- Bubunne (or Bubunia) is a matriarchal totalitarian country led by the ruthless La Générale (Generaless). In Bubun, the roles of men and women are reversed, up to the point where the male population is deprived of any civil rights, including work, education, military service, freedom of marriage etc.

This is what the women in Afghanistan are or will likely be going through right now. Same in other middle-eastern or southwestern asian countries. This movie is appreciated and needed, because it shines a light on those that are forced to live like this, in a perspective many in power don't consider or feel empathy for, being the ones in control, never having to live like this. @Mcheetah The way I see it, Jacky behaved the same way when he was a woman or a man. The generaless was more so specifically attracted to Jacky in general. It probably didn't really matter what gender he was. However, I do have another theory. The generaless was actually gay her whole life, she was taught/told to essentially BE a woman, therefore act gay. The thing is, it's established that Jacky is an extremely attractive guy. Which is the reason why generaless was so attracted to him, instead of any other woman at the party. He still has his "male features", which is probably what she saw in him.
The generaless is bisexual.

I mean, I know this is a twisted story and has a lot of twists and turns, but I'm really happy for Jackie ending up with the colonesse :)
Edit: Fuuuuuck, sorry for the spoiler. Gonna put a spoiler alert up there.
The last twist was had me have to watch and listen a second time, that the Coloness was actually a man.
Ayoo spoilers

@@DylanTheDemon sorry about that, just put a spoiler alert on there 😐
Didn't see that ending coming lol.
neither did your mom
@@Humanoidable hehe
men in the comments laughing at the absurdity of this consept- women go out and feel every bit of this daily. i could be dressed in sweatpants and a full long winter coat and still feel eyes on me. probably adds to why i haven't left my room in months. it makes you feel good when you're 13, but then you realize that its not the way you think. you realize those men want to use ur body instead of appreciating your beauty. at 13,14,15,16 i was taken advantage of by thinking it was a compliment. after that, I realized it was a threat that if the perfect oppurtunity for that man was to arise, he would not stop himself. multiply that by 30 grown men + guys ur age at the time per day, and the opportunity arises pretty commonly.
im sorry
This film is beyond amazing
This is one of the weirdest things I've seen.
and the fact that this actually might be true back then.
Good Weird
@Grey Donovun Very Interesting.
Its an exact reflection of the real world, men are treated like shit while women are praised
*weirdest movie but fun
the fact that it's actually a map of Georgia at 10:17 is hilarious
