Shore fishing in Tralee Bay, Ireland for Tope, Smoothound and Rays. Action packed
Hi everybody
It's been an age since I managed to get out and get some footage together despite a few failed attempts.
This was pure and utter chaos but all I can assure you all fish were returned alive. We used circle hooks with crushed barbs and all fish were lip hooked.
Baits on the day were Sandeel, Mackerel and Peeler Crab. A huge thanks goes to Figgs, Jason and Eamonn for their help in recording catching and landing fish. In total we had 2 Undulate Ray 1 painted Ray 5 Dogfish 6 Smoothound and 1 Tope. Not bad for a few hours after work.

Bass and flounder fishing on the famous Inch beach, County Kerry Ireland with harbour ragworm for bait. A break in the weather meant Connie and myself could get to Inch for some bass fishing. unfortunately the big ones eluded us but there was plenty of sport to be had they were all released. I am sponsored by Yuki and some of the yuki products have been sponsored.

What a fantastic days fishing down in Waterford with Tony targeting Smoothound using peeler crab for bait. A last minute decision proved very fruitful on the hounds with Tony having 10 and 9 for myself. Unfortunately, we didn't hit that specimen fish for the camera but the action was non stop for the day. The best of the fish were probably 7lb ish with maybe 1 or 2 going slightly heavier than t...

A nice couple of hours spend chasing bass on ballyheigue beach using lugworm. In between the massive showers it was a lot of fun trying to film and get the fish. typically I missed the fish while the video was on but huge thanks to Gosia for the pic of the bass.

How many bass can you keep and whats the minimum size bass you can take???? Thanks for the great video. Its a sjame the regulatiions arent as stringent for trawlers there isnt a mackeral to be seen up here in Sligo this year.
2 bass per person per 24hrs. 42cm size limit in Ireland at the moment
🚨 He wasn’t immediately brought back to the water .??
That's a female Stingray. I only kept it out for the bare minimum time in order to make the video and I assure you it did swim off strong afterwards
Class video. 🫡
Well thanks very much that's nice of you to say
Holy jesus 😂😂😂
Holy Jesus indeed 🤣🤣
What kind of rig did you use?
Another great video Chris I see you have got the hang of sea fishing at last lol well done buddy
Ah hello Phil mate. You know the story the more I practice the luckier I get 🤣🤣
Hi Chris 2 of us coming over 24 august just wondering are you still selling eel if so how much per pk we be looking for 10 pks, enjoyed the vids keep them coming thanks Paul
watched the video as had seen FB posts about not attempting in a campervan, but feel reassured now that it's doable . Who is the music by please ?
I can't recall but they struck me for copyright lol. Honestly nobody will thank you for being the person who holds the place up in a camper. I think it's 3t limit. My advice is go the inch route and come up from dingle to the viewing point. The pass is no place for a big camper
@@Inshore_Angler it's only a VW Transporter T5 so an average van 👍
@wicky525 oh perfect so that is ideal for touring around. I've seen people try go up in the big campers it just ends in tears
@@Inshore_Angler cheers for advice 👍
I had a 76cm last year, and it was 9lbs.
What months are best in winter ???
I've found late November and early December to be good and January next best. February is generally very poor in my area

