I have a strong opinion on tipping. Americans employers should and must pay their employees the amount enough for living expenses. Tipping should not be the norm, it must only be optional
Agree man, why tf put extra stress on everyone else to make sure that person makes enough money?
I agree. Tipping has made it acceptable for a company to pay employees 4$ an hour
@@yoshuatree8538 even less depending on where you are. I was working in Arkansas at Cheddars as a server for the three years at $2.63/hr +tips. While I worked at this restaurant, all of my paychecks were nulled or maybe $5 if I worked 80hours in the paycheck time frame because of taxation on my hourly rate, but also taxes on my tips if they were on card. That’s another point to discuss. I could lie and pocket my cash tips at work and not “claim” them so I could survive a little longer on the little money I had because they can’t tax cash tips unless you report them at the end of your shift. With all these machines being added to restaurants/cafes, the tips will always be taxed. It’s despicable. After working in restaurants and bars for almost 10 years and have gotten out, I can agree with the idea of increasing base rate pay and lessening the idea of tips being mandatory/heavily influenced to do it. If companies can’t pay a decent living wage so workers aren’t over stressing their minds and bodies to put a meal on the table, then that business shouldn’t be open.
agreed completely. I didn't even know tipping existed untill I watched American TV shows and the concept has always seemed so strange to me.
Exactly, they really need to change it at this point. The expected tipping amount is starting to get really high too because of inflation. Pay the employees! They deserve a good flat rate (so tips can be extra). They shouldn't have to rely on customers knowing how to tip to afford their rent
I love how Shayne suggests they should just round it off, and Olivia comes up with exactly the same idea and is completely oblivious LMAO
My problem with this is Olivia naively believes that if something was $0.51 that they'd round it down to $0.50, when we all know darn well that they'd round up to $0.55 or $0.60.
@@timburke8855 As a canadian, I can confirm we round down in that scenario. However , I would obviously expect capitalist america to round up however.

olivia's reaction when she realizes shes the only one in the disagree lane for the shower question is simply incredible

@@wasteinyourandmytime who cares what they think? keep your hair healthy
@@wasteinyourandmytime i would guess that reaction is likely due to genetic/cultural differences with hair washing. i'm korean and my scalp and hair get super greasy if i don't wash it every day. i imagine it's likely a greater population of east asians have that condition as well. but you definitely shouldn't wash your hair every day if it's hurting you!
@@wasteinyourandmytime Because it's not bad for your hair. its a myth that it is.

Shayne's impression of Courtney was absolutely spot on.
Damien's wide stance ehile explaining why he likes people clapping on planes was so flipping funny😂
Damien going to the front made me NERVOUS but plane clapping as a filter mechanism for assholes BRILLIANT I should never doubt him
Damien’s joke of “that’s true doe” as a pun on “Trudeau” went way under-appreciated
I was gonna say everyone slept on that joke
I have never related more to Olivia then when she said "I can't even eat a toasted ciabatta sandwich without scraping the roof of my mouth".
"why do you feel so... self important enough to clap and make a loud sound in a public place"
Olivia understands. Thank you Olivia.
As someone with depression, I have a really hard time maintaining my personal hygiene. There's been days where I haven't showered in three days and physically can't bring myself to brush my teeth. It's nice to know that I'm not being shamed for something that's hard for me to complete
You shouldn’t be shamed for that type of stuff, but you should definitely try to find a way to motivate yourself to take care of yourself better. As hard as it is when you’re dealing with depression, I’m sure you can find a way to push yourself to take better care of your hygiene. If you adopt the mentality that it’s ok to not take care of your hygiene, that’ll only make your situation worse.
@@blazehaze233 no one can conceptualize what depression is until they get it,i genuinely believe that.
I think that people should be more empathetic and open minded to possibilities like these(missing hygiene because of depression) but there shouldn't be complete acceptance and tolerance to wrong behavior. When you you're in a depressive episode the single worst thing you can do is do things that make you feel even worse about yourself.
@@blazehaze233 physically impossible? umm no, if you're depressed it's definitely physically possible. There's not something literally stopping you from taking a shower, except yourself. Everyone feels depressed at some point in their life.
I've gone a month without showering. I'll wear a hood at school so people don't see my hair and then I'll just spray perfume and wear deodorant.
@boomfamgdb me in my adolescence was so bad. There'd be times where my hair would be pretty much matter and absolutely greasy and I couldn't feel enough shame to get up and get in the shower. I'm a bit better now, at most only last one to two weeks before I force myself, but it takes me at least ten minutes once I'm in the shower to start doing stuff and not just standing their avoiding it
I think a really important thing that was missing from Shayne and Olivia talking about showering every day is the idea of working out. Shayne and Olivia are both very fit, so they probably work out almost every day, and if you've worked up a big sweat, you need a shower. Plus it feels great after a workout.
True, shower after a workout feels great
Mah just like Tommy said, if you're doing nothing it's kind of fun to chill in your sweat x)
And it feels so clean before bed
Olivia works out frequently
Yeah, it makes sense that the two people who always work out will shower every day. And I get the whole shower being a reset thing and sort of therapeutic... but I sometimes don't shower for 3 days because I'm just not bothered lol. As long as you don't stink or feel sweaty, what's the point? Just change your clothes and do what feels good for you.
Also, depending on the type of hair you havewashing it every day might be what it needs
As someone who is having a really hard time and hasnt showered like 4 days, this made me feel a lot better for myself.
Sorry to hear you're having a hard time, I hope you get through it!
That sounds rough. Maybe a shower would help you feel better?
[this was a joke. hope you feel better]
I was gonna mention, it's really hard to even get out of bed, let alone practice self-care when deeply depressed. This is called rumination.
My thought process when it happens is "I'm stuck in this dark pit. I just want to rot and die. I could care less how I look or feel."
Eventually, your external appearance reflects how you feel internally...
that’s nasty :)

