Hi Steve, always love your videos and I am really grateful for this one. It won't improve productivity one bit - but switching to schedule view and updating all my diary entries with locations has brightened my life no end. Little things do make a difference☺ Thanksb
Great video yet again. The calendar app is amazingly good and I for one really like the photographs it shows when possible. With the recent addition of the Reminder function, I have all I need in one app!
always enjoyable Steve. Thanks for my first introduction to Google Calendar....I'm going to enjoy this!
Love the Note Edge phone. Still using it but will be changing to the Note 9 soon.
Hi Steve, you caused me to download Google Calendar & start using it, immediately after watching your video today : )
Awesome video! You make it fun & enjoyable to watch & learn.
p/s: you hooked me onto Google Forms too.
***** Thanks so much Ivan, I am glad you like the apps!
Hi Steve Thanks for the Google video on the G mail I love it .
Steve, a big thank you for the awesome value you bring #grateful
Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr. CFA Thanks so much!
Thanks for the informative, thorough video. I'm torn between the default Samsung calendar app and Google calendar. I think I'll try it out and see which is superior :)
Thanks for doing this video! I think I have decided to use Google Calendar as my main calendar now. :)
Christine Abrell Let us know if you arelikeing it after a week or so!
Excellent tutorial but one absolutely fundamental question for someone using the App fro the first time is how to get to the "Home Screen" when you first switch on the Google calendar. It seems that you can can get to (a) the "Home Screen" (which appears to be the screen with the words "Google Calendar" in coloured ink at the top or (b) a screen with the date ,title etc and take it from there - i.e. on which text entries that can be altered by selecting on that screen..
I also need to find a fail safe way to change the colour of the note. It seems that one cannot do this from just any screen. It soes not come up as an option except in the early screens.
I'm a sunrise calendar fan, but will now defaulted to google calendar on my iphone 6. I'm a visual person so enjoy the "easeability", great graphics, especially GPS feature. Keep those tips coming Steve. From a Patreon fan of yours.
sandi lum Thanks Sandi! I am going to keep both running, I LOVE the Sunrise keyboard on my iPine and am not giving that up!!!!
Loved this video, Steve. Won't improve productivity one bit, but will brighten the day no end.
Cedric Hills I am starting to like that schedule view.
As usual, you always over deliver. Thank you.
+JOMY M Thanks!
Thank you for the information on how to better use Google Calendar. I do have one question not covered, I use Google Assistant too and I use it to remind me of appointments and events. It does not appear to transfer over to Google Calendar. Did I miss something on the Assistant?
Great video Thanks
Thanks Steve, unfortunately my fave Sunrise is going and I don't think outlook will be like it was, although they say it will, so I am now going to try google calendar.
Thank you! :)
I have different calendars - work, personal. Is there a way I can add personal (pink) without having to switch from default calendar (blue)? Doesnt seem to ask you Event for Personal or Work (my categories) on my iphone....or am I missing something?
How can we change the time of goals, for all events...?
Can anyone help me
I also love "Tiny Calendar" for iPhone
I want to have reminder call for the schedule time....is it possible?
Nice video man - very well produced.
I'm wanting to set up a single shared calendar between my Google Cal on iphone, and my girlfriends on Android. Is this possible? Or is it just a case of sharing a calendar event with her (by adding her email) every time I add something to my calendar?
Thanks in advance.
I enjoy all your videos, thanks for your help. What do you recommend to replace Sunrise calendar? Or straight up Google?
Straight up Google for me. Wish something else was there but I have not found it.
For my surface, outlook and android calendar please?
Is Google Calendar the best app for daily, monthly, yearly plan, task, schedule, appointments? In 2017, is Google Calendar still the best (For Note 8)? Thanks.
Hello Steve. I'm trying to use Google Calendar and I love the interface and how easy it is to put in an event. The only trouble I have with it that I can't figure out is how do I know when someone has invited me to an event without opening up my app to see it. For instance, if my wife adds a calendar event and invites me to it and the event isn't until March of 2018, how do I know I've received the invite? I don't get a notification like I did with the basic iOS calendar. Please help!
Steve, thanks for the great content of your channel. I love your vids. If you're looking for new content I was wondering if you could do a deep dive into the different calendars available in iOS or Google. When configuring any calendar app it asks which calendars you want to integrate and there are a dozen to choose from with many having the same name. IE birthdays, I apparently have 3 birthday calendars to choose from yet I have no idea where they link back to iOS, iCloud, Google, or other. I'm not a technology newb yet I find this very confusing.
DogWalksMe Good question, let me look into what I can do,
Hi can you please explain to me why my google calendar deletes passed events on one of my calendars. How can I overcome this issue ?
Does Sunrise have the same problem ?
