Speedrun^2 will be a recurring series on this channel where I try to learn a speedrun in a day of a random game like in this video.
A lot of work was put into creating the intro for this (music, logo, the intro itself), so I hope you guys like it and let me know what games you'd like to see (I read every idea, but most games I probably won't add to the list, although don't let that discourage you from suggesting some games)

Big fan of the visuals explaining why you pick up items. It's nice knowing why things are done vs just watching it and assuming it's important
It helped a lot that the editor runs ds3 and knows the route and pick-ups lol

DS3 is the only game I've tried to speedrun, though all through my own knowledge without looking anything up. It's fascinating to see all the sections that can be done differently (You can drop down to skip half of Irithyll dungeon!?) And that a real pro can beat me by half in hour with only a day of practice. Great vid!

Very nice run dude! I got back to Dark souls 3 recently just cause my friend told me he realised that Pontiff is og Margit with his moveset and I said no way man. The visuals and timings are just a bit off but yeah it is same mostly

Hey an idea for a challenge,
Placidusax arena, you vs every boss in the game, 15 at a time but random, so you fight 15 bosses at the same time and after they are dead, 15 more spawn (randomized)

Can I just ask Chris, does the Lothric/Lorian stationary big count as a glitch, which goes against a Glitch less run? Or is it an exploit instead?

I was just going off of the glitchless rules from speedrun.com, which they allow it for that category. It's technically just Lorian not seeing you if you start the phase 2 behind him, and so if you never walk in front of him enough or hit him, he doesn't technically notice you. So it's not like an AI break and technically an exploit instead, but obviously it is kind of lame. If I wasn't already kinda struggling throughout the run/one day to learn I probably would have just learned the fight and fought them lol
@@star0chris To be fair, this is how people find speedrunning strats: one person will find something and then boom everyone does it as it's the fastest, just watch people will be pulling off the Lorian Chris-Can't-See-Star Strat soon

I haven't looked too much into it, as I'm not the biggest fan of soulslikes, but with Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen, I'll probably end up playing both at some point as they look better than most soulslikes out there

lol well it was more like just a marathon speedrun without knowing any real strats and whatnot, just kinda trying to go fast, so it wasn't anything that crazy (they were probably at least like 3 hours or so lol)

Love the speedrun but it's kinda annoying that the editing has a bunch of scenes repeated or in the wrong order ( twice pontiff kill, twice dancer too) because that makes it a bit confusing. No big deal, but it'd be nice to not have those
When there's duplicate kills is because he was practicing. Notice there's a text lower right that says learning /practice at that time? Only the last 2 attempts were real runs and only the final one made it to the end
What he said ^ basically just reloading the save file back to before the fight to practice it
