Towns is really a unique talent being 6.11 and 250lb but playing like 6.4 and 190lb especially on defense.
It’s truly impressive how much he commits to being a shooting guard despite being nearly 7 feet tall.

Hacia el aro, con rapidez y buenos cortes, compañeros atrevidos para dar el pase, línea de tres siempre poblada y sin descartar jugaba individual. Me gusta. Además Karl es de mis preferidos. Les deseo suerte y mucha salud. Canadá con buenas ideas también. Le falta más defensa para usar el planteamiento de juego al contraataque. Y algo de rebote. Si mejoran será un rival destacado. KAT is a monster with the ball, and a non-factor on defense. This game demonstrated exactly why the Wolves gave away the farm to add Gobert to the team and move KAT out to mostly play PF. He's one of those guys you need to "hide" on D by letting him cover the weakest opposing big, but absolutely must play because he does so much on offense.
Fortunately with Rudy, McDaniels & Ant (plus some good bench guys) the Wolves are stacked on defense even with KAT on the floor. This year is going to be an interesting one for Minnesota.
Having said that, if they don't trade KAT either mid-season or next Summer, they are going into the dreaded new "second apron" of the salary cap rules, so unless Rudy retires early, KAT is probably not going to be a Timberwolf for very much longer.
Outside of the highlights, this game really wasn't a stellar offensive performance for KAT. He led the game in turnovers with 7 while only having 2 assists, and had the worst +/- on his team of -12. Dominican Republic's best offensive stretches were when KAT was sitting on the bench, and the big buckets he hit were all in isolation, rarely getting the others involved. His offense and chemistry with the Wolves really needs to take another step if it's going to make up for his lack of defence IMO
But Rudy is the exact opposite good on Defense but can’t really do nothing on offense. It’s impossible to have them play on the floor at the same time but I feel with the right system and coach it COULD work

The wolves have to trade towns in order to take the necessary step to become a championship team. He is simply an offensive talent who is very soft. A team with a Soft player who doesnt play defence as its centerpiece cant win a championship

@@Moloch187 There is one Nba player on DR and that was he first game with that team, Canada is full of NBA players, even when the starters are not playing there is still some NBAs in the court, the starters also lost the first half and DR played with his "second unit" after the half (well, they are all more or less at the same level) except for Towns cause that was his first game. I am not saying that DR is better than Canada, is not even close in my opinion but you cannot use the argument of the second unit on this one.

@@gabtv2754 yeah, the spread was 11.5 pointa, closer than expected. Both Towns and Clarkson had poor shooting games. If it wasn't for all those FTs Towns got and Clarkson fouling out Gilas could have taken the game. So many stupid mistakes down the stretch. Before that 5 second violation they had, there were several close calls having serious trouble inbounding off a made basket. Really bad stuff.
