- When you live on a boat and a hurricane is coming, especially a monster Cat 5 like Irma, you run for zee hills.
Fortunately, the storm turned at the zero hour and left much less destruction than it could have. Still, this one had everyone in Florida fearing the worst.
For those interested in keeping up with my kayak rental business that I'm attempting to start, your best bet for up to date info is my public facebook page. No friend requests necessary Just give it a like;

For now, the storm has postponed my zoning meeting with the county so I still don't have an office trailer on the premises. Which means I still can't get internet! GRRR! So, forgive me if my replies to your comments and messages are slow.
Thanks for Watching,
Marty - Sport
Marty, this may be my favorite video of yours, knowing that you're all good!!! Looking forward to more adventures!
My sentiments exactly
That Bob Ross shirt! 😂
I know!
I'm watching this video with a smile on my face. The fact that the people of Florida came together in this hard time is amazing.
Glad to see you made it through the hurricane. Been checking the channel everyday so this is a big relief.
Every time I heard "Tampa" on the news those two crucial days of the hurricane, I thought about all your work and anticipations of your "venture" on that property and prayed for protection from the oncoming wrath of nature ! Thanks for this update !!
I was so scared about your healt, fortunatelt you are right
Some love from Argentina (sorry for my inglish)
Andre Better than some Americans!
THANK GOD for GOOD FRIENDS to HELP WEATHER THE HURRICANE!!!!!
Yee ha !! Back on the boat, all safe and sound......well done. What an operation but you saved every thing. Great news...now get busy setting up and may the real fun begin !! GO MARTY !!
Rita, Katrina, Ike, Harvey and a bunch of others. Fellow hurricane vet here. Knew what you meant. Such a helpless feeling driving away before the storm. Bet it's old hat for you now but that helpless feeling never goes away. Great video Marty.
I the feeling ..i remember going out to my uncles boat and securing it ..before major storm..that helpless feeling you get
I lived in Key West when Irma came through. I have never been so scared in my life. Glad you were safe my man.
Glad you stayed safe. Not sure what we would do without the calming videos.
So VERY happy to see you all weathered the storm ! Now PLEASE get back to more kayak fishing videos !!
So happy to know y'all made it through Irma and glad to see y'all were safe during the storm and returned home to everything the way you left it.
Glad to see that you are all safe 👍
Happy little trees and we don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents. God rest his soul. Keep it up! And I'm sure a lot of ppl have been waiting for this update, just like me. Glad it wasn't as bad as it could've been.
Love the shirt, as Bob Ross used to say "It's your world, let's put a tree right here" . Glad you are safe and in good spirits.
you raising that flag just got you a follower for life and a patreon supporter as soon as we are back on our feet.
You have such a beautiful place, and the setting on the water just puts it over the top. I know some of these are old videos but my wife and I enjoy them very much. Thank you for that! We're on a mountain top in Tennessee but if we ever get down your way we look forward to sitting an hope you'll share some of those views! God Bless you Sir... you seem to have a kind soul.
Glad to see everything faired well. Today we are going to be getting the remains of Jose lots of wind and rain up in Connecticut. Keep the videos coming Marty. 👍🏻🎣😎💯
I remember coming out of the house in Miami after Andrew. The destruction and feeling in the air, I will never forget.
I'm glad you all are okay...and the mysterious white board will forever be missed😇
Marty, you've done really well teardown and reset...It's good Mike helped you out.. It's good Kon Tiki III didn't get battle scared And we're glad the three of you didn't get stuck in the inland farmland....Boy this was a good video documentary...Worth the effort of finding out you posted.....Love the stair to the water...Shows your not a landlubber !!!LOL...
Nice to see that you and your buisness are OK!
Every day me and my co-worker followed all this IRMA-thing all time. Our winds (Orcan-Wind ~120 km/h) here at the coast of the Baltic Sea, are half powerful than your Hurricane-Winds there in Florida. BIG THANKS to you and your videos and life-messages and best wishes from Germany to You all in Florida!
Looks like not nearly as much damage as there could have been. I hope you are doing well afterwards.
you guys and your hurricane videos! Geesh! Glad everyone is ok!
I'm very happy you guys made it ok and your boats also.
Attitude + aptitude = success. Congrats Marty!
