Jeff just got out of jail for drugs when he joined the vlog squad. He said just recently he expunged his record so before all of this, he probably felt intimated to get back in the job market after being out of it for so long due to being the drug game and then going to jail for it so now you have a record and have to disclose that. So I see the pressure Jeff has, without him explicitly saying it, he wanted to make good content and for what? For money. To make a living. And David has made his career. He probably feels like he truly owes him his life.

They will slowly distance but hard to do in an obvious way.
It’s like when Seth kept seeking them out. When someone traumatizes you it’s not easy to put the blame where it belongs and walk away. Nobody wants to believe that someone they trust could violate them in such a way.
The margins here are so small. If he would have hit his head at a different angle he would be dead. He was incredibly lucky to survive and also keep his vision.

I feel like David might lack awareness. A lot of people are calling him psychopathic, sociopathic, and narcissistic, but we throw these labels around to often. David seems to have not self awareness or to not think deeply enough about what he is doing. He puts power over empathy, which may be a trait of narcissism. But I think he's just a stupid man who was given too much power.
I don't think David gives a crap about anybody but himself. He's to worried about making crazy content for his vlogs to worry about his so called friends. Sloan was totally right about him basically only seeing the people in the vlog squad as puppets or something along those lines to tell what to do so they have crazy stuff in their vlogs. nah i’m sorry but David should be sued for that. Although Jeff got on willingly the abrupt stop by David caused the accident. I don’t think there would even be proper training for this because it’s ultimately so stupid. If he literally just used common sense to slow down Jeff would’ve been completely fine.

Updating this comment to say that some people think the machine safety locked and that’s why it stopped abruptly. I think this story about David is relevant because it shows that he intentionally endangers people but it may not be relevant to the abrupt stop. I am commenting this ina bunch of threads because it’s stuck in my head and I feel like it’s important. I was looking for clips of David talking about hurting people and there’s a clip where he talks about choking a girl in school. He said he stopped because the teacher intervened. I feel like I need to say this. This whole situation with David is basically the grown up version of kids being made fun of for not being able to take a joke. I'm sure David as a kid or as a teen probably dared his friends to do all kinds of crazy things and when they got mad, he would tell them that they can't take a joke or they are too sensitive. I think we need to abolish this mentality that not wanting to do something makes you a weirdo or sensitive. When people become adults, they feel like they have to take whatever is thrown their way because as kids they were made to feel bad for not being able to take a joke. This is why hazing ends so terribly a lot of the time. A freshman at my school died from hazing. Jeff could have died from this. It's okay to not be able to take a joke.

If you’ve watched footage/actual unblurred footage you see someone getting out of the excavator (which is David obviously) and at the same time see multiple people running out there.

Agreeed. Reminds me of some people who use what they do for others as a way to hold it over their head. I've had friends like that (but not as rich or powerful as David). It's weird when you think someone is doing something out of the kindness of their heart but in reality they're doing it so you "owe" them. I'd rather them not do shit for me if that's the case. You know, I can't help but think about that video Trisha Paytas made where she said something like everyone thinks David is so nice, but he's really a monster. It's hard to know when to she's telling the truth and when she's lying. But lately it seems like she's been telling the truth more than anything.
I honestly feel like Trisha has good intent in her heart no matter what she does, she just gets confused on the line between hurtful and funny. If Jeff’s foot hadn’t gotten stuck he would have died. His best friend would have died. That would haunt any normal person for the rest of their lives but not David. His whole character is becoming more and more disturbing as time goes on...

I feel like they are using Jeffs injury to distract from what happened with Dom + David and the rest of the vlog squad. David would always get people drunk so he could film them and get 'content' so he has a lot of film footage of his friends being inapropriate and he would 'prank' them by getting them on film naked and weird things like that ,like when he went into Trisha and Jasons hotel room and hid in the bathroom and she walked in and she was naked and he was filming her, which is kind of terrifying, but he most likely have video that he could use 'blackmail' style. He should not have a social media platform at all.

Jeff watched the girl on the rope and then chose to do that himself, he didn't have to, but the girl that got r3aped did not have a choice. David cleary does not care about the girl, and David has set up dangerous situation one after another, even after he almost killed his own friend, all for views, he is greedy and he is gross.

