I also want to insulate my doors. Is that possible without taking everything apart? or does that differ per model and year? Can I reach enough by simply raising the panel slightly?
There is a guide that says you can get away with only detaching the glass, but not completely disassembling the lock and the handle. Essentially, there is a tape on the edge of the door card, that holds the locking mechanism to the door card and if you cut you can leave the lock and the handle attached to the door. It's not the perfect solutions but definately better than detaching everything from the door.
