- CRAPPIE FISHING: Micro Tube Jig & Float - Winter Jigs for Banking Black Crappies. I will not speak for we but I will say, "we always hope for big'ums." Thus I started the day with the heavier tackle. Crappie can be pro-curious critters when they around. I quickly noticed the pecks on my Berkley Powerworm. I slowly set up with a micro forest green tube scented jig and float. The greedy crappies could not help themselves. The black mottled silver beauties kept the angling busy until the sun slowly tricked above the sticky brown blushing tree tops. The hope for the big'um back and never gone.
Hi Jerry, it`s always a good day fishing with you thru your videos. I`d like to share some lure info with you that you might like to try. I use an ultra light spinning set up with 2 lbs. test mono with 12" of 6 lbs. test floro as a bite tippet blood knotted together, the lure is a Creme mijit crawler in the natural color on a hot pink 1/32 ball jig from Bass Pro. I soak the 75 pce. bag of mijit crawlers in a crawfish scent and compete with cormorants. I`ve caught everything from 3" largemouth, 12" crappy and yellow perch, 8" bluegills, pickerel of all sizes, and my personal best 6 lbs. largemouth... almost forgot a 21" 3lbs. 10 oz. brown trout. Not ever that you need help but a little extra can`t hurt. Thanks again for sharing your adventure with us, Peace and brother love to you and all.
LoVe that! Tricking out the hot UUL tackle just plain perfect! Most certain will keep the twanging idea to mind. I have so so much flotsam thus I tend to bounce on what I already have take the day and ride. I do have some berkley mousetails I been meaning to use, sounds so similar. Thank you for sharing the sweet idea Jay!
Hopefully we will see a mouse tail video soon. I`ll be tying some synth Mickys tonight now that my 6 spools of tinsel showed up. If the Mickys work I`ll share the recipe, I layer the body work to make it more durable.@@FishYourWay

@@FishYourWay thank you Jerry . That is very nice of you , Your The Bests . God Bless
Many much welcome
Cool ,I’m heading that way today with my son, it’s been fun and interesting conditions lately , I don’t know how long you used that setup there but I am surprised a perch or bluegill didn’t come up on it. All Crappie non stop. I feel like a perch or sunny would be all over it as well.
Good luck!
Is this in the actual lake or one of the smaller ones ahead of it ?
This is the actual lake
What do you do for work?
Hi Chris that is a good question. Right now I sell mostly vintage tackle (fishing reels mostly) online. But also repair and may buy sell other items. Been doing that a good while. Prior hand had a online bookstore from about when amazon started up with bookseller online. Just started by selling a few old college textbooks and said WOW that easy!?!?! But now just reels. I don't like to mix business with youtube or anything as not everyone is out there to help you and many look to harm you so I like to keep things separate. I have had stalkers on both ends. Time gets busy to so when you have a gazillion people asking for reels and repairs it gets difficult to keep up with. Not much about the money but the satisfaction I like with any work. Anything anytime please ask and thank you always Chris.
I enjoy your videos and like you but your video is clearly showing the location very easy to figure out where you're fishing. It won't be long into the crappie are all cleaned out by the bucket brigade. It's going to be like I wonder what happened to the crappy it used to be a good spot
You are good , I have no idea where Jerry fishes , wish I did 😂
Thank you for watching and commenting I never noticed that