Olivia ABSOLUTELY gives cat energy
Her showering 3 times a day honestly contributes to this vibe
Love seeing genuine Olivia, not in any character. Her characters she commits to or exaggerations she does sometimes, they are hilarious, don't get me wrong! But this is refreshing and sweet.
I always think of the time she was so enthusiastic about the MIMAL man.
It's kinda sweet...but of the six in today's video she was the most judgy.
Olivia is literally wilder than any of the characters she plays.
Shayne, I'm born and raised in Wisconsin. I love it, and it will always be my home. If you think for one second the people I grew up with would clap at a plane landing...you are absolutely right. We're fucking dorks.
Opposite experiences had being born and raised in Minnesota. We don't like to draw attention to ourselves, and clapping would immediately draw eyes. Obviously there are exceptions, but flying from Minnesota to another location seems to be a less engaging experience than flying from other locations. We keep to ourselves, but might try to throw in small talk.
I don't really get it, I'm from belgium and clapping at a plane landing used to be quite normal here (read: the whole plane did it everytime). To me it just felt like some sort of etiquette to show appreciation towards the pilot for the nice flight, like thanking the bus driver you know. While the custom has died out over here, I kinda never saw or considered it as something negative, it was a bit useless perhaps but I don't really get the argument of olivia of doing it out of self importance or anything, it's quite the opposite in fact.
Amanda's take on the take-a-penny, leave-a-penny tray was low key quite profound. Touching on that desire/need for support and community hit me hard.
I’ve honestly never heard or seen of these, but they sound quite nice and I enjoy the thought of it
I leave my pennies there because I have literally no use for pennies because they are outdated, useless tokens of Zinc
That almost changed my mind on the penny
we could just change it to a nickel

idk why but I get what she was trying to say
@@rantingegalitarian4043 I totally agreed with her. It’s like you’re trying to get attention but no one cares even if it’s an audience lol
That showed a lack of understanding, honestly. I used to call into radio stations in the middle of the night when I was 17 because I was stuck in an abusive home, home-schooled and isolated, and I desperately needed to talk to someone. I would have killed myself if I didn't have that. I heard a lot of other people in similar positions ring - or people who were on the verge of suicide, or whose mum had just died, or something. Talk radio is there for a reason.
The showering question is hard because depression sometimes takes over. "I work with Courtney every day and I don't think she's ever showered in her life." SHAYNE NO.

