    I have the Kreg Rip Cut and it is a great tool. When I use it, I cut the plywood just a tiny big larger then run it through the table saw for perfection. It is also a great tool to have to cut your sheet goods down in the parking lot to make them fit into a small car. I use my little Ryobi saw on it.

    Please do a side-by-side comparison video of the Kobalt TS10602 Table Saw to the DeWalt DWE7491RS (you've previously touted as best contractor table saw) and the Skil TS6307-00 (you've previously touted as the best budget contractor table saw). You can add others if you'd like, but I want to know how you think the Kobalt stacks up against two you've already raved about. It is great to see Kobalt and Craftsman getting some 731 love for a change. Thank you.

    The brushless drill and impact is jam up. Good value if you already have the batteries for other tools. They should however come with belt clips. Amazon will sell you generic belt clips for like $6 though. Not really a woodworking tool but the craftsman caulk gun is great addition for around $50.

I ordered a cheap replacement from Amazon, actually 2 replacements, and 6 months later, the 2nd pad is still in its packaging. Maybe I just got a bad pad, or I did something I wasn’t supposed to. Man I bought that Kreg rip jig to cut down sheet good and every single time I use it finds a new way to make me more inventive with curse words. I found just clamping a straight edge down grants me all the flexibility in any infinite number of sizes and directions I need while maintaining a proper straight cut, while only being slightly more annoying to set up each time.

    Great review! That Skil router looks really nice. Two feedback comments. (1) The Craftsman Sander (and it's sister from DeWalt) uses a dust collection connection that doesn't fit neatly with a Ridgid vacuum. Need a Fenco attachment to make it work seamlessly (and cheaply!!!!). (2), the Kreg rip cut is a little tricky to use because you have to have one hand on the saw and one on the guide, and yes it will can (and probably will at some point) "walk" on you (I know from from experience). It is best used on a big piece of Styrofoam (like they recommend) underneath the material. I have mixed feelings about both of these tools.
    But! You are my number one guide for "basic affordable tools" and I am so thankful for your review on the Skil Table Saw -- best purchase I ever made. Keep up the good work! This is a great channel and I love your humble approach (1 Pet 5:5-6).

    I would like a more in depth review of that Kobalt table saw. I am hoping to get a saw in the next 6 months or so. Such a video would be helpful.

    Hey Matt, hope you see this. You featured a custom made, 3D printed edge guide for orbital sanders in some of your videos and I am trying to find them but I don’t remember the makers name and can’t find them anywhere. Would you happen to remember? Thanks in advance. God bless!

    I have the rip cut and I confirm the review. While track saws are better, this works for much less money

    Will the Kobalt table saw take a dado stack?

    • @bledford13
      @bledford13 Před měsícem +2

      I bought this saw a couple of years ago and returned it because it would not. It says it is Dado blade compatible up to 3/16, which is only 1/16 wider than a standard kerf blade. Ultimately, the arbor just isn't long enough.

    • @JamesSmullins
      @JamesSmullins Před měsícem +2

      I ended up going with ryobi for that reason. Handles a full 13/16 dado which is something I use a lot. I will say if you go with ryobi they have two ten inche. Models, go with the slightly more expensive one. I didn't notice the lower priced one has one miter slot which would be fine if it was on the left side of the blade but it's on the right. The higher priced one has two and is slightly bigger cut capacity though that's not a issue for what I use it for. And toss the stand it comes with away, it's certain to break at the welds and the feet love to disappear Making it hard to keep stable.
