8:38 wow, that kei car just sounds amazing!
Yup, the 1st kei car with a v6 :P
I believe that was a Nissan cube?
Damn, it sound so good!
where was the car?
A Lotus Exige and Daihatsu Tanto Custom
the sound of the Arese V6 by Alfa Romeo is heartstoping
+xCobi
The Busso isn't just the best sounding V6 out there, it's the best looking one as well!
and the sound of that wheel bearing on that alfa is too 😁😁
Alfa V6 busso growl - best v6 engine
Alfa v6
@@johncrites1149 Alfa GTV6 the best Busso sound
in your opinion
Not an opinion, a fact.
Tobias Fellas nope, Nissan GT-R VR38Dett V6 destroys all ;)
Alfa Romeo V6 sounds amazing.
To have owned many affordable cars with v6, the 2.7 litres engine from a 99-05 Suzuki Xl7 is quite memorable to me. With a oem rev limit set to 8500 and a home made short ram intake it was honestly the best sounding car i owned.
Happy that a 3000gt vr4 got on there i own one and always thought they are a pretty good sounding v6
Busso : best V6 ever. No contest.
3.2L VR6 from the '03 golf
Nissan 350z with Tomei Exhaust 👌🏻
I’m pretty happy with my pentastar 3.6
Busso N°1) There is no other aspirated V6 like it. It's a masterpiece, a work of art.
I miss my GTO. It was the size of a yacht, but the 4 wheel steering and AWD made it so much fun to drive. To bring it back to the states, I would have basically needed to swap the entire body with a 3000GT... making it exactly the same as a 3000GT.
One tiny detail to correct, Busso V6 was never OHV, the first engines were OHC. The camshaft pushed on the intake valves directly, while the exhaust valves were operated by small push rods. It was so to make it a crossflow design rather than reverse flow even with single overhead camshaft.
The 4.0 Ford V6 is probably my second favorite V6 sound, especially with good addons, like a high flow muffler and long tube headers.
I do like sound of ours granted it’s a stock 05 Explorer. I have heard they did have timing chain problems early on.
AS an SHO owner i was really happy to see it featured its an orgasmic engine noise
V6 Busso are best!
Alessio Conserva già è vero ma si dice is
The best sounding v6 I ever got to work on was a Detroit diesel v6 supercharged 500ci two stroke. A two stroke diesel will rev to the moon! Sounds awesome! It was in an airplane tugger. 3 speed trans, top speed of about 40mph. For how big it was it got moving pretty good.
20-some years later, and the NSX is still the most glorious sound 6 I've ever heard
Ah I love V6s!❤❤❤❤❤❤
V6 engines sound musical, similar to guitars or horns. Sometimes, they make a perfect fifth (a common rock music sound) at the right speed.
For me VR6 wins, but not the R32.. the older 2.8/2.9 from the mk3 golf sounds better :)
Yeah but all of the VR Engines are officially the worst performing 6 Cylinders available. '
And very inefficient, the 2.8 VR6 cant even compete with the c20xe with 150HP
The 3.2 and 3.6 are stroked versions of the 2.8. They make 250 hp and 300 hp, respectively. They are whole different beasts. So you can't say the VR Engines are all the worst performing.
You're talking about the 12v 2.8L VR6 which I believe has the lowest compression ratio out of the VR family which means it's great for turbo. Check out "whadatproduction" on youtube, he's got my favorite 12v turbo VR6. it's in a mkiv body but it's badass!
golf Gti sounds killer straitpiped
R32 sounds better then a the vr6 golf 3
The NSX when revved out is just amazing. Everything about that car, especislly the later ones is just awesome. Love the Nissan V6 too tho.
Busso simply the best sounding engine ever
Of course it is!