damien talking about not wanting to do something when someone tells you to after you were already planning on it - ACCURATE AND IM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU
Im the same way, and I feel like it's some weird kinda control thing (as many things are.) Like we get frustrated when someone tells us to do something cuz like we were choosing, by ourselves, to do a thing, but when someone tells us to do it, now it feels like were just doing what were told, and not what we chose to do. Idk, might be talkin out my ass, but that tracks for me 🤷♂️

I will be getting ready to take out the trash and my dad will say “take out the trash” and now it’s a chore so I don’t want to do it
Y’all should look into demand avoidance and how it relates to neurodivergence - even if it’s not relevant to you, it’s a good thing to be aware of!!
When Amanda said, "Dogs are so loyal. If you get lost in the woods, they will follow you!" STORY TIME...
Growing up, I lived in the country. We didn't have a farm or anything, just 10 acres of land with some woods. When I was 4 or 5, I decided to go on my own little adventure and I went into our woods. Our cat, Mama Kitty, and our dog, Shren, followed me and herded me back to the house. I very vaguely remember it, but I remember looking behind me and both of them were keeping up with me and making sure I was going in the right direction. Both animals showed love and loyalty and made sure my dumbass baby self was safe. :D Cats and dogs are amazing and I'm so happy they exist.
Good thing they were there for you and got you safe 😊.
Reminds me of a video online where a cat was preventing a baby to fall down the stairs.

Damien: going to the movies alone sounds spooky and hard
Anxiety gang let's goooo
I was also thinking, "Well yeah, he's more introverted. If we're not going out as a specific outting with friends, we'd rather just watch it at home."
Because anxiety and introversion is like, "You want me to go where and do what?" Speaking from all the experience.
Personally as someone who has done both in MS & HS, I like going in a group better. When I was alone, I felt like everyone else thought I was a loser with no friends lmao.
woot woot
I'm the same way. I have gone to movies by myself, but I always don't really like it. I wanted to see a movie once, and none of my friends were available or wanted to see it. When I was alone, I cried because I felt lonely. It was weird, and embarrassing. But totally get the "spooky and hard" part of it.

23:21 cheetah girls 2, high school musical 2, dark knight etc there are so many incredible sequels
I relate to Damien's unwillingness to do things I was already planning on doing when I've been told to them. My theory/observation is that it feels inauthentic and ruins the satisfaction of self-starting when someone else recommends or instructs that I do something.
THIS!!
I'm very big on being independent, it makes me feel good. So when someone tells me to take care of something I was already thinking about doing, I lose all motivation cause now it doesn't feel like my good idea anymore, its *their* good idea. Ruins the satisfaction of being independent.
Same here...
It could be that but it’s also something one should bring up with a therapist/psychologist especially if that person has previously been diagnosed with ADHD (and maybe also autism) since oppositional defiant disorder is a frequent enough comorbidity. ODD for adults is more common with those with ADHD than those without it
@@Corrugated_Boxi know there’s a symptom of autism called “pathological demand avoidance” & it’s exactly that. whenever you feel a lessened sense of autonomy or like someone is telling you that you HAVE to do something, there’s a visceral feeling of needing to deny or avoid that. it can often be seen from other people as just ‘being difficult’, but it’s a strong feeling of needing to maintain control
Yes, it demotivates you because it robs you of your agency, and agency is essential to successfully self-actualize.
Amanda: "You lose the chance to stick it under a desk"
Shayne: (automatic) "ooh, F*ck you!"
I relate to that on an entirely different level.
21:37 absolutely. It’s the check point of the night. Once I shower I stay home and get all cozy. If I don’t go out at all and I’m fresh Bc I showered the night prior that’s the only time I’ll skip a shower. But the absolute second I leave the house- means I have to shower later before bed. I don’t like any sort of scents from outside to enter my room/bed. If I go outside I have to shower before bed period. Disclaimer I also have OCD so that’s probably why
Listen to the “yeah” at 21:02, it sounds like yoshi i swear to god.
Shayne's idea to remove the penny and just start rounding is exactly what we've been doing in Canada since like 2013
i think we should abolish physical currency altogether cause it's a waste of metals and paper.
@@JudojugsVtuber i disagree because earlier this month one of the biggest internet providers in all of canada had a nationwide outage and the debit went down on the same day so everyone was scrambling to get their hands on some cash. 23:42 "Maybe the next Amanda will be better" Lmao burn
Damien at 15:15 - Demand Avoidance! Haha ☺️ I've recently been figuring it out for myself. Even if it just feels like a something I feel like people say I should do something there's the underlying urge to absolutely not do it
15:10 That's a common occurrence with anxious people, to be fair, and I suppose it comes mostly from the feeling of control being taken away. It doesn't matter that I'd already set my mind on somethin; when someone tells me to do it, it feels like they're deciding for me, and I just want to wrestle back my "free will" the clearest way possible - doing the exact opposite of what they said.
Yeah for sure it's like now someone's expectant of me performing the task and it's all of a sudden more pressure to do just a simple thing
It's also pretty common with people with ADHD which I think Damien has?
Omg thank you this makes perfect sense

