I’m glad there’s someone that thoroughly loves gta 3 like I do it’s just something about the charm of the game 😫
For being such a big deal on release, I feel like it gets overlooked in retrospect. It has a unique atmosphere and tone that the series never quite touched again. Liberty City is how city streets feel in those dreams where you have a long walk home at night.

Liberty City feels like Carcer City, or Racoon City, or even Silent Hill… just super eerie for no specific reason, I agree GTA never had that luminous feeling since GTA3. I blame it on the PS2 I’m the early days just not being able to render many peds and traffic, so that’s why (to me at least) the city felt eerie and creepy. It’s almost like I went back to really try to enjoy THPS1 OG (because I didn’t really play as a kid much), and that game was very eerie and luminous (specifically The Mall, and School levels). Greet atmosphere but it was probably unintentional for both GTA3 and THPS.

I like how you get into the economic factors of the Marty Chonks plotline. I had never really made the connection that the absence of pets is connected to Chonks getting desperate enough to kill people.
Manhunt explores some similar ideas, with Carcer City being an easy place to stage murder shows because all the factories are shutting down and the city is in decay.

I like how cold Claude is in these missions. He's getting paid to drive and he doesn't ask questions. For a mission line where you don't really get your hands dirty, I think it shows Claude at his darkest.
Well he doesn't talk? Of course he cant ask questions so i dont see how it makes him cold when he never talks the whole game
@@malletUsergamingI think what sucko is trying to say is that Claude despite being mute was still capable of potentially warning those people that they were being driven to Thier deaths but did it anyway as long as he was getting paid

Claude was such a legend of Liberty City. I wonder if he is alive today and what is he doing.

@@carreviewer6345 their is a difference between stoicism and psychopathy? He reserves his emotions in order to carry out difficult tasks, to be truly strong he must never show weakness whether that's sadness, empathy, grief etc. He has shown to have cared about Catalina and some could argue Maria?

ever since the game came out I never knew of these missions. I always assumed the phone ringing was coming from inside Joeys garage.. It wasnt until i was playing a few years ago that I stumbled upon those missions. crazy! one of the many reasons i love this game!

Marty was the only criminal Who really concerned me. I’m doing all the jobs for him and he keeps telling me he is losing money because of his divorce or his failed business. So if you’re telling me you have all these money problems, then why the hell are you hiring me? I never got to meet the guy and instead hear him over a payphone. I could be doing all these jobs for free!

Omg I play GTA 3 since I was about 9 years old (I am now 30) and TODAY, 22nd of May 2024, I find out about this guy and his missions.....WITH GTA 3 installed on my phone, I just finished The Exchange like 2 days ago.
I just opened up the game and rushed to the location but sadly the phone doesn't ring anymore....
😆 as someone who never played through these telephone missions it's interesting and hilarious to see how it turned out. From Marty meeting his end with karma to Love taking the business. I never had a clue Love was into cannibalism either I just wanted to get through his missions because he was such a vague character.
