P.S I'm just a customer I'm not associated with Rails of Sheffield -Just reading some comments I think some people think I work for them.

Absolutely correct ! I am 69 and am planning a large model layout in my converted loft very soon - so have been buying Hornby loco's and coaches, Metcalfe Kits by the dozen etc., my wife already complains that she is an 'editors widow', and now I am about to add to that, a 'railway modellers' widow !
Has to be one of the best looking model shops I've ever seen.

Not a scale model rail fan but a member of the modelling community, this is a fantastic shop. The more of this type of model shop is what is needed to rejuvenate out hobby.
The prices of new stuff is utterly ridiculous
Luckily rails of Sheffield is only 15 minutes away
A little bit more for me... From my hometown of Grenoble, France, it's more like 15 hours by train.
But this shop, one of my providers, is one of the good reasons to go to visit Sheffield.
It's a 40 minute walk from Crookesmoor. But then the hills do give you a work out.
Why Do they still display models that they clearly say sold out as they haven’t as they have one there?

Is the second hand department in a separate place.
Bit of a down . But now days the price has really gone up making it hard to buy new stuff . That's why moding and up dating old stock is a must . Plus love your layout and your old layouts 👍

So from what I heard in the video Hornby aren’t doing anymore is this correct.
Just wondering as I have a Hornby Lion on order and haven’t heard it’s been cancelled or not happening anymore.

He was talking to someone else just as I pressed record. I wouldn't like to comment really as I believe there is legal action going on. However Lion is a real loco so I cant see why Hornby cant do Lion.

WOW! Not exactly competitive pricing. Some of these models are selling for 100 pounds less than you're selling them for... cough... GT3.
Really with sound fitted? Where are you looking? I can see the sound chip on ebay for £125 but that's not including the locomotive.
@@BrockwellLanemodelrailway Ran the video again. Didn't see the "sound fitted" part of the label first time through. The price I mentioned was for a DCC ready loco. Sorry about that.

Not a fan of Rails. There website is one of the poorest going. They sell most of the second hand stuff through E-bay. I don't think there's any for sale on their own web site. Bit odd showing lots of samples. I wouldn't go there just to order something that's not out. Wasted journey!!

Worldwide mail order... Because the UK is no longer an EU member, EU residents sometimes pay more in customs fees on ordered goods than the list price.
