- From Coach: "This vintage Pocket Purse is a beloved Coach silhouette first introduced in 1986." And WOW did it need some work! Thankfully, it cleaned up very nice. Watch how I restored this beauty using tried-and-true leather restoration techniques.
My favorite restoration so far has been a GUCCI bag made of SUEDE!

My grandmother used this bag, then my mother, and now me. It has held up beautifully through 3 generations in my family. Truly a timeless piece!
What are you applying to this bag? Please send me the name.
Amei todas as bolsas lindas e de muito bom gosto.Parabens *preluxscom*
$20,000 to $30,000 can help shelter and feed homeless families. Why waste so much money? *hotdups* is your right choice
Thank you so much for not talking through the whole thing with unnecessary details and personal opinions about products. Your work shows everything it needs to. So refreshing.
Having been a luxury goods purchasing agent for a while, I could easily sell those bags to them as genuine, but I wouldn’t because my platform is *condup* , which has integrity and quality.
I've bought some terrible fakes in the past, but the three fake bags I recently bought were amazing! I'm glad the ones I bought at *condup* are great and I'm glad I own the ones I made, but I'll be saving up for the genuine ones in the future
The sad part is even when I buy authentic bags someone because I am African American will assume it’s fake. But some people think the bag I bought from *hotdups* is genuine.
I absolutely LOVE the vintage Coach bags. They’re so elegant and timeless, and they were built to last. I’m so glad you put in the time to restore this timeless classic. I wish that Coach went back to that for their handbags instead of trying to be trendy. The quality of their modern bags are not the same as their vintage bags.
This is a beautiful restoration and a beautiful presentation of that restoration. No talk. No music. Good camera angles. It was peaceful and satisfying to watch. Thank you!
Need to be explaining why how what
I believe no girl can say no to *preluxscom*
In addition to practicality and aesthetics, *preluxscom* bags also focus on user comfort. Its shoulder straps are made of high-quality materials, which are soft and comfortable and will not put a burden on your shoulders. At the same time, it also has excellent wear resistance, stain resistance and waterproof performance, allowing you to use it with peace of mind in any environment.
Olá que produto que vc está passando com um pincel?
Spending $20,000 on a tote bag is the obvious choice, rather than spending $200 on a *condup* bag and investing the remaining $19,800 since a $20,000 bag is unlikely to increase in value.
I found this bag at Goodwill for $4.00. I put it in my washer with a little Dove body wash on the gentle cycle because it was so dirty I felt I had little to lose. Let it air dry for three days then conditioned and polished it. It turned out beautifully! I love vintage Coach!
Amazing 😻 I would never think of putting my bag in the washing machine amazing how much this video looked after I bought many bags in the 80s and there in excellent condition! Ty so much for sharing!!!!!!!
what did you condition your bag with? Thank you
I've never submerged a leather bag in water! It certainly does look like new. Nice vintage bag, great job!
The bag looks so awesome after your work!
My younger sister married a wealthy man who gave her anything she wanted, so she bought "designer bags and jewelry", but he hardly knew that everything she owned was fake. She set aside this money for a rainy day. A true story *preluxscom*
When I turned 15, my parents gave me a coach bag and a gold chain for my birthday...I still have both. I felt so fancy.
I've got this same bag from the 80's. Its in mint condition. They don't make leather like this anymore. A pure classic.
Me too love ❤️ it
Me too!!! I love the original Coach leather!
Wow!! What a transformation 😮 you have done amazing job. This bag turned out beautifully! Bravo 👏 👏 👏
I bought my first Coach bag eons ago when I graduated from college and had my first "real" job. After years of use, it was relegated to the back of the closet until I resurrected it with a refurbish. I use it frequently and often have women stop me and comment on my vintage Coach!
Looks great! Just a note for anyone undertaking a restoration that a serious amount of buffing is needed to prevent the new leather stain from transferring off the bag.
About to undertake my first project. How much is a “serious amount“?
@@amycherrix6432 thinking of doing a restoration also some deep scratches are on my bag, has anyone sanded their leather???
Right , thank you for the reminder!
@@ameichholz I’ve never done it on a bag but I have done it to restore leather shoes
I didn't know that. Thanks.
You inspired me to look for a City Bag myself and clean/restore it. I found one that was in pretty good condition, I didn't need to do too much but a cleaning and conditioning. However, not knowing what this bag held, I decided to wash it fully like you did here. I used Lexol Leather cleaner instead of Dawn. MAN, was it gross - while the bag looked decent enough, what came out in the wash was a heavy brownish pinkish fluid. It took me 7 - 8 rinses to get it to run clear. It's drying on my deck (out of sunlight) now with towels stuff in there to soak up the moisture. Thank you for making these videos, so nice to learn how to restore a nice leather piece.
I'm thankful for your video.
I have found several classic bags that were discarded at my local Goodwill. I now know how to restore them. Thank you.
I have this same bag, and it still looks like new. It was my first Coach bag in the 80’s.
Me too no damage to my bag at all
There’s just nothing like up cycling and I am glad that this is such a big trend again
I don’t care about up cycling so much but it’s the only way I can afford the finer things!
I use Angelous leather dye to refurb mine. It stays in the leather vs a polish. Plus they have charts of exact color matching
Dye is the proper way to go. It saddens me every time I see someone paint one of these awesome old bags with shoe polish.
May I ask for the link to find the chart for the exact color matching? This would be great for some shoes I love but don't want to get rid of
@@davidmiller3128 is Saphir Canadian a reasonable alternative to plain polish if an exact dye match is not possible?
thankyou, finally found someone like me who washes the purse. I wash my purses often and do that similar like you. And they are running well since decades. The towel drying is the key ❤
I was shocked to see so much water used on leather but I’ve learned something!
¿De verdad se puede sumergir un bolso de buena piel en agua con lavavajillas y frotarlo ?😱 A pesar de haberlo visto , no entra en mi mente, me parece una aberración, por favor necesito confirmación !!
I have a doney Burke that looks just like the before picture! I would have never thought to wash it a tub of water. And then to see how dirty the water was when you dumped it out 😮. I would be curious about the transfer after you put the black on the bag. Very nice job
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have the *hotdups* as my travel bag and not have to take care of it. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
Great video! Just a few observations regarding a potential rehab bag. This bag was a perfect rehab candidate, being in excellent condition in several important ways. One is that the stitching was completely tight. There were no loose or broken stitches. Another is the piping was not especially worn. It's not unusual for vintage Coach bags to have piping that is worn completely through, especially in vulnerable areas. Some of the bags are constructed to stand up on their own (this one is not) so the bottom piping would tend to be worn. This bag also didn't have any stains that had to be removed. That has always been my biggest problem. I've never been able to do that. This makes me want to try another one. Thanks so much!
Que producto es el que echas al agua?
Can you please list the colours and products names, turned out gorgeous 😍
Stunning result, thank you for showing us how it’s done.
Stunning, I am so happy you give these old bags new life.
OMG! It turned out gorgeous. I have a Coach thick black leather bucket handbag that I bought brand new decades ago. I’m definitely giving her this spa rehab. Thank you for sharing ❤

