Why is this company, given a monopoly over a hundred years ago, is running a utility as a corporation trading on the stock market? Who is the concern in that situation? The stockholders! Not the public and the people paying the bills. Why is the CEO getting millions every year in compensation when my rates continue to go up and up.....where is all that money being spent??
I've lived in other states, and in other places the power company is run as a utility. It's goal is not to run for profit. All the money you spend on your power bill goes to pay employees and the rest goes into maintaining the grid and upgrades. Turning the electric grid into a casino to enrich a few is what we have today. A total failure of the leadership of these corporations, but also a failure in the leadership of this state who allowed this to happen.
