What he was saying was that during his tenure in TNA, David Sahadi and Keith Mitchell wanted Cornette to be the only person in the TV truck because he had the most experience in production. Savio Vega was hard to understand due to his accent being so thick. Brian James AKA Road Dogg had some issues at that time and as Jim explained that he was somewhat unreliable with some of the details.

Beaver Cleavage, Ed Ferrara as Oklahoma in WCW, having a woman in the cruiserweight division in WCW as well, ran Hulk Hogan off, etc. To some people's credit, Russo did a couple of things right: gave Booker T a rightful deserving chance at the WCW world heavyweight championship, gave Bret Hart title matches and that's about it. A lot of people like to give Russo a lot of shit just because of the stuff he pulled and the stuff he wrote, and I can understand that, but let's be honest here, out of all the things Russo did wrong over the years in whatever company he was in, he did a few things right. Debate me if you want, that's just me.

The problem is the type of fans shifted from jocks to nerds since the 1980's and nerds prefer the flippy, soap opera bullshit Russo and New Japan put out while the old school pro wrestling jocks prefer the old style with real looking contact. Cornette has said that younger fans can get into the old stuff and like it just fine. Hell I got into the Fuller territory back in 2013 and its been gone since 1990. Jim Cornette's 2018 thoughts on Russo are pretty much the same as his 2017 ones. And his 2016 ones. In fact, the only thing that's changed on Cornette's opinion of Russo in about 20 years is the number of Russo-related incidents that Cornette can cite when explaining the source of his hatred.
Cornette tried to work with Russo back in the 2000 in TNA, Cornette tried to put aside their differences in TNA and just do his job...yet...smh