Nope LFA is
galerio995 the best sounding v6 engine? In the 70's, maybe
you're comparing v6 to v10, your arguement is invalid
awks...LFA is V10
the PRV, Busso, Cologne and the ES9 (the successor of the PRV, used in the Renault Clio V6, Renault Vel Satis, Renault Avantime, Venturi 300 Atlantique, Peugeot 607, 407, Citroen C6, C5) for the win.
i have driven an r32 with the vr6 engine. honestly it sounds amazing and i am a v8/diesel guy. i almost bought the car just because of how amazing it sounded. didn't though cause the dealership had it priced too high. i think the jag had the best sound out of all of them
I did actually buy one. I part exed mine for a 350z- doesn’t sound as good or look as good but it’s rwd and cheaper to mod 🙂
My ears and yours agree the Jag was best sounding, it was just giving 100% all the time
The VQ35 is just a masterpiece and I’m surprised it’s not on here. It just has that special low rev growl and that sound when it gets past 3k rpms is just orgasmic.
Had the pleasure of riding along in a 3000gt once, man those things are fast!!
I have a mk4 r32 with milltek, but let's be fair that jag is by far the nastiest, evil sounding beast here.
Love that busso V6! Great engine's!! Bella
ideas for future: straight six engines, 4 CYLINDER engines, v12's etc. these videos are great, keep it up you absolute madman.
2nd Clio is like an optical illusion. Rear wheel seems ridiculously large, but when compared to the front wheel, it looks pretty normal.
Best V6 sound from the VR6/R32 VW engines!
I agree, although they have a I6 firing order and a 6 into 1 exhaust manifold so they aren't actually a v6, hence why they sound like a 1/2jz,rb,s52 not a mooing cow like all other v6's.
+Jake warren Yes, for example in the VR6 engines the pistins work in a narrow angle in the same block, as in other v6 engines some work in a 45º angle in separate blocks.
yea boy
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAhhHA NOPEE
One thing is sure: in this video you cannot find a BMW.
BMW don't have V6 engine
The Ford Cyclone engine should be on here
Spurr true
@@cadenzhou5860 aye fellow 3.7 owner 👉😎👉
That Yamaha V6 in the Taurus SHO came from Yamaha 300 Horsepower stock. That’s 300 HP from a. 3.0 V6 in 1989. Ford detuned it to 220 because of the accessories and transmission couldn’t handle it. The sound that motor makes screaming all the way to 7200 is amazing. And that deep throaty growl when the secondary runners open up at 4000 RPM. Unbelievable engine and car.
My Saab 93 2.8T V6 sound great with it's exhaust system
Glad to see you got an Alfa v6 in here
Unless I missed it I would definitely say the Alfa Romeo giulia quadrifoglio should be on the list if not number 1. It’s the best sounding V6 I’ve ever heard
Yes ...it sound good, but that's tuned exhaust sound mate. Engine sound is something else. Best sounding engine here is Busso, and is also best sounding Alfa Romeo engine ever.
Doesnt come close to a 12v Busso imo. The Giulia is only noisy, but doesnt howl and scream like a Busso. E46 M3 also glorious sound btw
I have a 2022 Camry TRD, it comes with a catback exhaust and sounds absolutely beautiful now that I got the resonators deleted. I didn't know how much more fun it was to drive a car that made a good amount of sound
Can u post a video? I seen one wherevira just cat back from Borla, doesn't sound as good as I expected.
I got myself a 22 TRD as well I put the weapon R catless headers but left the stock TRD resonator and mufflers intact. Im super happy with the sound its awesome
2.8l VR6 for life❤❤❤❤
Where is 300ZX and 350Z engine sound?
+Sasa Goluza 370z
because they arent v6s, they are vr6s
+The Poor Gamer I hope you're trolling.
Because they don't sound good at all.
Jimmy Grant sound better than some of these shits
what about the Buick 3.8 Turbo V6?
There is no 3.8 turbo Buick. There is a supercharged 3.8 though
@@alexscarborough6263 ever hear of the Buick grand national? They came factory with a single turbo 3.8 v6
@@HUGH.JANOS. you right. Forgot about that bad beast. But I'm more of a typhoon/cyclone. 4.3 turbo v6 guy
Not even the turbo I would have been happy with the ecotec
Buick 3.8 was one of the most deepest sounding v6s made
Ford Cologne Ftw!!!
My 98 Riviera (GM 3800 Supercharged) sounded pretty sweet. Stock exhaust sounded better than any aftermarket. Loved watching the oil pressure drop to 0 at high revs at 3:50. Also loved the hyperflash...
