I’m thinking of getting this for the sole purpose of a security camera system monitor. Just going to plug an HDMI cable into it. Will this stay on 24/7 without going to sleep on its own? Also can I skip all the logging in at the beginning and access the hdmi use it for the tv purpose? And can you adjust brightness as well?
I don't think you can skip the beginning... at that point maybe just grab a computer monitor as that would make more sense and take care of your 24/7 needs as well!
Getting the 32 inch 1080p version of this for the cave. I don't need any of the "smart" stuff, but at this price point I don't think you can buy a TV without any of it. All I'll be doing with this is hooking up my blu ray player, and my consoles to it. My Gamecube, and PS2 are on a composite hub so thankfully I only need one set of those on the TV. The added headphone jack is a huge thing for me too since I watch movies with my headphones, and don't use the speakers. I have a 28 inch Insignia that I love, but it's supposedly 720p. I say supposedly because when I turn it on the TV info box says HDMI (1) 1080p/60Hz despite it being advertised as 720p. Since my Asus PC monitor is a 27 inch 1080p I find it hard to pull away from my PC to watch DVDs, lol. The 32 inch will be the size incentive I need to watch my stuff on the TV/blu ray when I'm not being lazy, lol. I was a bit worried about the remote being voice because I thought it only had the voice button on it, but I'm guessing you can control the TV with it too. All I need the remote for is turning it on, and switching sources. Thank you for the review. It was a lot of good info, and the TV seems like a good deal for the price. since I'm buying all the MCU movies up to Endgame that I need, and have been buying REALLY good DVDs/blu rays from Goodwill, I finally have a reason to upgrade my TV. I mean, c'mon, ya can't beat $2 for DVDs, and blu rays, and some of them were factory sealed!

@@tvchef I ended up going with a 40 inch Insignia non-smart TV, and bought a firestick for it. That way I can use the firestick on any TV, and I ended up saving about $40 by doing it that way.
I see it responded quickly when opening Amazon's app; looking at the 32inch 1080p. Question, can it open OTA channels; example> can I say open grit TV, like you opened Amazon Shopping? Don't want to scroll through all OTA channels, to find the channel I prefer! Haven't look at any TV's with a remote that doesn't have numbers, for that reason. At least with the numbers on remote I can go directly to preferred channel. Appreciate your video, your one of the first that showed how to get to OTA, also how good it looked with good reception. 👍🏻👍🏻
For OTA channels you would have to open it via a built in tv guide/menu in the TV! Unless the channel has its own streaming App which could very well be possible depending on the channel!

I would hope to hook up my Fibe account with it as well as Crave, though you didn't show that. 1 - You can use the voice remote as is! No need to connect to other devices 2 - They have some free live tv and programming if you connect to wifi... bring your own antenna to get over the air tv in your area 3 - If you are already in the google ecosystem that might be the best fit for you... I don't know anything about Fibe or Crave.
@@tvchef I am waiting for the 1080 24" to arrive, will let you know how it goes. It is for the 'kitchen', so will fit in nicely. Fibe is Bell Fibe tv- it's an app that plays all the tv stations i am subscribed to with my TV/internet package at 500mbps up and down, hope to be able to load that 'app' as well as Crave, another streaming service here in Canada. I was able to load them both on a Roku tv I had here for a month, worked fine. Bell tv will also be available via hdmi from a second tv box, and it is the same content as the Fibe app which is the wireless feed of the same channels. I got the 24" tv open box deal for ~$140CAD, or ~$110USD. Worth a try with a good return policy from Bestbuy.
Just got the 39" Fire Tv. Is there any way to make it wide screen? I find some of the older shows have spaces on either side of the picture. My old Vizio allows you to stretch to make it wide screen. I can't see how to do it with this TV. Thanks. Enjoyed the video.
Great question. Not sure if this would fix your issue but you could try these steps: Go to the settings menu. Select ‘Display and Sounds.’ Select ‘Display.’ Navigate to ‘Calibrate Display.’ Adjust the display according to the preview on the screen. Confirm changes or select ‘reset.’ Good luck!
