@@yoshuatree8538 even less depending on where you are. I was working in Arkansas at Cheddars as a server for the three years at $2.63/hr +tips. While I worked at this restaurant, all of my paychecks were nulled or maybe $5 if I worked 80hours in the paycheck time frame because of taxation on my hourly rate, but also taxes on my tips if they were on card. That’s another point to discuss. I could lie and pocket my cash tips at work and not “claim” them so I could survive a little longer on the little money I had because they can’t tax cash tips unless you report them at the end of your shift. With all these machines being added to restaurants/cafes, the tips will always be taxed. It’s despicable. After working in restaurants and bars for almost 10 years and have gotten out, I can agree with the idea of increasing base rate pay and lessening the idea of tips being mandatory/heavily influenced to do it. If companies can’t pay a decent living wage so workers aren’t over stressing their minds and bodies to put a meal on the table, then that business shouldn’t be open.

That showed a lack of understanding, honestly. I used to call into radio stations in the middle of the night when I was 17 because I was stuck in an abusive home, home-schooled and isolated, and I desperately needed to talk to someone. I would have killed myself if I didn't have that. I heard a lot of other people in similar positions ring - or people who were on the verge of suicide, or whose mum had just died, or something. Talk radio is there for a reason.

When Amanda said, "Dogs are so loyal. If you get lost in the woods, they will follow you!" STORY TIME...
Growing up, I lived in the country. We didn't have a farm or anything, just 10 acres of land with some woods. When I was 4 or 5, I decided to go on my own little adventure and I went into our woods. Our cat, Mama Kitty, and our dog, Shren, followed me and herded me back to the house. I very vaguely remember it, but I remember looking behind me and both of them were keeping up with me and making sure I was going in the right direction. Both animals showed love and loyalty and made sure my dumbass baby self was safe. :D Cats and dogs are amazing and I'm so happy they exist.

As someone who still lives with my dad and currently has 20 dollars in my bank account. I work a full time job that pays well over minimum wage and between car payments and phone bills. Sometimes tipping is actually impossible for some people and the people who believe you should always tip a lot of money need a better perspective on others who aren't as fortunate. Like I understand people need tips to survive, but I also have to survive and if I give 5 extra dollars every time I want to treat myself. It simply isn't feasible. ALSO tipping machines should always have a customize option, because giving %1.00 is better than nothing and only being able to choose 10 or 20% makes it impossible.

Another note for showers. People can have issues with executive function. Meaning they may have issues with "common" tasks like brushing teeth, showers, eating, changing clothes.
Also many people with disabilities dont have access to bathing areas.

Very true. Things like mental illness can effect how often people do these things. When my depression gets bad sometimes I just cant bring myself to do that kind of stuff for a while. Also, where I live, the mineral content in the water is so high that if you take a shower every day your skin and hair get SO DRY, and it's just genuinely bad for your skin.

I shower once every 3 or 4 days. Only because I'm in my head way too much and getting 24/7 distracted with thoughts of oo what's this what's this what's this. Then something interesting comes along and you focus solely on that thing then something stupid ALWAYS gets in the way like school and work because after you finally notice what time it is after you finally get out of your head enough to notice the time you just skip the shower from the rush of oh shit oh shit oh shit forgetting it entirely because of not having time to take one then after work. It's like the cycle repeats itself.

I can't tell you the amount of times somebody suggested I should or shouldn't do something only for me to say 'don't tell me what to do' and do the exact opposite of what they suggested. A couple months ago, I was at work when my colleague jokingly said 'don't eat that receipt!'. I looked straight at her as I put the paper in my mouth, chewed and swallowed...I'm 34, I'm pretty sure I should have grown out of this by now!

For me, I could go either way, but I super relate to Damien.
If someone asks me to do something out of the blue or to help them, I'll probably do it.
However, one of my biggest pet peeves is someone telling me to do something I was already gonna do, or, worse yet, telling me to hurry up what I'm doing.
If I'm off to do a chore, and someone says, "hey, you should do that chore," then I will feel less inclined to do it.
My basest example is that if I'm crossing the road with a green pedestrian light, and a car honks at me, I would walk slower, or sometimes even stop just to spite them.
A small part of me thinks that doing this might help reinforce in them that that kind of behavior doesn't work when trying to motivate other people to do something you want them to do.

6:30 "Doggy Doors" Not everyone lives a perfect life without wilderness outside. My dog gets sprayed enough times, and letting go outside whenever he wants is a no go. Some may say you can lock it, but what would happen at day when it's unlocked and a squirrel gets a little curious, now I got a bloody carpet and a dead squirrel that I don't know what to do with. Not to mention, my dog kills anything that gets in the yard, bird, critters, everything except dogs and people, maybe cats. On time a bunny was in our garden and my dog kept barking through the garden fence. The bunny got so stressed it died, not by him, by stress. I'm just saying, when I let my dog in he'll never be holding his prey, he leaves it on the patio. But what do you think would happen if his shelter was open 24/7. He'd bring his pray inside, take it to his bed, and get blood all over it. Sorry, but nope. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of this, but it's not that simple. Also, you can't get a doggy door if you don't have a fence, and many people don't. By the way, I have to dogs, a small Morkie and a big Husky. Sure, my big one would be fine outside all the time, like stated before. But my small one would be terrified. He might be watching that door all day seeing if something will come in. Sure, my big one is really protective and would lunge at that thing, but what if he was in a different room. A racoon could get in and hurt my little puppy (not really a puppy) Not to mention all the bugs that would take over your house. A doggy door isn't that simple, but I do agree that dogs are better than cats.

The tipping question annoys me because i'm pretty sure its only a normal thing in America, everywhere else has tips as an optional thing in some places and Japan i'm pretty sure discourages tipping. Tipping is so normalised in America because their employers don't pay them living wages in the first place and makes workers rely on tips where as in places like Australia a worker can get decent pay without the need for tips-