David had no business trying to control the excavator. I showed my boyfriend the leaked clip of the accident without context and he immediately thought Jeff was gone. Of course I told him afterwards that he survived but it is one of those accidents where he truly is lucky to be here

Since we have so much access to traumatic imagery (police shootings, live streams of mass shootings, etc.) Unfortunately I think it’s common for people to share things like that without thinking. There’s a commentary youtuber that said her friend sent her a link to the live stream of a mass shooting while it was happening and she didn’t know what the link was, and she genuinely has ptsd from it. I never want to see someone get seriously injured or die so I’ve always been careful about what I choose to look at but after hearing her story it’s even more important to me now to guard my psyche and to be careful with other peoples.

I personally think there was someone watching Jeff upstairs and saved his life this time. There were far too many close calls. Yes you usually need a licensed OP for a EXCAVATOR, and I think the fact that Jeff’s foot got stuck saved him from drowning and or hitting his head on the water/surface.

Yes, they said the water was only 1 foot deep. He could've easily broke his neck or back in the fall alone hitting the bottom.
It's better to refer to it as an excavator because CAT is the company that makes the equipment. That's like looking at an excavator that says, "Finning" on the side of it and thinking it's a Finner or something. Just always good to know what things are called during these types of videos into people as it keeps confusion to a minimum and when young adults Google CAT, they'll be thrown excavators, back hoes, 350's, 380's, skid steers, loaders, sweepers, etc. This excavator is a 380. The size of the machine, the length of the neck and the type of bucket on the end determines the type of machine. This is one of the bigger more common ones and you DO NOT need a license to operate believe it or not. You only need it if you're working in construction and your company requires it. I work with tons of operators who don't have an operating license because back in the day they weren't a thing and they've been doing it for so many decades that they aren't asked.
But yeah, you do not need a license to operate as a general rule. You don't even need a license or understanding of them to buy.

There’s something seriously wrong with David. David did soooo much fu*ked up things to his friends and he just laughs about it. One example when faked a movie deal with Jonah and Jonah was extremely hurt by it and he was just laughing at his face even when he know he was emotionally unstable and heartbroken.

@@audreybea4013 i have been telling people for like 2+ years that i thought david was either a sociopath or psychopath, usually i just say aspd since it is easier and that is what sociopaths and psychopaths are actually diagnosed with (which you prob already knew). I really liked your comment though because i always have a hard time explaining why i think he has aspd, for me it was something about his face and eyes and i know that is really cliche but i think there actually is some scientific backing for it. I mean i know he is a youtuber and they put on a show, but to me it always kind of seemed like his eyes were not displaying the same emotion that the rest of his face was and something just seemed a little off with his facial emotional reactions. That and he also gives 0 shits about peoples boundaries, likes to troll to an extreme and push people beyond their limits, is very charismatic, and he seems to just see his friends as video props.
Honestly social media has given narcissists and people with APD the perfect platform and it upsets me so much.
Something to think about it that David is essentially their employer. If they don’t work (ie do the stunts, or whatever else David wants), then they won’t get paid, which is essentially their lively hood. With that being said, it is a completely unbalanced power dynamic which can result in bad choices of judgment. No, David didn’t put a gun to anyone’s head, but the roof over their head is just as motivating🤷🏾♀️
Furthermore, another thing to think about is the fact that Jeff did NOT consent to damn near dying. Yes he consented to get on the excavator thing, yes he knew that David was driving it, but again he did NOT consent to nearly dying.
It’s the same concept as when a person gets into an Uber/Lyft/taxi. The person consents to being driven around by a different person, they do not consent to the person driving recklessly, or while distracted. That can lead to a really bad car accident. Did that person know that a car accident was possible, yes. Does that mean that they can’t potentially sue the driver for criminal negligence in the case of said horrible, life-altering car accident, no.
Also, DAVID WAS WHIPPING THE EXCAVATOR AROUND WITH ONE HAND, the other on his...you guessed it...HIS CAMERA🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

I've seen a lot of people blaming Jeff for getting on in the first place. While yes, it was ultimately his decision to get on the rope, David has built and promoted a very toxic culture where he NEEDS his friends to do crazy stuff so HE can get a good video from it. David has pressured most, if not all, of his friends into doing things they didn't actually want to do. He is manipulative, vile, and downright dangerous. David was controlling the machine - this is completely on him. He's lucky he hasn't been charged criminally for causing great bodily injury to Jeff.
