This was an absolute tonic after a rubbish day. The dear ladies created a world I wanted to live in. What an amazing contribution to the world, the Dame and the Doctor so sadly missed.

My mother and I were talking just a few days ago, and she asked me if I could remember how I used to, "book" the TV set every Thursday night for, "Dear Ladies" . I would have only been 9, and 10 years old back then, but I do fondly remember watching the episodes. Thanks so much for your kindness and time uploading gems like this. Thank you my friend. Many blessings to you, your family and the people you love. Hope you have had a lovely Christmas, & best wishes for the New Year. Peace and respect 👍🏽✌🏽

New Zealand, didn't get the radio show - dam it, we missed much.
This took me back to the days prior to television in this country - the test transmission received at wealthy relatives, right on the edge of the range - they complained ; we remained thankful for the radio & retaining our imaginations.

Beautifully crafted and an excellent supporting cast. I remember vividly listening to this in my bedroom when first broadcast.

It was a wonderful and hilarious radio programme. It is a shame that BBC should have shut down RADIO 7. What a disgrace!

The wonderful Hinge and Bracket. Who would have thought that today they are the sensible drag/trans act.

No disrespect to Jean Heywood, and I know at this point she was no longer with us, but for me, dear old Daphne Heard will forever be Maud!!