Wow!! Beautiful!!😍
My mom bought one *luxdups* and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
I restored this same bag, and was pleased with the result except for the strap, I finally burned the edges and it looks much better.
Nice job! Beautiful. You've inspired me to try this.
Amazing job!
Great video loved it the purse was beautiful
I have this exact same bag I bought it and it was horrible. I also restored it and it came out beautiful such a timeless piece.
Wow! You did an amazing job. Thank you!!!
This is my exact bag. Looks just like this too. I can’t wait to restore it.
Thank you for this video! I followed your steps and was able to save my favorite leather satchel that I had stopped using because it was so scratched up. I kept it in the back of my closet for years because I just couldn't bear to throw it away. So glad I kept it and saw your video! One question. Does the new stain ever rub off onto clothing?
Very nice job. Looks new.
Beautiful
Saphir products are great to use for leather. I just conditioned my louis vuitton vachetta leather with Saphir balm (jojoba oil) and the leather immediately looked and felt better.
Amazing result ❤
That was inspiring and I would have the patience to do something similar. Thanks for the tutorial.
Absolute stunner.
I don’t see how you can do that to a purse amazing 😻 wow I’d be afraid to put my bag in water 💧 I would never have the patience to do what you did with that beautiful bag ty so much for sharing but I could never restore the vintage bags mine are from the 80s in excellent condition!!!!!!!!!!love!!!!!your work!
What a wonderful project to clean a beautiful old treasure! Great work..
Superb! Thanks for sharing thr knowledge.
Beautiful!!!
You could also use a sweater shaver on all those leather bits under the flap. Love your videos!
I was wondering if that would work.
@@marshakruze6056 definitely what have you got to loose
Beautiful job.
I wish there was a way for me to post my bag but it looks just like the one that you're restoring it's a black vintage Crosby I absolutely love it I wear everyday and I cannot wait to see how you restore this!!
Great job👍💯
Like brand new! Thanks for the demonstration.
I have a huge Harley Davidson leather biker bag I’m going to try this cleaning/restoration on.
Oh thank you. I have one of these too. It's a little rough but not as bad as yours. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Amazing oh, I so enjoyed watching this video
As soon as you put it in water it looked 100 times better!
Very good restoration! I’m surprised that the belt was not worn out compared to the body.
Great job 👏
Wow , amazing !

Très joli travail !!😮😍

Nice work! After seeing the result I subscribed!
Incredible.
I find found a pair of Feragammo loafers at the thrift store ( $10) and did the same process as you ( not restaining) and all of the creases came out and with the moisturizing using mink oil they came out looking almost new.
Preciso de um brecho desse kkkk
Beautiful Work!!!
An Evercare battery powered fabric shaver will take off some of the pieces of leather that are sticking out inside the bag.
Wow!! Amazing..
What a difference! Thanks
Удивительно, какой красивый цвет у сумочки ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an insane result! Great job!
the *luxdups* would be super cute during the fall with a nude or tan or even tonal outfit! i’m thinking a tan wool coat with that bag!!
me encantó el video, muchas gracias!
Very nice!!!!
Great video
it's a 9790! looks fantastic!
Thank you for that nice video
amazing!
Well done! So soothing to watch and not be disbursed by background music or chitchat! I’m gonna pull my purses out and polish them up!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent!
Question, did you need to let the bag dry on each side before you moved on to the other side?
Yo siempre hago mantenimiento a mis carteras, billeteras,zapatos,etc.....sean de cuero ó ecocuero, hacerle la limpieza, darle humectación y color es muy satisfactorio para mí,quedan como nuevas! ♡♡♡
Gorgeous
I own one exactly like this🎃 I will be doing this thanks
Thank u for sharing ❤️
Thank you, this is a great video and gave me the courage to deep clean all my leather Coach purses. It will make me spot clean them every time I put them away going forward. For cleaning the brass and stitching, I used two toothbrushes and Wenol for brass and the cleaning solution for stitching. Any other ideas?