20:13 O'le Bob is going "These aren't 'happy li'l clouds!'" You guys made the best of it. Nothing better than staying safe and partying with friends during a "disaster!' :-0
Great video. A monumental one! Ps Those steps down to the water are cool. :)
Marty - I have been WAITING for this update ! I am so happy you property did not sustain any serious damage. I am sure you will be spending some time back at you buddy's place fixing the roof that got blown away !
So glad you are well. I've been praying for you and everyone that's been affected by Irma. Hold on there are more coming or at least that is what we call Hurricane Season.
Thanks for the update, Marty. I agree the Tampa Bay area dodged one. I am glad you, your friends and dogs made it thru safely. You impress me with your positive attitude.
Stay Safe, Zoffinger. Good to see you back up and Kayaking on the water after the storm!
This was another awesome video. Thank you for recording everything. I couldn't stop watching to the very end. So glad your boat is safe. I look forward to watching many more of your videos and following you on your journey.
Yeah, we have a place on Boca Grande and expected the worst but just a few downed trees. No wind damage, no water surge & all ok. Glade you and everyone made it thru safe and sound. Best of luck
Glad to see everything intact. I was a huge Bob Ross fan. RIP
its amazing you still have your scence of humor after a tragic event, maybe even more scence of humor.
Just told a buddy of mine that watching your videos were as calming as watching Bob Ross paint. Then I watched this again and who makes an appearance? The man himself in the form of a shirt. Well played Marty. Well played.
Nice to see your place survived with little to no damage, best of luck with those delayed meetings!
I love having an American flag flying on my boat or property. Makes me proud, good job on that Marty!
Hi Marty I am so pleased that your boat and property are all ok. More importantly though I am relieved to learn both yourself and your friends and dogs are all ok.
Glad to hear that you and the pupper's are ok and everything pulled threw.
Nothing can stop Marty!! Not even largest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic! Wonder where the fish went? Hope to see some more fishing clips soon...
Glad you're safe and the boat too. Here in Coral Gables we suffered the dirty side of Irma lots of wind damage to trees. Lost a few trees here on the property and the mango tree is leaning badly. But no one hurt and the house did not get any damage and cleanup is on going. No power for 9 days but it's back now and I can say I survived and so can you. Hope we dodge Maria.
Glad you made it. Sometimes paradise has teeth, but like you said the reward is well worth the risk.
I was quite worried about you, I am so glad to see you and your friends have weathered the storm so well. I hope you and your business great luck and much success, have a wonderful day.
I'm glad you, the dogs and your property were safe! Cheers!
Lulz, gotta love your sense of humor...not sure if I'm the only one who noticed your Jimmy Buffet reference:), Even in the face of potential tragedy, you have a reason to smile. God bless you Mr Marty.
.hey, those steps to the water look new, hope you filmed that production.
T,his is old, but saw some Randy Wayne Wright books there. Gotta love Doc Ford, Marty! Good to see that. Been to Sanibel many, many times, love Doc’s!
You are still around!.............down here in South Africa we were watching the storm bear down on the west coast and fearing the worst for you...........! Glad you're OK.......!
Looks great!!! A small fire pit by the Adirondack chairs would be awesome to sit by at night and look at the ocean!!
So happy all went well, and very great to see how you Floridians handle hurricanes like pros! Nice use of the Catch 100 too... :p
Very happy to see every thing was ok Marty and that you and the pups are safe!
Im glad you made it with no damage..i know as millions on the gulf coast knows what it like leaving your things you built...the look on your face only people that knows all to well about hurricanes..not knowing what they will be coming back to..i know going through harvey..i only lost a car..no big deal..my girlfriend at the time she took in an total stranger the girl lost everything..she had almost five feet of water in her house..so we are very lucky ...its hard for leaving..i wish you all of the best..
1:00 I felt that look. I've been through cyclones in Far North Queensland and understand the apprehension, but also know that a hurricane or cyclone is all part of the love we have for the places we call home. We know that with beauty comes some opposite to tell us we're guests on this planet and should appreciate that beauty. Sorry for the hippy rant.
Awesome that damage was minimal. That Bob Ross shirt is great!
I’m glad to hear you only suffered a minor setback. It could have been a lot worse. Keep moving forward.
Hi Marty, glad to see you are ok and well after the storm. My dog just liked the fact that I was home with her during the storm. Zoffinger's is starting to look real cool! Love the kayak launch steps. Can't wait to see the activities to be offered. Will definitely be going to visit and enjoy! Stay Reel!
