    Thank you for giving these animals the care and respect they deserve. 🐷🐖. They are magnificent animals that give so much back to us.

    Very good budget build. Those will be good shelters for the pigs and the hay will keep them warm and comfortable. Great work.

    Thank you so much for your answer. That is what we do now also. I just wish I could think of something else because we also have a milk cow and when I have milk past it’s prime I like to feed it to them. Thanks again for the quick response.

      You could soak your grain in the milk for a day and then feed it to them

    We built one of these and they are AWESOME!! Now if you come up with a feeder idea that the pigs do not tear up, PLEASE post it. Every single thing we feed in has gotten trashed, drug around and pooped/peed in. 🤦🏼‍♀️ And we have tried A LOT of things.

      @ThePasturedHomestead  Před 7 měsíci +2

      The ground! I know some people don’t like feeding on the ground but we’ve had the same issues you have. No matter what we put the feed in, they tip it over and throw it on the ground anyway, so we said let’s just throw it on the ground now. That being said, we don’t throw it on areas that are a mud pit.

    "the wood will rot." They could probably rebuild these 5 or 6x for cheaper than building 1 with cedar.

    Do y’all have day jobs? Just wondering because I was waiting to do what y’all do but didn’t know how to work with a day job and do farm life? Also big fan to support a fellow Kentuckian

      Thank you! My fiancée has a day job. I currently do not! We have very low expenses which allows us to do that. Try to cut costs as much as possible. Even if you have to work, maybe you can take an extra day on the weekend. You could do a lot with that time.
