  • Baby Theo was diagnosed with esophageal atresia in utero, a condition where his esophagus does not connect his throat to his stomach. Within an hour of being born, little Theo was admitted to CHEO’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Instead of midnight feedings and diaper changes, his parents were facing a complex medical situation and a long stay at CHEO. Luckily, they have an incredible CHEO team to help them through it and a doctor who was looking at all the options available to treat this condition.
Theo had an innovative surgery that has been performed less than 40 times in North America. Dr. Nasr and his team are doing everything they can to ensure Theo lives his best life.
Watch how innovation and expert care made the best solution possible for this family and their baby boy.