Any calendar app that can set autoumatically as home screen / screen saver on a cell phone? For people who forget to look at their calendar! Instead of a home screen you'd automatically be in the appor at least veiwing a copy, e.g., of 'today,' until clicking something else)
How do you change the Google calendar icon view from always showing 31st to actually displaying current date like the apple calendar?
I enjoy using both Google Calendar and Sunrise calendar. Which one do you prefer? I need to watch the memory on my phone, so I can only use 1 or the other. Thanks for the videos. Look forward to watching them each week.
Michelle D If I could choose just one, I would still take Sunrise.
Does Sunrise calendar show the pretty pictures, such as haircut, lunch, etc.?
Awesome video very precise how can I have snooze in iOS in which I can set custom intervals
Not sure what you are looking for, it may be in the timer options rather than a calendar feature.

How do you add URL to the google calendar app?
Is there any way to view the calendar while on the phone? Currently I need to ask if I can check my calendar to see if a particular date is available, then call back the person who wants to make the appointment.
How do you view shared calendars on the app?
The schedule view DOES help when looking at what's going on in your calendar for the week. Thanks for the helpful advice.
What settings/steps can I do to prevent accidentally sharing my Google Calendar information? I only want the information in the Calandar to be read by me. Thanks.
Riddle me this - I just upgraded from a Galaxy S5 to Galaxy S8 phone and opened the native Calendar App; where did the copy function go? How do I access it??
I do not plan on opening a browser or using a desktop computer for such a tedious task that should be simple and native, please help!
Steve, can you do a tutorial on the Jorte calendar organiser app for both android & iOS please??
Thanks.
+Seedthedrummer I will have a look.
how can i integrate google calendar in my android application?means i need to add event and start & end date to google calendar through android(user) and then get notification of that event from google calendar.please let me know?
I have 2 calendars on my galaxy s9 that are exactly alike.. how do I get rid of one..Thank you
The widget is in dire need of a month view.
I´m so much more into Fantastical 2, it has made me a person that actually uses a calendar. And to me that is a BIG deal.
Can you recommend a calendar app with photo support for individual events ??
+Seedthedrummer I am not aware of one. maybe someone else can!
Is there any way to prioritize multiple calendars on iPhone app? Ex. I have three calendars, and I want my personal one to be listed at the top regardless of appointment time.
I haven’t seen that option
do you think iOS or android integrates the calendar better? I always think android is better but I have an I phone and I just think I can't se tup my iphone properly what do you think?
For Google I think Android does a better job
Also, do you see the cool images from the places on the Android widget?
Alexandra Tejero Yep, visually they really nailed it!
They don't show up in mine, i will try to detele the widget and put it there again
hi i have an outlook account how i use it with google calendar on my note? when i go to settings theres a lot of calendars "samsung calendar" outlook calendar' device calendar" it's driving me crazy.
Hello, on my calendar it reflects the wrong date 31, how do I change to reflect the actual date
Hola que tal? Tienes este tutoría en español? Gracias y saludos!
Me gustaría si podía hablar español .
Hey Steve , this do not work on my Samsung S4 mini ? Is this because i do not live in the USA or Canada but in that small Belgium :) Great video's !!!!!
Erwin Ceuppens Really? The mapping function did not work?
dottotech No !! Is this a special setting ofso ??
Erwin Ceuppens I am sorry, I have no idea why it would not be working.
Jump to date settings sir
I am trying to figure out how to edit an event that I've already put into Google Calendar using the iPhone 6. I can edit just fine on my laptop but how do you do it on the IPhone 6?
+Steve Sukonick if you're using the Google Calendar app, just tap on the pencil icon to get you into the editing mode
Actually, I figured out the problem was that my wife had not given me rights to edit the calendar as she was the one who first created it! Thanks for your help.
Hey Steve! Been watching you since you were on TV. Is there a way to make the default to not be notified of new events created? I don't need the notification nor the email 99% of the time and find myself removing them before clicking save. Thanks!
Taylor Holmwood Are you referring to being notified of an event added to a calendar you re subscribed to? I bet there is an IFTTT script that would do that.
+dottotech just a regular event I'm adding myself, the default is a notification before and an email as well 10 and 30 minutes respectively I think. But in the settings I saw I can "not be notified on this device." So I'm good. Thanks for the reply, enjoy your vacation!
Hi Steve. Is there any way of syncing my Google calendar with my Outlook and vice versa? I need to use Outlook for work but I would also like to use Google. However, I do not want to have to enter the same event twice. Any ideas? Thanks.
Andre Roy It should not be too difficult, here is one set of instructions
www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/software/how-sync-google-outlook-calendars-3500196/
Google Calendar has been pretty good as a base. Just one concern: privacy...
Some email providers offer CalDav as a calendar base, which works like a charm.
