  • Søren Aabye Kierkegaard was a profound and prolific writer in the Danish “golden age” of intellectual and artistic activity. His work crosses the boundaries of philosophy, theology, psychology, literary criticism, devotional literature and fiction. Kierkegaard brought this potent mixture of discourses to bear as social critique and for the purpose of renewing Christian faith within Christendom. At the same time he made many original conceptual contributions to each of the disciplines he employed. He is known as the “father of existentialism”. His work explored emotions of individuals when faced with life choices.

Ma'am, it's very informative for me, as well as "ON THE OTHER SIDE OF FEAR ".
I read Soren Kierkegaard's powerful quote, "When I was very young and in the cave of Trophonius I forgot to laugh. Then, when I got older, when I opened my eyes and saw the real world, I began to laugh and I haven’t stopped since. I saw that the meaning of life was to get a livelihood, that the goal of life was to be a High Court judge, that the bright joy of love was to marry a well-off girl, that the blessing of friendship was to help each other out of a financial tight spot, that wisdom was what the majority said it was, that passion was to give a speech, that courage was to risk being fined 10 rix-dollars, that cordiality was to say ‘You’re welcome’ after a meal, and that the fear of God was to go to communion once a year. That’s what I saw. And I laughed"
Keep it up, you deserve more subscribers 🙏

People think that they are living thier best life if they have a good job, a nice family, intelligent children and a respected image in society. This is the definition of modern world and if people are able to achieve it then they are a success otherwise a failure. But what people are not seeing is the fact that this criteria of a good life is created by present/modern society and societies always change. Birth is an accident, suppose if you were not born in this time and in this era but somewhere in the medieval era then would the meaning of life remain same as today's??? Definitely not, in medieval era you were supposed to become something else and hold different beliefs than today's time. Because you are present in 21st century so you will live according to rules set by present culture and society. Similarly 100 years from now the meaning of life for your descendants would be different than yours. Crux: Life is nothing but a product of faith, values, morals, beliefs, rules of culture/society of the time you are present in. Societies change with time and so the purpose and meaning of life. So, don't be so serious in your life, just live it as peacefully as you can eventually to die one day.

Kierkegaard's philosophy is best n amusing too 😂😆

You might find it amusing because we live in 21st century and he wrote everything according to the times he was living in, such as the hardship he faced in life and most importantly psychologically.
Philosophy is all about perceiving the things from philosopher's point of view or making a connection with him, if only the person has also felt something like that in his own life or he can imagine the philosophers life.
But if he is not able to make that connection, in that case Philosophy would seem amusing indeed. Coz it wont make much sense! 😊
