bubble of clean air around his head many times. He's the most incredible orator as well and gives speeches at schools etc. One of them is posted here on CZcams.

We lost him about ten years ago to a "genetic family lung disease" which no one else in our family has ever been diagnosed. I'm just putting together that it was probably exposure to this dust cloud that ruined his lungs. RIP Andy, another victim of this tragedy, miss you always and forever my baby brother. 💪

Was in the staircase in 20’s when the second plane hit and we were evacuated through the mall to the E train and then to the end of platform and out of the station. First responders were smart in doing this, to get people as far away from the towers as possible. I thought about heading towards the Brooklyn Bridge but we ended up heading north and did not get caught in the dust cloud. I worked downtown up until 2020 and everyone down there was breathing that air which we were told was ok but then years later, we’re told it was not.
The heartache we feel for people we didn’t even know, the lives lost and the loved ones left behind. 22 years and it - still - hurts. 36 year old me feels as much sorrow today as 14 year old me did when it happened. Much love and big big hugs to those directly impacted who are no doubt still dealing with it all. 😢❤

Same. I was in 8th grade just starting my 2nd class, Social Studies. That was when my teacher from my Math/English class came in crying telling us a plane hit the first tower.

@@drake06660that was my experience too. Only it was a tower in my city bombed by US. Innocent people died and I cried. That was 2 years before 9/11. So when 2001 came and I saw this on TV, I didn’t cry.

The fact that she remembers it so vividly that she could explain it in detail makes me feel so bad for her. look how horrible this day was.

She looks very young. I’m so surprised how many young people worked there. I was 6 days away from turning 17 that day. She looks like she’s about 45. Little older than me.

What a brave girl! Unbelievable she was so in tune to her surroundings and I believe the “zombie phenomenon” is our mind’s way of coping!! Thank you for your story and allowing us to hear your pain and your triumph