One example: posteo.de
Scary thought. I am not more 'engaged in life' because I don't use an app. How shallow my life has become. Anyway, still I enjoy and learn a lot from your videos
Zac+Millie+Buddy :-) are you saying I am prone to sometimes overhype a feature.....? (valid point)
Not at all Steve. I do learn so much from your videos. It was just an observation that I don't lead an interesting enough life as to be able to fully utilise the many features available in the technology that we are able to access. Sadly I am one of those luddites that will say to the younger crowd: "We didn't have that in my day and we seemed to manage o.k." I continuely find that the features available to us in our many applications show just how imaginative the developers are, and how clever they are too.
With the exception of two entries the location the picture shows when I am entering the address then disappears when I hit the save button. I can't find anything different in my entry. Any suggestions to get the graphics more often?
That is a function of the locations you are visiting including images in their Google Places account
You can view the month (with no appointments) by tapping on the month name at the top of the screen
Robert Purdum Thanks Robert
May I ask how do you record onscreen on android?
+ChuaShaoCong I cover that in this video

Bonjour. Pouvez vous.m aider ? Ce que j écris sur mon GSM androïde ne se synchronise pas sur la tablette ipad9
Hi there! Wondering here if you still use Google Calendar? I've been using Microsoft Outlook's Calendar for years. And have never felt short of headaches. I always thought it was the best but I'm sure in 2016 there are more options. I've searched but can't find anything so I came to you. I pay monthly to MS for the Outlook Office. But find it's terrible with the emails as well as the Calendar. In order to sync up with my phone it causes terrible sluggishness which has been actually slowing down my day. I just liked to go to one place for my productivity. emails/calendar/contacts. Therefore, I'm curious if you have found any other platforms free or paid, other than Google. Unless Google is the best one. Then I'll switch over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.
I can't say Google is 'better" but I do use it. I think all platforms have issues, but I am satisfied with the Google tools. Not thrilled, just satisfied.
dottotech I'll have to give Google a try, at least. Thanks.
I'm wondering if you can duplicate a Google calendar event on the iPhone app
You can link the 2
Yes, thanks for responding. I do have them linked. I was wondering while I'm in the phone app can I duplicate an event. I can duplicate an event on my computer (which carries over event details) but haven't found that same capability on the phone. Just wondering if it's possible on the phone, too.
I LOVE Google Calendar on my Samsung S7 Edge. It has been working well with my Dell laptop. This morning, my calendar on my laptop is GONE! I've done everything that the Google help site tells me to do but NOTHING I do will get my calendar back on my laptop. My phone remains perfect! HELP!
My life's operational efficiency is built on Google Calendar and it's amazing how much attention the mobile apps have been getting as the years have gone on. The bittersweetness is of course that the desktop version hasn't changed much. Functionality is incredible, but the aesthetics don't match the material design Google is pushing now.
Justin Virly Great point! Thanks for sharing and I think you are right on!
best apps
Steve you tutorial is great but doesn't address my problem. I "lost" my widget on my android phone for the Google calendar. Now the only thing I can get for a widget covers the whole page!
where are the event icons in the new google calendar? I cannot find them
+peggy schrabeck They auto populate I believe
+dottotech I meant like the little clip art for the events like there was a birthday cake and a piano and all kinds of little pictures you can put next to your events. They seem to not be there in the new os lollipop
The clip arts are triggered by keywords. Here is a list of words that can be used to automatically create the clip arts: www.quora.com/What-are-all-the-keywords-for-the-new-Google-Calendar-Android-app-that-will-generate-those-beautiful-images-in-the-agenda-view
It is still missing a widget for the iOS version. It's a crucial functionality, IMO.
Ivens Denner Interesting, I wonder how many people are using iOS widgets, as Apple came so late the the widget party!
How to jump to old date in Google calendar Android
Google calendar deleted my events on my app from a year ago why and how do I recover these dates on the app?
+Zapya I would check in the Google Drive help forum
You
How to unsyn my mom's calendar that was added to mine?
Go to Settings>Calendar that will do the trick
I'm totally confused... Is Google Calendar better than Sunrise Calendar in the end, or not?? =/
I think it's simpler than Sunrise. And I like it. ^^
Sunrise is best for integration with other apps like Evernote and Todoist. Google calendar is pretty much a straight forward calendar app.
Alexandra Tejero John Marhsall is right, IMO Google calendar is more straight forward, Sunrise works better when you have multiple services you use.
Like you I've been using Google Calendar for years on my desktop as the basic database, but I am hooked on the Samsung S Planner (which syncs to Google) on my android phone. You can see a whole week at a time, without the confusion of pictures and so forth. Diaries should be simple and clear - just a pen and paper ones were.
Why do you need three phones????
Need an iPad version
Phil Robberson I have not tried the iOS on iPad, but obvoisly, you are less than impressed....
man what do you do
+Akshay Rajendran this

Google calendar didn't change times with daylight savings. So I stopped using it.
andrew zuo Curious, Why does it need to change? a 10 am appointment is still 10 am.......
Recurring appointments.
