The speaking each other's language thing is too real to be honest. I think it helps a lot with understanding each other's culture.
Glad I automatically brought gifts when I first moved to Taiwan and I immediately started doing the dishes/cleaning the table too! 🤣👍🏼

HAHA I have to say that is quite romantic and brave to propose before seeing your partner's parents in our culture. If you live closer to her family, you might have to spend quite some time with her parents after being married. Things are totally fine if you get along with them, but what if you don't, which is such a big concern us. Glad that it seems like you all get along.

I lived in Korea from 2019-2022 but when I return to East Asia in 2013 I want to explore Japan and Taiwan more.
In fact, expats reported Taiwan to be one of the most friendly for expats. There’s a great visa program (Gold Card) that I’m sure you know of that I want to apply for.
So yea I’m a Taiwan newbie! And your content is perfect for my questions as the moment.
Korea got way too…. popular for my taste. When I visited Kaohsiung in 2019 on a vacation from work in Korea I got absolutely great vibes. I feel like Taiwan is the new hidden gem.

Hi there, Thank you for your sharing, and it is good to have you here. When typing Chinese, I believe you don't need to download any keyboard apps from app store. You can just switch the keyboard to PinYin mode. As for communicating apps, yes, you should download Line which is the most commonly used here.
