  • Many believe that China Southern Airlines' fleet would continue to be dominated by Airbus and Boeing aircraft, given that over 95% of its current fleet comprises planes from these American and European manufacturers, but this is not the case anymore. China Southern airlines has set the stage for innovation and progress by sealing a record-breaking deal to acquire 100 C919 narrowbody aircraft, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of air travel. As China Southern Airlines adds these aircraft to its fleet, the world is eager to see how the airline will leverage the C919's capabilities to enhance its operations and passenger experience.

China should use Comac 919, C929 and C939 for its domestic market including the flights in its Asian network. The usa has been using mostly American-made aircraft within its domestic network and it is practically a closed market for foreign aircraft manufacturer. It is only much later that Airbus could enter its market. China southern airlines and Air China have each bought 200 C919 which will be followed by others. Comac Will grow bigger than Boeing, 21st century is just the beginning of China’s rise in civil aircraft market.

If the plane proves to be economical, reliable, by highest rates of dispatch availbility among an unbeatable stock prices as well, we don`t see how its Worthiness of International Navigation Certificate could be delayed or banned. Just it`s a matter of time, but Chinese Jet Liner market has a very serious competition player, just only to get effered in Asia-South Pacific airlines market. Big deal if they get that so.

it was delayed many years but finally they did it. c919 is not super special. it is just ok in everything. ok for comfort, ok for fuel economic, ok for ticket, ok for ranges.. everything is ok.

Well it´s the first commercial passenger plane in that volume for them. Probably they are working on the next generation already! It will be like the trains, at first they are "okish" but then they start to advance.

I have read the comments below, but I have a diverging view: I find it extremely difficult that China's dictatorial leadership would produce an aircraft and then allow their airlines to continue to purchase aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. Domestically, the C919 and any other models produced, can operate until they get approval from EASA and the FAA (not easily attainable). Recognizing China's hard line policies, it is impossible to believe that China's major airlines are not under pressure to purchase this aircraft. I give this article a thumbs down.

Your view is based on your lack of common knowledge and logical thinking. C919 does not need certification from FAA or EASA for domestic flights in China or any other country for that matter. For example, another COMAC made aircraft ARJ-21 (smaller model than C919) has been purchased by Indonesia to service its own market. C919 has been in commercial flight only one year. It will take time for COMAC to increase the production rate. China is the second largest aviation market in the world, and it can consume 800 new aircrafts every year for the next 10 years.

If you're brave enough to fly this junk aeroplane don't forget to bring a parachute, the chance you need it is very high.
