Only thing i can think about is yhe fact that yuxin could prolly make there own tuttminx if they wanted to and i would pay great money for a modernized tuttminx

I second that, I've been waiting for something like that. Although, the new Classical V2 from VeryPuzzle has that modern touch. It's a great puzzle and turns way better than any other Tuttminx, even Speed Tuttminx.

@SaiyanPony yea I just received the love bird not to long ago. Imma keep looking for a tuttminx to add to my shelf

They probably wouldn't give the designer any credit or royalties, just get the new classical Tuttminx. YuXin's quality control is crap anyway

They're certainly cool looking puzzles, and an interesting addition to any collection. But from a solving perspective, since they're just super megaminxes, they're a bit too simple for my taste. If they'd make gigaminx shape mods in this style, I might be a little more interested.

I would also like to see Gigaminx versions of these, though for me, I more enjoy solving a Megaminx than a Gigaminx, unless I'm in the mood for a long solve that doesn't require too much thinking. The Gigaminx isn't much more difficult than a Megaminx, it's just very time-consuming. Vergo's Pentagram... now that's a challenging puzzle. And I continue to kick myself for having sold it a few years ago. I know that there are still stickered versions available, but I'd love to find a stickerless version again.

@@danavipuzzles7308 Yeah, gigaminx isn't difficult. I'd say easier than a 5x5x5 cube even, since there's no parity. There's just a lot more pieces to move around (same for Teraminx, I have the first mass produced MF8 one, but it's not difficult, just tedious) Though, some sort of gigaminx shape mod might be interesting. Or, as mentioned before, a tuttminx. There are just so many interesting possible shape mods/circle versions/ghost versions of existing puzzles, that I'd like to see mass produced.
Regarding the Vergo Pentagram: I really wanted one, but my experiences with MF8 puzzles, especially the more complex and pricey ones have been so bad, that I decided against buying it. Companies like ShengShou, DianSheng , QiYi and YuXin have almost never let me down.

Hi, solving the last layer (soccer cube) I encountered parity error need to swap 2 adjacent edge pieces. Do you happen to know how to do that?

    • @danavipuzzles7308
      @danavipuzzles7308  Před 2 dny +1

Hi, there is no parity on this puzzle. If you're left with only two pieces to swap then that means that you mismatched one of the other colors in the puzzle. Bear in mind that some pieces look almost identical in color and you can easily put in a piece where the shade is slightly off from what it should be if you're not paying close attention.

@@danavipuzzles7308 FYI- just found out that the stellated Megaminx is a knockoff puzzle that is NOT supported by the original designer. They're working on resolving it. Might be something to mention in the description. As far as I'm aware, the truncated icosahedron is NOT a knockoff, and there's nothing unethical about buying that puzzle, only the star-shaped one.

@@timeisahorse114 Personally, I've always been very much against the whole "knock-off complaining" movement. Got banned from Twisty Puzzles forum over it a few times over the past 6-7 years for speaking my mind. I believe that puzzles should be for everyone and no one should hijack them. Plus, many of these designs and concepts are something that is common knowledge among people who understand twisty puzzles. Just because someone is the first to make one physically doesn't mean they should have any special rights to it, in my opinion. One of the things that pisses me off is puzzle makers who design a puzzle, refuse to allow any manufacturer to make it, and only make limited editions of it themselves for which they charge astronomical prices, or only allow them to be made as custom-made puzzles for very high prices. I've seen that happen with some big names that I won't mention and I don't stand for that. So, the last thing I would care about if this puzzle is a KO or not.
In an ideal world, puzzle manufacturers should ask the original maker of a puzzle for permission to manufacture it and pay some royalties in exchange, and the maker should agree to it. But when makers are too picky or too greedy, the manufacturers sometimes just make them anyway, and I personally think that's a good thing, especially when oftentimes they make it much better than the sanctioned variations of it. I remember that was a whole thing many years ago when Shengshou (was still called Shengshou and not Sengso) made big cubes and V-Cube tried to claim they were KOs, but the fact is that Shengshou's puzzles were MUCH better quality than V-Cube and paved the way to the big cubes we have today. Had V-Cube maintained a monopoly over big cubes, think of where we'd be today with big cubes. So, as far as I'm concerned, manufacturers should make puzzles as they please. They should reach out to the original maker as a courtesy perhaps and offer some royalties, but if the maker refuses, they should make the puzzles anyway in my opinion.
If I'd be designing new puzzles (and I've had ideas, I just haven't had the time to invest into it), I'd be more than happy for manufacturers to make it. Technically, I've designed the Danavi Block I, II, III, and IV 3x3 bandaged variations some years ago. I'd never think to try to monopolize it, and those who do have their priorities mixed up in my opinion. So, hearing that a puzzle is a KO and that it's "unethical" to buy it just makes me want to buy even more of them, as a way of rebelling even more against this whole KO ideology in the world of twisty puzzles.

@@danavipuzzles7308 ShengShou's V-cube KOs are a VERY different situation ,since the concept of NxN cubes was already well-established, unlike this very unusual idea of a stellated Megaminx that YuXin just so happens to have "independently designed" conveniently right after Manqube presented his version with the EXACT same cuts only a few short months prior.
Nobody's trying to "monopolize" any puzzles. Manqube made multiple efforts to resolve the issue with YuXin. It's not rocket surgery to give credit to the original inventor of the puzzle, which YuXin is very adament against doing for some reason. Many other companies have successfully collaborated with designers to make their puzzles more available while still giving them due credit. For example, when mf8 independently designed Eitan's Star, they still credited Eitan and included his logo on the puzzle since he made his first. If anything, it's the companies that usually don't want to mass-produce a niche and unusual puzzle that few people will buy, when they could just stick with what's safe and make more 3x3s.
I don't know where you're getting the idea that YuXin was "the first to make one physically". Most designers 3D-print their puzzles after designing them (if they have access to 3D-printing) to test whether they actually work. Often times, they'll even sell finished versions of their puzzles (at higher prices because they're 3D-printed and a lot more work goes into them, but the prices aren't anything insane, unless they're from Shapeways which recently shut down).
Of course you're going to get banned from the twisty puzzle forum if you don't believe in designers getting credit for their work. We can agree to disagree on this, and I don't care that you bought the Stellaminx (which is a cool puzzle, knockoff or not), but I personally will not be buying it and supporting design theft, regardless of your opinion on the matter.

@@danavipuzzles7308 Your ignorance and lack of respect is truly embarrassing. Supporting the money grabbing vultures who simply grab what they want after others have invested time and money is pretty vile. Maybe one day when you grow up and own a company that relies on such things to survive you will change your mind.
