About the chant:
At his coronation as king of France, Louis IX bound himself by oath to behave as God’s anointed, as the father of his people and feudal lord of the King of Peace. Other kings had done the same, of course. Louis was different in that he actually interpreted his kingly duties in the light of faith. After the violence of two previous reigns, he brought peace and justice.
The axis of the song centers around Louis' appeal to his barons, who have doubts and excuses for not accompanying him. However, the king will contest his objections one by one. At the end of the song the king will succeed in convincing his vassals to accompany him, and then they embarked for Egypt.
Louis deserves credit for extending justice in civil administration. His regulations for royal officials became the first of a series of reform laws. He replaced trial by battle with a form of examination of witnesses and encouraged the use of written records in court.

Another particular issue would be that Casimier never inherited Rus, he merely had a political pretension. (Yuri Boleslav and Casimier were hostile, Yuri was ultimately poisoned, and then ready Polish forces instantly assaulted Rus, which implied straightforward plot against the hospodar).
Also Rus wasn't part of Lithuania, as hospodar Lubart was a sovereign ruler simply related to Lithuanian royal family, he inherited Ruthenian throne via legal marriage.

Hello. I'm not writing this in response to this new video in particular-- but I've been through a very hard time the last 6 months. So many times, the music on this channel has literally been what has enabled me to continue on with daily chores and instilled courage. In particular, the Templar playlist is what does this-- not really sure why, but it's good background music for working, expressing pain and renewing courage. Also, I am a cradle Roman catholic and have been inquiring into Orthodoxy since Feb 2021, but personal circumstances are making it impossible to continue further. I can't tell you how much it means to have you put this kind of stuff up here since I technically a Catholic but no longer belong anywhere. It's just a comfort.
Please find a good catholic priest that says the Latin mass only and speak to him about your situation. There was a time in the past when I was frustrated with the church and thought about orthodoxy. I eventually discovered the truth in the traditional catholic faith with all its richness and beauty instead of the watered down version I saw in my regular parish.

I really really love this channel and all the effort put into every single one of these beautiful pieces of art. I for one am not particularly Christian or of any other religion (i was born in the 90s in East Germany, and the Soviets did quite the job at discouraging people of any religion). If anything, I'm more Buddhist than anything else. Still I adore the exceptionally beautiful and touching music of this channel and keep coming back. For me, it is a sign that humans, no matter their origin, beliefs etc are still able to comfort, help and even heal each other and produce the most beautiful of things imaginable, which for me personally is music itself.
