The album is from the Swedish folkmusician Åsa Jinders album "Folkmusik på svenska". I was executive producer in that album. Åsa and mine idea was to bring some Swedish singers to sing on Åsas lyrics. This was One of them and Im proud to be a part of it. But Åsa should be named as the artist as well as CajsaStina in this presentation even of she doesnt sing. But the lyrics, keyfiddler, arrangements are done by her. The pianoplayer is Stefan Nilsson by the way. A guy which music you talked to another day as he composed Gabriellas sång with Helen Sjöholm. The bassplayer on this recording is the legendary Georg Riedel who among tons of classic jazzrecordings have written the main part of Astrid Lindgrens classic soundtracks... // Pär Winberg
"Folkmusik på svenska" is actually Åsa Jinder's album (the nyckelharpa player). So it's basically Åsa Jinder feat. Cajsa-Stina. I guess that Åsa is the songwriter too. To clarify a bit, the Swedish term "folkmusik" is not really equivalent to the genre called "folk" in English, it refers to traditional ethnic music sometimes traded down through generations, of which the most common type is instrumental dance tunes played with fiddles. In the last ~150 years different kinds of accordions have also been added. The phenomenons of 1) fiddler orchestras/ensembles called "spelmanslag" and 2) 'open house' type of gatherings at specific spelman jam events mostly in the summertime (spelmansstämmor) has surrected in the 20th century and this is what most Swedes associate with "folkmusik", often in intimate connection with the celebration of the Midsummer evening and also with the folkloristic and mythified province of Dalarna, despite that there exists folkmusik traditions in all Swedish provinces. The Nyckelharpa that Åsa Jinder plays is a medieval string instrument that was completely gone and forgotten a century ago except in the province of Uppland, but it had a revival in the 1960's-70's and Åsa Jinder made it known to a broad audience in the 80's through her own easy listening kind of compositions. Btw Åsa is the mother of the famous electro pop singer-songwriter Little Jinder. I don't think any of LJ's hits could classify as "classics" but I quite like "Vita Bergens klockor", I think it's what you'd consider a "banger". Sorry for long post, I have too much time off being isolated at home atm...
I recorded this for my husbands funeral. Having sung at many strangers' funerals, it felt strange not to sing for my beloved husband. But I could not have done it live.
Staffan Hellstrand-Lilla fågel blå Please! One of the biggest Swedish hits of the early 90:s Jakob Hellman-Hon har ett sätt, is another huge swedish hit. And my personal favourite as per usual, Bob Hund-istället för musik förvirring
This is a favourite at Swedish weddings. Your brother-in-law didn't lie to you about Svullo. Everyone over a cetain age know that song. But you have better recs to do. :-)
First of all I want to say to you and to the people complaining, that klassiker doesn't mean good songs. Klassiker means those songs everyone knows or atleast know the chorus of. So I hope everyone complaining just stops and just recommend songs that are klassiker but good insted if they want you to listen to them and accept that you will be listening to schlagers and other crigey songs. And you getting recomendations of songs not considerd classics is not your fault so don't listen people upset over it, thats just bonus tracks ;) Secondly, För fet för ett F... is a klassiker I would say, I don't remember more than that line and kind of the melody because I was so young when it came out but it's one of those songs you "should have heard and know of" as a swede but don't be in a hurry to get to it. Here are some songs I would say are klassiker and actually good, the Peter LeMarc one is the only one I listen to on a regular but the rest aren't bad and I think they are more your style too (I included links so you don't get any wierd videos): Peter LeMarc - Little Willie John czcams.com/video/0UgNiBpiS9Q/video.html or this might have better audio czcams.com/video/HOr38Iim5mA/video.html Tommy Nilsson - Öppna Din Dörr (HQ) czcams.com/video/Ug9KQU6IAmY/video.html Jan Johansen - Se På Mig czcams.com/video/9EHg07V48TA/video.html Ulf Lundell - Öppna Landskap czcams.com/video/TAgrwxHAG2s/video.html Mauro Scocco - Till Dom Ensamma czcams.com/video/JcDmIExLujI/video.html Björn Afzelius - Tusen Bitar czcams.com/video/kA_5UqWmWrU/video.html Christer Björkman - Imorgon är en annan dag czcams.com/video/FR4MPLmgwAo/video.html Petra Marklund - Händerna mot himlen czcams.com/video/f4fB9EXpMTI/video.html And I love 'Av Längtan Till Dig' it's so beautiful, it's one of those that kind of hurts because they are so beautiful. Glad you liked it.
