- Rob Ida Concepts brought there 1940 Mercury out to Eastwood for the Gene Winfield Meet and Greet. In this video Rob talks about the work that went in to building this custom Mercury.
This 1940 Mercury won the best of show award from Ford Motor company at SEMA in 2015.

Unbelievable! I’d love to see it in person and drool for hours. The amount of work to make it look old was probably one of the hardest details. The chop and curved back glass among all the other details. Just incredible! True craftsman!

This is the most STUNNING custom ride I have seen to date. Yes, they could easily hide that under the pole that splits the front windsheeld in half.

I have to agree, perhaps a bit too cool for a production car of the era but definitely something Edsel Ford would have loved and possibly even wanted to build.

That car is just unbelievable, lots of Delahaye in the styling. The lines flow like a cloud.
Now THIS is a masterpiece, painstakingly made to perfection.
Gorgeous... what makes the difference from a nice car to a great car is the attention to the small details, too. The slight slant in the vent window is just one of the many little things that firmly place this in the great category. My own personal preference is to keep them period correct, but I truly admire and respect your ability to give it the outward look of period correct and mount a rocket under the hood at the same time.

Nice machine. The old air cleaner body is a nice touch but the dynamic cowl is a wild idea. I might sit in a parking lot and work the throttle plates for fun. Turning fender skirts, beautiful! The stock looking interior with the wild west mail-pouch door pockets is just plain cool.
