The decat Japspeed manifold is a beautiful looking exhaust manifold! In this video I'll show you how I installed it into my Lexus IS200!
Be warned... it's LOUD! xD
If you have a stock exhaust system, you should be okay. But if you have a sports cat or decat pipe with a cat back, this will be extremely loud. For a daily driver, I certainly wouldn't recommend it! :D

I'm always so relieved when it starts up and doesn't explode 😂 But the car really did sound obnoxious with that, especially on long drives, so hopefully it's a lot better now 👌🏼 Good job!! The happy noises you were making on the drive means it was a success ❤️

Well that answered my questions of "surely that will be loud as with your current system" and "will you really not get an EML with that?". Hope you keep doing vids if you continue with your plan.
Yeah it was pretty painful. I literally swapped it back the next day after I noticed the CEL! xD I will definitely continue to make videos with the IS300! The 2JZ platform is much better for modifications, so I'm excited to get my hands on one! Thanks for watching!
Interesting fact - my IS200 have catless manifold since a year and i have only O2 Oxygen Sensor Spacer on the last lambda sensor (after 3rd cat) and no CELL.
@@kamilnexonova5236 Yeah I also have an angled adaptor on the 3rd O2 sensor, and no issues. But on the manifold, I wasn't as lucky :)
Great to see you still awnser on your videos mate. I actually have a question. I am thinking of getting only the Cat-Back system. At the end you explained that the bung should be rewelded. Did you have any check engine // problems with just the catback and an angled adapter at the back? Or did the problems arise due to the manifold install. Thanks for your time. Greetings from Germany
Hey man! Yeah I actually had major misfire issues to the point where the car was running really badly. I ended up removing the decat manifold in the end. I had no issues with the cat back by itself though :) Good luck with the exhaust swap! Let me know if you have more questions. Schönen Abend! ✌

Great video. How can they sell the manifold as "for IS200s" if the O2 sensor hole isn't in the correct place?
I have a spare 200 Sportcross manual I intend to track, I know there won't be noticeable performance improvement but I want to "mod" something other than led lights haha.

Nothing noticeable to me, nope :)
Why would you need to change exhaust in order to put in a supercharger?
I had a few such plans myself, but my engine is burning oil, as the 1gFE tends to do. Don't want to supercharge it before I know the piston rings are OK. Burns about 1 liter per 3000 km, I guess about a quart every 1800 miles.
Depends what size pulley you want on the supercharger. At a certain power level, the precats on the manifold will melt.
Did you ever install the supercharger on this car? And if so, would/does the sports cat impose any problems compared to a decat?
Nope, I didn’t. I bought an IS300 instead. Not sure what you mean by your second question. In relation to the supercharger? 🤔

After some use how was the sound of the car good or was it annoying after awhile
I put the old manifold back on because of a CEL that wouldn’t disappear. Plus it was insanely loud haha 😜🤷🏻♂️
Do I have to remove the steering u joint to get the old manifold out ?

Month ago ago i just gutted my stock manifold and welded some cheap japcan on the back as stock one rusted off. Still not too loud as my charger whines more than exhaust.
In hindsight, this would probably have been a good option for me if I was still going to follow the supercharger route :)
@@shizukesajdm yeah gone with charger for 2years i think and gutted recently just to see if anything changes in sound and if cats get melted as everyone says but no, no changes lol. Move on on is300 as i wish i could.
@@foscmindscape How’s the charger? I’ve been looking for an IS300 for a few months now but no really good examples have come up. When they do come up... they’re usually silver and I don’t want silver 😅
@@shizukesajdm dude how's the charger its great they should be made like this well power wise then they match tezzas i guess 3sge. Im a turbo guy love that sound but charger was way cheaper and easier to do it myself not touching exhaust and still running on stock ecu and having maybe less 40hp than a turbo.. su yeah better with but still not great not enough and not worth now to go turbo..
@@foscmindscape No black box? I can't wait to see how the 2JZ-GE feels. I will probably go NA-T at some point. Then later on: 550cc injectors, GTE head gasket, Link G4+, Walbro 255 etc. I've never owned anything faster than the IS200, so even the stock IS300 will be an upgrade :)
1:50 would i need to disconnect battery just to replace exhaust manifold gasket on stock system? Would it mess with o2 sensor at all throw codes/EML?

Hi! I wondered how Japspeed manifold holds after a year - were there any problems?
I removed it and returned it a week after this video because the design isn’t correct for the car as I mentioned near the end of the video 👍🏻

I have IS200 with TTE Supercharger from 2003 and I wondered if it is good idea to replace old manifold with the Japspeed one because old falling apart :/ - in Poland Japspeed seems to be the cheapest way to replace it. I think I can handle the check engine by adjusting the O2 sensors fitment - we will see! :)
@@Kaze703 Awesome! That was my original plan before I got the IS300. just get someone to reweld the O2 bung in the correct position and it’ll be fine :) try not use angled sensors too 👍🏻

I got is200 few weeks a go. It has toyospeed full exhaust without cat and check engine light is on 😓 p0141 code -_-

@@matthewmantee195 If they don’t ship to Canada, you could arrange an external courier. If you know anyone in the U.K. then they could buy it and ship it for you 👍🏻 It may be easier to get a custom one made up at a local garage 🤷🏻♂️ good luck!

Hello mate, I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere to my question, I bought an is200 same manifold as this but it’s missing the 2nd o2 sensor, i can’t for the life of me find out where it’s suppose to plug into from the manifold. O2 sensor goes on manifold and that’s all good but where does it plug into after that?

Yes, the manifold only holds pre cats which don’t affect emissions :) the main cat takes care of that!
Nothing on this car is ever straight forward, there's always something in the way.
