At the end of a long range session, I decide to shoot the same load through a 10mm 1911 with a 5" barrel and an XDM 10mm with a 3.8" barrel to see just how much energy is lost.
That’s about 750 ft pounds from the 5in average and 640ft pounds with the 3.8 110 ft pound difference. Good energy but be careful with hollow points going to fast will hurt penetration for a woods load go for something more solid. Great presentation we all have off days shooting especially with unideal conditions. I like the 3.8 but with 10mm 4.5 is the sweet spot for size and energy