I know this is old, but have you heard a 3800 with the equalizer or whatever ZZP calls it? Made me wish the days driving a black SLP Grand Prix GTX
NSX v6 sounds amazing as well as the jaguar v6
That Alpine...sounds amazing.
Props for putting the 6G72 on this list. It's pretty underrated because everyone just flocks to the 4G63
Wow I actually wasn't expecting the 3000GT to get the love it deserves. Thanks xP
I'm upsettings that my Mitsubishi FTO V6 engine isn't featured :(
Oh, "best sounding," sorry! :-D
My 2006 3 liter Honda Accord sounds pretty nice too!
Lol people need to learn the difference between a V6 and inline 6
WTF! you forgot the V6 in the Buick Regal Grand National GNX.. that motor was designed by McClaren for crying out loud!
+Fredrik Kalgren The football manager?
***** spellcheck
+Fredrik Kalgren McLaren did not design 3.8L V6, Buick did. ASC/McLaren just upgraded and tuned a few things.
ThunderLips34 ok sorry Mr. Technical, it doesn't change the fact that McLaren had some say in the way the engine performed. Last i checked, "upgrading and tuning" requires planning .
The 3.8 was a horrible engine for sound and performance. Had one in my holden.
It’s very hard to make a V6 sound good, but when you pull it off it can sound amazing
I think you’ll be impressed with the sound of my v6. All it has is a muffler delete
I love how a V6 sounds.
Mazda V6 engines are very popular and missing here !!! Also used in some Fords ... KL -ZE , KL- DE , K8 -DE found in the MX6 , MX3 , 323F / Lantis & 626..
I've got the klde in my Ford Probe and yes, it sounds lovely!!!
busso for ever! ! ! !
5:30 sounds like pigs xD
If the Maserati Ghibli isn’t on here, I swear to god. I’m not going to be 100% enthralled with this video.
The best V6 here is the Alfa Busso. I love the GTR, it is a phenomenal car and engine, but the Busso has a TON of racing pedigree in europe, and it's the best built of the lot. Bulletproof internals, a good water pump design, and all the fizzes, crackles, and pops you'd expect out of an Italian, and those GORGEOUS chromed inlet pipes.
g35/350z?
That first car got me thinking of Need For Speed Underground 2.
I own a MK4 VW GTI w/ the 24v VR6 and it sounds even better in person than it does in this video!! Nice to see my baby gettin’ some love though!!
I've driven a first generation nsx and I can say that it sounds and drives the best out of anything on this list IMO .. Everyone has their own opinion and thats whats awesome about cars
You simply gotta love that deep throaty roar of the Mitsubishi 6G72, it's one of the main points, besides the smooth powerdelivery, that I love about my 92 Mitsubishi Sigma. It also sounds considerably better then the newer 6A engines that came after it.
Sounds kinda like a magnum 🔥
Alfa Busso the best sounding without a doubt!
That cologne v6. Is a beast. I have 4.0 cologne v6 in my mustang
I had an 82 gtv6 ..once I canned it past a TVR owners club meet and they all looked ...high praise
where is the inline 6 video?! :O
jobolarius 9
Another good V6 was the 3.8L V6 turbo in the Buick Grand National. 87 is nest year because the boost went from 7 to 14 PSI I knew someone whose dad had one and it was fast as hell.
Ldežmwlf
Vg30de with z1 pg exhaust! The busso sounded spectacular.
VR6 😍😍 Damn they sound good
Mazda KL should have been on this list, even if it cost an extra meaningless number making it 16 best sounding engines. Great sounding engine and probably the least expensive.
the v6 in the 350z is the best v6 to me
TunerCarFan To me the Supra mk4. But 350z sound great too
Victor Shane the Supra doesn't have a V6 lol wtf
Victor Shane they don t have a v6 lmfao
@@victorshane4134 the plan of the Supra, was to have a V6, but because the size of the headlights were so large, the headlight fluid reservoirs extended too far behind the headlights, and into the engine bay, to allow the necessary room for a V6, so they instead chose to go with a twin turbocharged straight 6 TIL
Surprisingly the Mitsubishi 6B31 3.0 v6 sounds great, especially for a crossover.
Yes! We had a 2010 Outlander and now have a 2014 Outlander and have the 6b31 in both.
Man I miss my sho, got to love the sound of a high revving Yamaha engine
7:00 sounds like DK.
