First thing that should be checked with P0716 code is the transmission fluid level, wiring harness 20pin connection to the ECM, and the TCM fuse. The input sensor should be the last thing you check, unless you want a big repair bill that doesn't resolve the issue.

2006 VW Beetle TDI check engine light on, giving code P0717. At mechanic shop, he still doesn’t have a diagnosis, says he’s reading up on some things😳. It’s probably something in the transmission💔

I have a 06 chevy trailblazer 5.3 with code p0717.
Check ur battery & make sure u have at least 12.5V & check how much it drops under a load. I had P0717 & my battery was weak under a load. Replaced it & still had hard 1 - 2 shift. Traced down the wires which was orange for signal & lt blue for ground for my ISS. Spliced into lt blue wire with similiar size gauge wire & ran it to a good ground. Instantly stopped shifting hard & no codes no issues at this time & going on 5 months.

Had this part changed out but made no difference tranny still sporadically wont shift from first.I have to pull over put in neutral and start over