I'm 190cm so I haven't faced any height discrimination in my life, but it strikes me as incredibly superficial. To me putting a height requirement in a profile it's more or less the same as someone writing "no women with small breasts" on their profile.
We all have our preferences of course, but to instantly disregard someone because of a single physical attribute rather than considering their entire package is just so unbelievably one-dimensional.
The only reason people care about height as much as they do now is because of the internet. You're being compared to EVERYONE on the internet now, not just the people you meet in real life. So now people are entitled thinking they're going to wait for that perfect someone that they've seen online, but will never meet in real life.
some ideas:
- it’s better to shower at night rather than in the morning
- it’s better to take shoes off in your home
- cold weather or hot weather
i know this isn't the most recent one but i actually really enjoy these series
i'm assuming these are your genuine opinions and more insight to you guys as individuals
it's a very awesome way to connect to your audience
keep it going i say
17:28 I took a screenshot of this because this is such meme material. Shayne looking like he's trying to guiltily explain himself while everyone looks at him with shame. Perfect.
Video idea: Send Damien to the movies by himself. Or just say you're doing a video at a theatre and then no one else shows up.
No someone should drive him there, make sure he gets a ticket and then make an excuse to go to the bathroom and then out the door. 😂
If no one shows up Damien would probably just leave the theatre to find them 😂
that sounds like a nightmare and flashbacks to school bullying no thx
I just keep thinking about the April Fools video of Damien doing a puzzle all by himself for an hour. He really doesn't like to be alone.
@@katy6729 Yeah tricking people into doing shit involving abandonment is not cool at all
“It makes no difference whether you poop in the trash or throw it out now!” Damien… are you shitting in a trash can?
Alright let's get a tally. Shitting in a trash can is better than going straight to the landfills to shit:
*AGREE* / *DISAGREE*
As someone who still lives with my dad and currently has 20 dollars in my bank account. I work a full time job that pays well over minimum wage and between car payments and phone bills. Sometimes tipping is actually impossible for some people and the people who believe you should always tip a lot of money need a better perspective on others who aren't as fortunate. Like I understand people need tips to survive, but I also have to survive and if I give 5 extra dollars every time I want to treat myself. It simply isn't feasible. ALSO tipping machines should always have a customize option, because giving %1.00 is better than nothing and only being able to choose 10 or 20% makes it impossible.
Love the honesty and awkward moments
Another note for showers. People can have issues with executive function. Meaning they may have issues with "common" tasks like brushing teeth, showers, eating, changing clothes.
Also many people with disabilities dont have access to bathing areas.
Very true. Things like mental illness can effect how often people do these things. When my depression gets bad sometimes I just cant bring myself to do that kind of stuff for a while. Also, where I live, the mineral content in the water is so high that if you take a shower every day your skin and hair get SO DRY, and it's just genuinely bad for your skin.
i really need to push myself or have others push me to brush my teeth. showers too. (better recently because i shower after working out because even I can smell myself). no seratonin drop on my brain from common tasks.
I shower once every 3 or 4 days. Only because I'm in my head way too much and getting 24/7 distracted with thoughts of oo what's this what's this what's this. Then something interesting comes along and you focus solely on that thing then something stupid ALWAYS gets in the way like school and work because after you finally notice what time it is after you finally get out of your head enough to notice the time you just skip the shower from the rush of oh shit oh shit oh shit forgetting it entirely because of not having time to take one then after work. It's like the cycle repeats itself.
I have never related more to Damien and Tomey then when they said they don’t like when ppl tell them to do stuff.
