A favourite Qatari past-time called Dune Bashing.
Fire breathing Nissan Patrols,
Flying Land Cruisers, and
Turbo sand monsters on steroids.
Watch for near misses, and a dramatic crash.
(Thankfully no one was seriously injured)
Gritty eyes, sandy mouth, adrenaline rush, and head high on octane fumes.
Great vibes.
Everyone is a friend in the desert.
People just gathered to have a good time.

All these cars you see in video are private cars and not rental. But in Dubai you can get on desert safari Land Cruiser dunes bashing for under 100 USD with other passengers in it or you can rent it all to yourself for more than 100 USD.

It's in Inland Sea,Qatar, 4wd drive as close to Saudi border across the sea, people will just gather, no special events or anything

It's not fixed really. Everyone just heads to the dunes. It is usually on Fridays after their Muslim prayers and gets more crowded towards the evening sunset. Gathering starts at AlAttiyah dunes and then you will see a mass migration to another few dunes. Saturday evening does not seem to have these crowds. And usually more crowded in winter.
