- Smoothound and Undulate Ray fishing in Tralee Bay.
After last week's amazing video it was going to be hard to top it but another specimen fish showed up for us but great things come to those who wait. With a howling southeast/East wind and glorious sunshine the hopes of tope faded but it sure beat work.
I never got around to the baiting up section but that's another day's work. Sorry for the noiser parts of the video but I got the new gopro and the windsock hasn't arrived yet.
Its a serious step up in class I hope you like it. As always anything you would like to see covered please mention it in the comments.
Tight lines
Chris
You're on fire Chris !! Can't wait for your next one. Unusual markings on your undie with the back markings on it.Caught my first one off Fenit Pier in 1984, 8lb !!!
I'm really dying to get a live stream going again I'm missing the craic with the lads.
Looking forward to that too 🤞🦈🎣
Loved the video Chris, thanks , haven't been to the beach yet ,just a bit of river fishing ,5km rule, got a bit of crack out off the youngfella at the start 😀👍
Connie is great craic to be fair we had great fun all day. He's a dab hand on the mini gas cooker too so that's definitely coming next time
Great video as usual Chris, but, have you found a new star? Your dad is a legend, really loved seeing him and made us all laugh so much, plus miss Kerry. Keep up the good work.
He's great craic to be fair now he much prefers bass fishing so can't wait for the 8th til we can get to the surf beaches
Great quality from the new camera Chris.
It's class isn't it. I need to play with the settings and get the best out of it. Definitely needs the windsock though to stop the noise
Well done Chris, lifted the "RAY BLUES" a bit undulate beautiful fish.
As was the other tastu flattie😁
Good to see lads out with you, always better when someone with you. Well done....all great work.
Thanks mick it was a great day out hopefully a summer of it ahead
Brilliant to see the three of ye back in action together, no arguments took place in the making of the video I hope😉😃
Surprisingly few..... Well few on camera lol
Chris O'Sullivan, The Inshore Angler 😂
Nice one Chris. Some lovely fish as always 😁
On a really good run at the moment now I have to say. I hope it lasts until the pairs. Congrats on the Akios deal man well deserved
@@Inshore_Angler hope so too mate lol. We're getting some nice wrasse and Pollock and plaice up this way at the moment and plenty of the every present doggies 🙈 at least there's plenty being caught 😂. Thanks mate it took me by surprise lol
That's so cool mate . I'm still wating to catch my first ray and smooth hound I hope it happens soon!! Well done again lads top stuff 🎣🎣👍🏼👍🏼
1 year on how has the ray hunt gone mate?
Hi Chris, some great fishing. we are heading down for a few days fishing towards the end of september .I was wondering if there are any of the beaches producing plaice and turbot. I fished Inch strand some years back and it produced a lot of small plaice. We will be staying on the Banna strand any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ken
Great session buddy, congrats!
Lovely hounds Chris. Tralee bay wouldn't be a well know venue for hounds. Are they becoming more common over the last few years?
Ya man the past 4 or 5 years only. if even that. All good sized ones it seems too
@@Inshore_Angler ya have all the best fishing now bud. Cant wait until restrictions are lifted enough for me to travel down to Kerry.
Nice job lads. I've had great success with the circle hooks for rays. I spotted a post where Mike Sherwood suggested them. 👍
That's 4 rays all 4 in the corner of the mouth all 4 released now
Looked like great craic Chris. Costa del Kerry long may it last...
It was amazing although there was a crazy South wind blowing up
Well done Chris some nice fish there. I cant wait to do a bit of smoothhound fishing. Still having some fun in this river. Had a nice season last night on the bass. 7 bass and flounder all tiny though but great fun. I have a little bit of bait left so might get out for an hour tonight.
Savage the estuary is being very good to you lately. Did you get out this evening
@@Inshore_Angler I'm out now just waiting on the tide to push in. Shouldn't be to much longer now..
Well done Chris
Thanks Terry sorry for upsetting you while your not allowed visit
I hope I can get some mackerel whenever I get a chance to go to Kerry! every year there seems to be less and less of them cause overfishing and stuff. I know they arent much sport but on light tackle its pretty fun.
Definitely man light tackle and they go like a train spinning or fly rod really makes it fun
Are the hounds coming to mackerel or crab Chris - 2 more days and I’m moving to west Clare , can’t wait !
Crab for me but 2 lads had real big ones on mackerel
What an amazing fishing session, great video mate, like from me
That's cool man. Ya it was a great day out legs and arms were tired after there was no fear of getting to sleep 😂
@@Inshore_Angler I can imagine!😂
good to see your da out
Ya it was brilliant to get him out on the rays he normally wouldn't bother with that type of fishing
Nephew will be lookin down on ya soon too
Howya Chris, you mentioned the Ray was caught on circle hook, how do you find them compared to J hooks? Was the smoothie on one as well and what size if you dont mind me asking? Keep up the good work!
The smoothie was 100cm I thought the specimen was 100 turns out it's 103 cm gutted lol. Last 4 rays I've got have been all in the corner of the mouth. I am well impressed going to use them a lot more in future
Great fishing. What bait did ye get the hounds on?
Hi Carlo we got them on peeler crab fished on a pulley rig at distance
The reels need a bit of tlc😀😀😀😀
Are you offering?
Where should I go fishing in tralee
Fenit is always reliable for a few fish