I can't tell you the amount of times somebody suggested I should or shouldn't do something only for me to say 'don't tell me what to do' and do the exact opposite of what they suggested. A couple months ago, I was at work when my colleague jokingly said 'don't eat that receipt!'. I looked straight at her as I put the paper in my mouth, chewed and swallowed...I'm 34, I'm pretty sure I should have grown out of this by now!
For me, I could go either way, but I super relate to Damien.
If someone asks me to do something out of the blue or to help them, I'll probably do it.
However, one of my biggest pet peeves is someone telling me to do something I was already gonna do, or, worse yet, telling me to hurry up what I'm doing.
If I'm off to do a chore, and someone says, "hey, you should do that chore," then I will feel less inclined to do it.
My basest example is that if I'm crossing the road with a green pedestrian light, and a car honks at me, I would walk slower, or sometimes even stop just to spite them.
A small part of me thinks that doing this might help reinforce in them that that kind of behavior doesn't work when trying to motivate other people to do something you want them to do.
It's absolutely wild because their justification about not reading is exactly my own justification about not reading.
So happy you guys did another one of this!!! Great video as always!
6:30 "Doggy Doors" Not everyone lives a perfect life without wilderness outside. My dog gets sprayed enough times, and letting go outside whenever he wants is a no go. Some may say you can lock it, but what would happen at day when it's unlocked and a squirrel gets a little curious, now I got a bloody carpet and a dead squirrel that I don't know what to do with. Not to mention, my dog kills anything that gets in the yard, bird, critters, everything except dogs and people, maybe cats. On time a bunny was in our garden and my dog kept barking through the garden fence. The bunny got so stressed it died, not by him, by stress. I'm just saying, when I let my dog in he'll never be holding his prey, he leaves it on the patio. But what do you think would happen if his shelter was open 24/7. He'd bring his pray inside, take it to his bed, and get blood all over it. Sorry, but nope. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of this, but it's not that simple. Also, you can't get a doggy door if you don't have a fence, and many people don't. By the way, I have to dogs, a small Morkie and a big Husky. Sure, my big one would be fine outside all the time, like stated before. But my small one would be terrified. He might be watching that door all day seeing if something will come in. Sure, my big one is really protective and would lunge at that thing, but what if he was in a different room. A racoon could get in and hurt my little puppy (not really a puppy) Not to mention all the bugs that would take over your house. A doggy door isn't that simple, but I do agree that dogs are better than cats.
I NEED more Tommy and Amanda together. I need it. They are are sequel to Shane and Courtney.
In that case, sequels are not better than originals because Shourtney chemistry has been unmatched
@@ldarkllrevanl181 kinda sad that even the combined name has to bring up Shane's height
2:30 “that’s Tru-Deau” I see what you did there Damian
1:41 Ian is most likely to derail a video
It's fine to clap after landing. It's a way of showing appreciation to the flight attendants and pilots for their good work in keeping people comfortable and safe. That's not an easy job to do, and they deserve recognition for it.
Amanda and Tommy always get wheezy belly laughs out of me.
That's it. That's my comment. Thanks you two.
Being from Wisconsin I was at first offended and then remembered who I grew up with so fair. You win this time Shayne….
14:50
Damien, that’s a symptom of neurodiversity and ADHD
Courtney's not even in the video and shayne still roast her - true friendship
Not really a friendship anymore 😏
I don’t clap when the plane lands, but I watched a video of a pilot answering questions and he said that they do appreciate it when they can hear it, so since then I don’t think it’s so bad 😂
That's interesting! I always wondered if they felt patronized by people clapping after landing. Like somehow people didn't have confidence in them being able to land but because they did they deserve a clap lol
Tommy at 1:48 needs to be used for memes
The tipping question annoys me because i'm pretty sure its only a normal thing in America, everywhere else has tips as an optional thing in some places and Japan i'm pretty sure discourages tipping. Tipping is so normalised in America because their employers don't pay them living wages in the first place and makes workers rely on tips where as in places like Australia a worker can get decent pay without the need for tips-
