    Enjoyed the video. I worked on a smaller RC rig operation before. We provided all our own meals, and it was tough work. Our pads were carved out of mountains with the rig deck split at 45 degrees, drilling -35 angles. We only drilled 1000 ft (~300 m) on these holes. Weatherford looks like driller's heaven to me.

      Yeah in Australia they are all way smaller and easier to work on. Plus they supply you with awesome food 24/7

    I Flew through midland texas and talked with a guy who once worked on a rig. His leg and arm where mangled in a rig incident. He said it happens more often then not, lots of messed up guys for life. Dangerous job

    The accommodation and food look bloody awesome! Seriously considering going into either offshore or this type of stuff, but having only worked in hospitality and mainly f&b to be exact I really wondering what the chances are of getting hired.

      Serious question from a american-german: Why does someone get into a job in the oil-industry nowadays with outdated fossil fuels declining rapidly? Really, food? It´s really interresting! Don´t you believe that in at least 10 years you will bitching around about loosing your job? Why don´t get a job at a more modern industry which will be there until u retire?

    One rig I did service was about 25 miles offshore.
    A 30 minute helicopter ride.
    4 hours in a cargo boat when it was too foggy for a helicopter and too rough for a crew boat.

    That is a bad ass crew quarters. I heard a super single sucks. Working underbalanced wells are pretty laid back. We have them 30 day from beginning to T.D.

    i got my 1st jump by showing up on site asking if there were any no shows. there was a guy hung over and didnt make it in
    what they didnt know was that was my dad and he told me to just go take his job. i missed the 80,s and the no red tape

      Wyo AnCap I've done a bit of exploration work in Regional WA. The summer heat during January/February is nearly unbearable. It feels like you are working in a furnace.

    I've been on many many drill rigs and not one has ever been that spotless, mud,snow,ice ,may be in Australia, I'm talking about north Dakota, good movie though , clearly safety is your number one priority, I'm impressed

    I worked in a onshore production platform in Rajasthan, India in the wells side and the accommodation was great, and the food was out of the world..something like 50 different items on the food menu everytime

    I worked for Ensign for 4 months. You had one small room with two bunk beds in it. One bathroom for everyone to share. No food was provided. Driller and tool pusher didn’t care about safety as they smelt of whiskey every day. That being said I enjoyed the work. But the morale of that specific rig was horrible.

      This type of land work is unheard of. They are using hydraulics which make it a lot safer. Roughnecks in Russia and America don’t have it so easy

    Here we go. Roustabout, Floorman, Derrickman, Assistant Driller, Driller, Tool-Pusher, Tour-Pusher, (Company Man) Motorman is not part of the drill crew in my world. When i think of what "Bernard Duroc Danner" did with Weatherford it makes my blood boil!......Get injured and see how well Weatherford treat you!

    When I was working rigs we didn't had a camp, had a small caravan, parked it nearby at a farmers place, cooking my own food, or take out chinese. You guys are spoiled now every 3 hours food. Shit wish I was young again.

    If working a land rig, you are mostly put up either on location in a trailer or hotel room at the nearest town.
    ...with one trailer as the mess hall.

      I work in AU and US. AU is the place to be as far as easy work. But US is definitely the place to be if you want to gain the most experience, in my opinion.

    I used to do roustabout rig up and rig down. And we'd rig wash ND them mud holes and them shakers were nothing to fuck with lol spend about 22 hrs in mud holes all day And you'll see why you get payed so much h for oil field.
