  • Another month, another great event at Rails of Sheffield! We recently welcomed the team from Accurascale along to takeover our shop for two whole days. An incredible range of samples were on show for the entire range, with many models available now or due to arrive by the end of 2024. Watch on to see all the plans for the next year...

A Class 185 DMU would be good. They operate over quite a wide area across the North and would complement items in your existing range. I’d also like to see an 00 gauge Class 120 DMU, which also worked a lot of areas of England, Wales and Scotland. They’ve been much requested in wishlist polls for many years, and despite one supposedly in work in N, no one has risen to the challenge yet in 00!

Another run of the MK5s would be welcome but please improve the lighting. The lighting should be like the recent MK2s. Also, factory installed chip with stay alive in the DVT for the TransPennine should be standard. I’d also like to suggest that you offer factory fitted crew option for those of us that prefer this. Retro fitting crew is a faff and can easily lead to damage to your loco.

A rerun of the Mk5 coaches would be great.
For ideas of new exclusive locomotives, the GWR The Great Bear 4-6-2 comes to mind.
For something smaller, the Duke of Sutherland’s 0-4-4T Dunrobin would be nice. It’ll fit different eras including preservation. With the same tooling you might be able to do the Highland Railway W Class 0-4-4T which were near identical from my understanding. The HR ones would fit different eras and complement other brands’ products potentially increasing sales.

As for future projects my vote goes to a class 442 wessex electrics (and my dream scenario is you'd have end units available individually or 2/3 car options also being available to make it more affordable and possible to run on smaller layouts!) Keep up the excellent work!

Just doing some basic MSRP maths.
      1 x accurascale coach £59.95
      1x accurascale class37 £169.99
so 4 car 325 could be around £350
      169.99 + (3 x 59.99) = 349.96
This should be able to cover D&D, tooling etc... come one Accurascale get on it!!

For an exclusive model with Rails - you mentioned about a one off prototype like the class 89. How about the prototype Pacer 140001, or prototype sprinter class 151. Maybe a class 81 or for something a little different, LUL 1972 stock (multiple liveries and 50+ years of service to maximise the tooling investment).

Congrtatulations to Accurascale and Rails for these exciting announcements! The 'Buckjumper' is on my wanted list already! With respect to new models may I suggest something from the following list of steam locomotives not yet modelled in OO gauge. (1) The LNER B16 4-6-0......this is crying out to be modelled! There are different versions to make maximum use of the tooling. (2) The L&Y 'A' class 0-6-0. There are preserved examples of this sturdy loco. The engines were to be found all over Lancashire and parts of Yorkshire. (3) The LBSC 'K' Class 2-6-0. Another loco full of character. (4) A Caledonian 4-4-0. Scotlands' railways are not particularly represented compared with England but a Caley engine would be wonderful!!....... and finally a little engine (5) the Kitson 0-4-0ST. Again different versions.......I would love to hear responses from Acurascale and/or Rails on these suggestions. Thank you once again.....the Manors are superb!!

But most desirable would be LMS period 1 and 2 coaches as they are almost completely absent from rtr yet there are so many suitable locomotives made by various manufacturers for these.

LBSCR L class Baltic tank. No one has produced a Baltic type (not including the Triang continental model). It can run with pre-grouping and southern models. The chassis can be utilised later for an N15x. You have 333 remembrance for a special edition. It will accompany the rails terrier nicely. It's interesting enough for a rule 1 purchase. There are many sound reasons to consider the L class tank engine.

I’d second both of those choices. The Airfix derived Mk2D toolings are fast approaching 50 years old and the Bachmann Voyager is a bit long in the tooth, not DCC ready, plus there is a new Cross Country livery that is going to be applied to their refurbished sets. Both have massive geographic spread across the UK and would complement existing ranges.

Loco - 37116 after its Donny refurb as Sister Dora.
Coaches - More runs of test train coaches would be well received. Also res PCV. I know it’s already been done but they are like rocking horse poo to get hold of. Could also lead into doing a 307!
Wagon - thought about this the other day and anything that used to drop onto the enterprise services of the 90’s/00’s. 609’s, 610’s would be good

There is new “game changer” OLE from West Wagon Works , you are making a supper detailed Class 89 . But there is a hugh hole of Class 81/82/83/94 - any of these would be great .

Another run of the Mk5's... yes please! :) One of the things that bugs me with the hobby is how quick some models go out of stock / limited runs etc.

Bulleild Tavern coaches. Long overdue for OO RTR treatment l. They would be a huge hit as they were a novelty and served on most regions.

It would be nice to see the herring ballast wagon, as the Cambrian kit is a nightmare to build,

I was at the Key Model World show. I stated then that I'd like to see a second run of the Caledonian Sleeper coaches. I hope you will do. I think I saw them in this video. I hope you will do. Tim

Would love to see the Caledonian McIntosh '439' class being produced for 4mm. No.419, currently in traffic at Bo'ness, is the flagship loco of the Scottish RPS.
Mk 5s are a bit too modern for me, but go for it if you reckon the demand is there.
