It should be added however, that DELTA also got nearly 140 A320 series airliners from this transaction. DELTA started to order A321 aircraft in 2013 (along with 10 additional A330-300), and signed up for the first 25 each of the A330neo and A350 already in 2014. That was a decade BEFORE the recent incidents documented in the (otherwise quite good) film. But Airbus was not granted a monopoly - instead DELTA opted for the then-Bombardier C-Series in 2016 when loooking for a new small narrowbody (to later replace the 717, smallish 737-700 and maybe A319). It was by chance that Airbus could swallow this product line, which lets the DELTA fleet setup today look more Airbus-heavy than it was intended.

Delta moved towards airbus for their wide body fleet for a while now. This isn’t new news. And I’m fairly sure delta ordered some 737 max 10s or one of the other models.

If a 20 year old aircraft is loosing a wheel or experiencing an engine desintegration, this is most likely NOT a design or manufacturing error.

There is a BIG difference between a design flaw, that one is Boeing's fault indeed, engines are NOT a Boeing product that one is responsibility of RR, P&W or GE and none are responsible for the maintenance both airframe and engine receive. That one is the operator's responsibility.