Wow thats a good catch
My favorite thing in your tackle box was the Wispa. I have to travel from Chicago to Tinley Park IL to Winston's deli in an overly populated Irish neighborhood to buy them as well as black pudding and other comforts from home then put them in a cooler, otherwise they will melt in my pickup at 95 Fahrenheit. I caught a 6-pound flathead catfish on the Kankakee River two weeks ago with a rotten chicken liver when the river was low, it's too hot right now to go fishing this weekend. I'm Coming home for a visit at the start of September might catch you on Ballyheigue strand fishing for Bass. Gar are a freshwater fish here in the states.
I believe its a bit exciting in Chicago at the moment with the Tornado warnings ⚠️. What are the fishing shops like around there? I've been to the Bass pro (Gurney Mills I think) near the city but unfortunately I wasn't allowed fill a 2nd trolley
@@Inshore_Angler My Neighborhood Mt Greenwood wasn't too bad, heavy rain 75 mph winds and frequent lightning strikes, most of the damage was up in the northern part of the city. most tackle stores here are by the state pk's and forest preserves.
@@Inshore_Angler Might catch you in Ballyheigue at the beginning of sept on the strand
Thanks Irish Bro, Ill drink a Guinness in your name.
Oh now that's a high honour I hope its cold creamy and delicious
@@Inshore_Angler Oh definitely thanks and very much appreciated.
Well done.
Same speed you leave the bar when it’s your round!
Only when it's Seadogs Andy 🤣
What reels you got there lad?
Shimano fancy bast🫢🫢🫢ards 🤣🤣 the aero technium mgs xsd
@@Inshore_Angler oohhh very nice man 😍 I'm a bit of a shimano fan myself
To be fair now these are for the world championships and I was due an upgrade. The older aero techniums took 10years hard labour with minimal upkeep
The Strand for once looks like it's clear of weed. Oh, by the way I'll be visiting Ballyheigue in late August or September with my brother, young nephew and his friend who's family the Heinze's are from Ballyheigue. Been looking online for a rod rest and another surfcaster. might go to the tackle shop in Tralee in that little industrial pk.
Ya for once it was really weed free there was a lot just under the town but I went down a bit to avoid that and the swimmers. A very enjoyable day out. Ya man get onto Martin in the Angling Hub he will be able to help you out with whatever gear you need to get. It's been fishing really well lately I heard
I’d run if I saw your head too😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
what can i use to store it without having newspaper???
You can keep them in the fridge in a shallow tray with sea water too
Well done Chris you did well on your own buddy . A fish of a lifetime from the shore at Derry all the best from Philip ord😅😊😊😊😊
Hiya Phil mate nothing beats the evening on your warrior with you and Dave hope your keeping well
That’s a cracking video Chris I must say thanks to yourself and Figgs for all of the great advice hopefully I will get out with ye again soon and finally get myself a Tope 🤞
Definitely man we will get one on the other mark in August 😁😁
Ty for the video Chris gl fishing in the Kerry area.
Great video Chris . Has my hopes up for tomorrow up there 😅 maybe I’ll finally get my stinger !
How did you clip your Baits down for casting given you were using Single hook - Imps? Nice variety of fish - especially the Tope.
I didn't clip it down at all it was just a very simple running bolt rig with the flapper. Distance wasn't a massive necessity. Figgs had all his hounds at distance I'd of had to change rigs for that
Fish everywhere, happy days - what a session....
It was absolute carnage you would of loved it
Hope to get in amongst them soon🦈
Your coming at the right time man I think we are due an explosion of stingers
@@Inshore_Angler AHH jaysus don't be saying things like that now
👍👍...looks like a great nights fishing, thanks for the vid
It was brilliant pure chaos but great fun it was just a pity I couldn't of stayed longer
Looked a fantastic night Chris great to see it on CZcams
It's just a massive pity the video quality wasn't better but it was black dark down there
Thats a class session chris, well in, did any of the hounds take A mack bait?
No not tonight but I have had the bigger ones take mackerel baits there in the past. A lot of the undulate have taken crab though which is a little unusual
@Inshore_Angler nice one chris, ive only ever had dogs, conger and bass on peeler never had a ray on peeler.
Thornies and stingers are partial to a bit of crab but never had Undulates and that's my 2nd one this year on crab
Nice to see you back Chris ,a nice session
Cheers Paul it was nice to get something on camera
looks like mighty craic Chris. love the wind whistling on the taut lines, fair play ❤
I was hoping that someone would pick up on the whistling line. It was brilliant chaos now so it was really enjoyable
Nice one, looks like ye had the craic aswell.
You can chalk it down mighty craic and plenty of good fish too
Hello from the rugged Oregon coast! Won't stop raining here. Enjoyed your video.
Oregon really cool I watched a documentary about Oregon and the scenery is incredible. I really thought the fishing looked like it could be awesome there
Are there any on fenit island
Ya tons
Love your content Chris
Thanks very much mate comments like that mean a lot
Very clear image and description of the burrow...thanks
Cool glad you were happy 😊

🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤😅😅😅😊😊😊😊
Cracking bass Chris is that stradbally ?
Inch man
I waste there 2 days a go cool
Any luck? I couldn't stay too long but can't wait to try it again
How do you like the kenta. Is it worth the money? 🤑
I'm lucky enough to be sponsored by Yuki but I do love the rod. So much so that I got a 2nd one for the upcoming World Championships in November.
@@Inshore_Angler Happy days man. Best of luck in November 👍
@Gusrover thanks man can't wait for it now but too excited about all the glued rigs 🤣
Just as I went to put it back the Bass turned and jabbed me hence the unelegant landing in the water
