The Army Painter Character Started Set - Honest Review

- My plan for this weeks video was to put this starter set threw its paces. I wanted to see how much bang for your buck you could actually achieve with just the included materials. I will be the first to admit I am not happy with the face and I honestly believe that is user error mostly due to my unfamiliarity with "The Army Painter" brand paints. I will definitely be revisiting this down the road and attempting to redo the face as I think my flaw was mixing the two flesh tones included in the box.

Nice review and would like how you paint the other miniatures
I'm planning to paint a few of them on a live stream shortly after the holidays.
I love a lot of The Army Painter’s products. Some of their normal paints I find work better when thinned with airbrush thinner. Their leather brown speed paint is magic in a bottle.
The more I played around with these the more I figured this out. a drop of airbrush thinner goes a long way.
@@tabletop-glory yeah, I really wish they included a small dropper in their paint sets and some instructions on using thinner in their instructions. I really enjoy their stuff and once you learn a few extra needed steps, their stuff really shines. Their airbrush line is amazing and they built in a “base” “mid” “high” color shade into their lines that has really helped me as a colorblind painter.
@@polkstyle77 As a colorblind painter I enjoy there clear labeling. Don't get me wrong I like seeing the color in the bottle but with citadel and a few other brands; rely on you being able to see the color.
love the cloak pattern want it on a real life jacket
also heads up I think the music is a little bit loud when your speaking. depending on what you edit in there are a few ways to automate dampening it when you speak.
@@fisherjam5182 thanks ill try and improve on that in my next video.