The best sounding V6 is the one that has a stock exhaust so you don’t hear it
You should have shown what the Yamaha engine in the SHOs look like too. Coolest looking engine ever! And I don't say that just because I have one
fto mivec v6 sound amazing
True ✌🏻️
Aw I was kinda hoping to see the Grand National v6
+NitrousCatfish me to, my Syclone also sounds pretty wicked!!
syclone is a 4.3 gm v6.
you forgot the KLDE and KLZE V6s from mazda
+Dragunov302 exactly !
Exactly my thought!!! sounds better than most cars in this video imho
KL-ZE Nice engine
I have that car.
exactly.. i have one
KLDE in mx-6
R35 GT-Rs will always have the best sounding V6s for me
there is no better V6 than the mighty BUSSO :D
+VisioRacer i love your vids. keep it up man. can you make another one for the 4 cylinder cars? salamat from the Philippines
I can and probably will
+VisioRacer If you could make one with 5-cylinder engines wouldn't it be great too. Thanks in advance and keep up the good works.
Why would 4-cylinders be rice? You think Alfa 4C is a rice? Is S2000 a rice? Or Mégane R.S, Civic Type R or those awesome Cosworth engines? Not even mentioning that F1 once had four-cylinders.
+VisioRacer haha any car can be riced even 5 cylinder cars
CAN BE, but they are not normally. Always depends on the middle-part between the seat and the steering wheel.
Alfa busso!!!
I'm glad the Ford Cologne V6 was mentioned, not the best of engines but lovely all the same.
Citroen 3.0 V6 24V is also a gorgeous sounding engine!!
You also forgot the Mazda KLZE engine from the probe gt and mx-6 :'(
this sound is very good i drive a probe with KLZE
the Mazda K series are the best sounding v6 engines!!
4.3 or 4.8 vortec v6 are nice sounding with a good exhaust setup
I think the VR6 from the mk3 Golf sounds better than the newer ones. That deep thrumming, throaty burble is perfect.
So true!
The jag sound....... 😍
klze with magnaflow exhaust system
gmc safari engine is godly
+bubanzizwag pnw the 4.3 in my '89 Safari sounds like a 350 at idle. Probably because the 4.3 is basically a 350 sans 2 cylinders.
the best sounding v6 engine to me is most likely alfa romeo's 2.5L V6 busso engine that they put in the 1984 GTV6. amazing engine, amazing car.
Check saab 93 turbo x, auto autopsy channel for example features one. Amazing sounding v6
Mazda KLZE AND AUDI 2.7tt 👍👍
where's the Mazda MX3 1.8 V6? That thing sounds like a formula 1 car!
I second this
Mazda K V6 all sound good (even a Xedos 6/Eunos 500 with its stock exhaust), but comparing these to F1 engines is a bit too much... They don't drop fast enough when releasing throttle to really feel sporty (needlessly heavy flywheel?)
The millenia sounded good as well..
Like everyone else already pointed out, the Alfa is again. But to me, the NSX, Exige, and Stratos are right up there!
Now you should do a best sounding Inline 6s video.
you missed quite a few better v6's and picked all the bad exhaust setups.
rip
vq35de with log tubes and tomei titanium exhaust. or supercharged. or with sg motorsports long tubes
+Mike Cirovic Try a VQ35/37 HR with Motordyne TDX2 and longtube headers, then you're talking
TheBoxboy23 hotel crazy hasn't posted videos in years. But the sounds are good. A few guys are running built vortech with longtubes and tomei. Sounds ballin
Hotel is the only one with longtubes and motor dyne that I know of.
Lancia startos👏
3.2 V6 24valves Busso engine is the best sounding engine ever. The Pride of Alfa Romeo. Shame that Busso construction is no longer maintained.
Unlike the new low-capacity turbocharged engines, here we can hear true power :)
Oldschool one.
I had a 4.3 Chevy Blazer with a Vortec V6, that sounds great!
Ian Bono
In my country, Brazil, the Chevy Blazer V6 was marketed from 1995 until 2004, it was one of the most desired utilities by consumers. And incredible as it may seem, it was used in the police of my state (São Paulo)..
But the price was too high for the season...
