The common theme is of an older car of historical interest to be collectible and tend to be restored rather than scrapped. Classic cars are a subset of a broader category of "collector cars" (which includes both restored classic cars vehicles and newer exotic vehicles). A subset of what is considered classic cars are known as antique cars (manufactured before 1980) or vintage cars (manufactured pre-World War II. This is Vol 2 hope you enjoy..

I grew up in the late 60’s and 70’s as a kid and while the world was not perfect, we lived , I think, in the last best decades. These were the last years of the true America! Many commercials and ads had the words USA and America in them, even food commercials. I remember the bicentennial in the 70’s and the entire country no matter where you lived celebrated it from New York to San Francisco. Technology , while great for many things, had destroyed Society starting with the smartphone. Of course we did not have anything like we have today , I mean we did not even have microwaves and we waited for everything and now that I look back I would have no problem doing that all over again. We have lost our way in America! So thank you to the one that uploaded this great memory lane video as it soothes my heart knowing I cam from a much better time.

I did too and the cars in the late 60s and early 70s had the muscle cars before the first gas shortage when car got smaller and ugly .

Well said !! Technology hasn't made the world any better and in some cases worse (ask anyone who's had their bank account hacked or the parents of suicide victims who've got bullied on social media)

You have to admire the courage of that model who climbed into that Mercury Cougar with a real live Cougar at 9:32 !

If we only knew what that plum crazy purple challenger is worth now we would have all run out and bought one back then and kept them especially the ones with 426 hemi’s

They only made a handful with the larger engines. Too expensive for most customers. Have a friend with a true superbird. They couldn’t sell many of them back in the day, and most were deeply discounted months later to finally move them off the lots.

Yeah I remember in early 1974 when dealer lots were full of Challengers they couldn't get rid of and the older ones were already being junked. They were gas eaters but gas prices were stable so no real big deal. All I drove back then were gas eaters.

Just think, the cost of making a car commercial today is more expensive than the price of the car, then. 🤔

I noticed that too, only it was 7 years BEFORE Smokey and The Bandit came out. WTF? Is that a strange coincidence or did Jackie Gleason take inspiration from this commercial???
And was it just me or did the driver have an eery resemblance to Burt Reynolds without a mustache???

"Football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden Cars". Now that´s the kind of nationalism that I can tolerate.
Just imagine how many people of today would cry havoc and complain in their snowflake manner. I bet that the lawsuits would be huge if a commercial like that would see the light of day in these "modern" and "civilized" times that we all live in.
Oh how I miss the simpler times...

As far as for gas it seems they haven't made any progress. 40 to 30 mpg than now 19 to 20 mpg. Are going backwards?
