I played Mario kart Wii when it first came out on the Wii. Now nearly 10 years later I’m starting to get back into it and have it emulated on my pc using dolphin. How can I join the online community, and is it still active? I’ve heard of both CTGP-R and Wiimfi, but am not sure which is better.

Can somebody explain why there's 2 people racing the track backwards?
They’re known as baggers and there is always one on each team. They’re main goal is to search for the lightning bolt, also known as a “shock”, in an effort to gain an advantage in the race. The item is incredibly powerful, especially in this war format, to the point that each team will have one person dedicated to driving backwards to find it, use it, and turn the tides in the race. The baggers have a couple of other uses such as dropping stars or mushrooms on certain courses, but searching for the shock is their main, overall goal.

I would love to see you play some other maps like rainbow-road, maybe not in a competative game, it would just be interesting how a pro drives them
rainbow road is not as popular online among the best players, due to its broken running potential and lag bumps, but it is still played occasionally. You can look up “MKWII Rainbow Road Flamerunner BKT” to see how the best driving looks.

They use custom servers, you can find an install guide if you look up Wiimmfi

Not sure I understood your question, but he said "activate shock", if that's what you asked
@@adril_wfk3680 yeah I know he says it, but how does he call it, like when does he know that someone has a shock?
@@hardcore2582 the bagger says "I have shock" or something similar to tell his partners that he has the shock. This is usually done with several power items (POW, blue shell, etc ...) to let the team know the opportunity they have. If you listen closely, your can hear the bagger say "it's shockless" regularly when he knows nobody has the shock, or "I have shock" when he pulls it

Howcome it’s -20 penalty in race 6 when the bagger hit fox and not -5 like the 1st time? Congrats on 10k :)
bagger was in a power item (couldn't tell what it was) for the -20, but he only bumped him for the -5
if you wheelie bump runner and it effects their position (mostly it does) its minus 5 if its hit in a star or bill its minus 20
idk the terminology, could someone explain this penalty thing more clearly or direct me to where to read abt it?
@@catatoniccircus8774 iirc, basically you can't interfere with drivers going forward in any way. If you wheelie bump / bump them it's -5, and if you hit them with a power item (star or bill) it's -20. Feel free to correct me if I miss some points

why does mura use daisy instead of funky
just personal preference. Daisy has better drift and acceleration but a lower weight stat, also daisy mach makes some shortcuts easier due to her small hit box