I remember that storm. It went right up between Hardee and Highlands County (where I am from) and into Polk County. My grown kids (20's) still live in Highlands, I now live in Lake County and work in Orange County.
I wondered about you when I saw the hurricane was going to hit Tampa... I'm glad you're OK and sustained minimal damage!!
Glad all was well, you and friends survived the storm with minor damage. Best of luck throughout the rest of the year. Peace.
I'm glad to see minimal damage for you!
God Bless Marty your ok. I've been waiting for this video for days. Keep building my CZcams friend
Glad to see you weathered the storm. Can't wait to visit you!
Glad you and your boat are okay Marty! Thanks for bringing us all along on your adventure!
Good morning Marty and Michael 👍 I'm was wondering about y'all and hoping all was well I'm glad y'alls boats and property was in good condition after the hurricane and I know lots of Floridians are having to deal with much more serious things on down the road from Tampa. Thanks for sharing, stay safe , enjoy and have an amazing and Blessed Wednesday !!!! Danny
Useful bit of knowledge learnt there - if circumstances mean you have to walk away, you can. It keeps things in perspective.
Happy to see you fared well during storm. I live in Key Largo so I can relate.
One of your best videos - Thank God all is well.
Glad that everything worked out pretty well for you all.
Hey man you are such an inspirational guy! I've learned from you that no matter how hard life is hitting you , you should never give up! I've watched all of your videos! I haven't missed 1! Keep up the great work!
I'm surprised you didn't set up a camera either on the boat or the dock to monitor things - but good to hear you more or less escaped it. Big thumbs up!!!
Very glad that the hurricane didn't hit us hard, good luck in the future
Glad you survived with minimal damage!
Glad to see that you and your friends are safe and that you didn't sustain any damages I have been waiting very impatiently for this update
Glad to see your friend's , you and your dog's are O.K material can be replace (NOT LIVE'S) keep up the good work!
Nice to see nothing was damaged
That's pretty much what me and my family did. Left Clearwater and headed for Palm Bay, but we had to deal with a lot of tornadoes. Glad your safe!
Congrats Marty, glad your safe now back to work.
Glad it all worked out for you and the doggos. That Bob Ross shirt is awesome BTW. Now catch some fish!
Glad and happy to see all is well. Stay strong and safe out there Marty
GLAD YOU & YOUR 4 LEGGERS SURVIVED MARGARITAVILLE " STEPPED ON A POP TOP " LMAO ! YOUR VIDEO, GAVE OFF THAT OMINOUS FEELING , THE WAY I REMEMBERED HURRICANE DAVID WAS BACK IN 1979. MUCHO PROPS ! YOUR FLAG LOOKS PATRIOTIC NICE !
Nice to see everything is all good still.
Man i am so glad all went well with you, the boat and the property; it would've really sucked if you got devastating damages during the early stages of you business! Thank God for that and the blessing of mother nature as you surely dodged a bullet. Life goes on be safe and best wishes bro cheers.
Glad to see you guys are okay. It might be fair to say 'Some' parts of Florida dodged the bullet, but not all, down here in Collier County we got some places that are destroyed, but like all the storms we've been through, a house can be decimated and the one next door has only superficial/cosmetic damage. On the other side of our road all the huge trees in the woods that face the street, were stripped of everything, leaves, bark and most of the small branches for a distance of about two miles.
Glad to see you and Bob are okay.
Glad to see you weathered the storm!
very happy news Marty!
I'm most happy the dogs are okay.
Glad to see your recovering my friend. Best of luck to you zoffinger with your new adventures.
Boy.....that's great news. Was concerned for you and the boat. All my youtube people are accounted for now. Everyone made it with LITTLT damage. Hope to see you up and running real quick.
"I stepped on a pop top and blew out my flip flop."
Marty looks like everything is really coming together. I hope to be able to come visit sometime soon. missed you at two meet and greets by mere hours. long drive from WV (1200) to be exact. Love the videos!!! lots of heart and just plain simple. that's what makes them special my friend!!
Glad to see everything is fine and you are safe !!!
Glad you're safe and hopefully you're boat done OK
So glad you're ok!!! I'm proud and impressed that one of the first things you did after returning home was hoist the flag. Thank you, Marty! God bless!
So glad your doing good! Keep the good work!
It was a little entertaining watching the whiteboard in the wind. Great video.
Glad all is well... Blessings!!!
Glad to see you guys are ok, good luck with the business Marty.