@Blake Branson funny how you comment this under all of "Ashtons" comments, how many times are you gonna check it out and how do you know where he is commenting? It's obvious it's just one person with to accounts. Seriously stop fcking spamming.
Great reaction and a fantastic song I had forgotten. I agree with you about the complainings, you can only do your best and I think you do it good. All songs you've done are classics in some level, but then there could be even bigger classic by the same artists in some cases.... Still I love your videos and hope that many people in both Sweden and US finding your chanel and enjoying your videos.
So I just found your Channel (probably the 8th videos already tonight) and I am looking forward to see what else Swedish you have listened to, and maybe lager give you a suggestion or two. Just wanted to say hello and drop a fun fact that this song plays a lot during weddings. It was played at My own on a piano on the cliffs by the ocean in crete/greece (so No not a very Swedish tradition wedding but had a Swedish priest and all). So this song Will Always be Close to My heart (also sang it myself two years Ago at My Mother in laws wedding which seemed to be appriciated but hey who knows!
Keep up the good work, fun too see you're reactions too the swedish music treasure. Could recommend "Öppna din dörr" med Tommy Nilsson, cheezy song but a good ballad.
You should REALLY listen to ”X-models - Två av oss” (from 1981) - and also ”Grace - Ingen kan älska som vi” (from 1988). Two classic one hit wonders!! And the last one, Grace, is a brother as you put it 😂🙈. Enjoy!
The fiddle instrument in this song is a swedish traditional and national instrument called ”nyckelharpa” or keyed fiddle. Similar to a Hurdy gurdy but played with a bow instead of a wheel. :)
So much pain. I played and sang (Oh, well) this so much when my newly found love of my life got terminally ill and died. I love it and it pains me like not much else.
Defo a classic!! One of my absolute faves, long time since I last heard it tho so I was sat here with goosebumps and tears in my eyes, haha. I'm craving some more Ted Gärdestad reactions from you btw :)
Fun fact about Cajsa-Stina Åkerström, she's currnetly living in a small town called Mönsterås outside of Kalmar, only 30 kilometers from where I grew up :)
For classic progg (not the same as "progressive rock", this had more to do with the progressive *political* movement :-D ) you can't go wrong with anything by Björn Afzelius or Mikael Wiehe (especially their 70's stuff). Some of it's classic rock, some is more akin to alternative, some is reggae or blues...but most of it gets your toes tapping. "Tältprojektet" is one I can warmly recommend - it was basically a rock musical (!) featuring some of the best actors and musicians of the period (70's), about the rise of the socialist movement in the late 1800's to early 1900's in response to awful treatment by factory owners and corporate tycoons. It sounds boring you might say? Just...check it out. At your convenience. :-D

The nyckelharpa/keyharp is played by Åsa Jinder. She is a riksspelman. Is a fantastic song/tune

Lilla Fågel Blå är en grymt bra låt!
Jag älskar denna, brukade sjunga den då och då. En väldigt kärleksfull och finstämd låt. ♥
Caisa Stina really is a master of melodies. 🎶👍

I don't know if there's a direct translation of "jack of all trades" in Swedish but you could say "mångsysslare".

Jag tycker så mycket om valsrytmen i den här sången, det är som att hela sången dansar.

Hi! Please react to "Fattig Bonddräng" with Tommy Körberg 🤩🔥.
Jack of all trades = Allt-i-allo
"En mångsidig kvinna/person." would work well.
The one with Ebba Grön you wanna do is Die Mauer, not 800 Grader, fam
Jack of all trades = mångsysslare eller tusenkonstnär
